Really the question in character battles has been can we get 64 good
characters, the question in a new game contest is how can we get ONLY
64 games. Just talking about the games which have come out since Spring 2004 which need to be included in the next contest: Final Fantasy XII Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Super Mario Galaxy (if out) Metal Gear Solid 3 (4 wont be out until Winter 2007) Halo 2/3 Resident Evil 4 Devil May Cry 3 New Sonic Game God of War World of Warcraft Kingdom Hearts 2 Pokemon DS (I forgot what they were called) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Dragon Quest VIII I could go on. "how the hell did G/S/C get in instead of R/B/Y?" People who are bigger fans of the series prefer it. The casual pokemon players that wouldn't nominate either are more likely to vote in favor of RBY, though. Just felt the need to correct something here. It may be true that the biggest fans of the series prefer GSC, but this has been discussed before, and the most likely cause was the flawed nomination system. There was a seperate entry for Gameboy and Gameboy Color to nominate for; GSC is on Gameboy Color, while RBY is on the original Gameboy. If you think about it, GSC didn't have too much to compete with, while RBY had Tetris among other things stealing its nominations. --- Take off every sig. |

Wow, so quickly does the stats topic changes topics. To sidetrack from the current "Best Game Ever" bracket talk a bit, the list of characters that the stats topic has debated, discussed or would like to nominate for the next character contest from all of the fairly recent CS&D topics (going back as far as the Rikku vs Kairi topic) is as follows: Robo (Chrono Trigger) Ayla (Chrono Trigger) Lucca (Crono Trigger) Kairi (Kingdom Hearts) Shadow (FFVI) Sabin (FFVI) Mog (FFVI) Edgar (FFVI) Locke (FFVI) Yuffie (FFVII) Barret (FFVII) Cid (FFVII) Fox McCloud (Star Fox) Citan (Xenogears) Fei (Xenogears) Mewtwo (Pokemon) I think I'm missing a few others, but that's generally it. rallying for character #43853 from CT, FF6 or FF7 is pointless. unless
there's a reason to see another character from the same game, I have no
desire to see them or nominate them. if they get a new release or a
cameo or whatever, then that's a different story. but really, who cares
to see Robo? he's not going to deviate much from Marle or Frog (and
would probably end up lower than them). FF6... well, we already went
over that one, and we've got five FF7 characters that need to make
every contest already. as for an old bracket.. How is Mewtwo less known than any pokemon not named Pikachu? Halo ther SSBM and the first pokemon movie. | If anyone caught the fodder-less 64 character
bracket topic, it gave me an idea. Would probably never happen, but
imagine this: for a side contest, the board gets together and picks out
the 32 closest in strength characters for a bracket, probably low
midcarders. Then we watch the most unpredictable contest ever! And

I would like to see Magus return as well, if only to make some more
interesting matches. Same with Shadow and Liquid Snake. They're so
variable and their "true values" are rather up in the air, which could

I mention Mog because of his Moogle-esque status getting him votes more
than his being in FF6. But then I doubt he'll even be above the fodder
line considering how the most popular FF games here don't focus on the
