How do you take off 30 votes but only .01%? I was disappointed there for a sec <_<

Anyway, I'm gone for a couple hours. I hope Peach is winning when I get home.

Looks like Ceej is messing with the update times.

I'm not gonna change anything until it looks like they're permanent.

The updater was only offset by 2 minutes for about an hour, then it got set back to normal. That's all that happened.

It still seems indicative of something though, like Ceej checking for stuffing (or something). Wasn't the five minute update set up last year? Was it to prevent mass refreshing or was it a check against stuffing? Can it be both?

So, how 'bout those vote totals? We're currently just ahead of Samus/Nidoran F. Hardly inspiring for such a close match.

No, the GameFAQs updater was off since at least yesterday I think. I just added more updates in my script to compensate for it recently.

It still seems indicative of something though, like Ceej checking for stuffing (or something).

Hmm, interesting idea.

No one cares enough to cheat, anyway. If there really were that much cheating, vote totals should be far higher.

2005 might have been the hiccup for Samus. She was definitely above average in 2004 (remember, it was the Cloud/Samus match that finally got us over 100,000 votes again), but in 2005 she was more or less uninspiring.

They should never prohibit hot teachers from teaching anything. In fact, they shoud enforce it. I've had like, 1 decent looking teacher in all my years of high school and college.

Indeed, Cloud was the main mover and shaker there, heh...but even matches like Link/Crono and Mario/Crono were giving us, like, nothing. I was especially disappointed in the latter...it's like 2004 sucked all the magic out of the contest.

I guess this is it. Jill is looking like she can keep the lead another half an hour, and then die. I'm leaving now hoping that CjayC found someone stuffvoting for Jill (Because we all know that even if 98% of Peach votes are cheatvotes, CjaYC still wouldn't remove them) so at least I can laugh about it.

Wow, I've been keeping up with this match on gamefaqscontests.com (don't wanna let the man catch me on GameFAQs message boards or anything while at work). It's good to see that we can still have some dramatic matches with vote swings even WITH the poll change. Of course, contest vets still know what to expect, but it's still a good thing.

It's amazing how something like voter demographic can turn into a scientific study... even with something as abstract or opinionated as video game character popularity. You wouldn't think opinions would be this predictable, but yet we see it time after time. Group A likes character 1 this much more in proportion to Group B. Heh.

It almost looked like Jill hinted at taking the day vote around 1:00ish. She started to surge after her lead neared 1000. It would have been hilarious to see that Peach's main fanbase was the older "mature" crowd, while the "kiddies" spelled her downfall. Anyways, time to catch up.

RE characters just seem good during that time, for whatever reason. Claire looked legit vs. Kairi at that point and she ended up getting smashed by the afterschool vote.

it's pretty amazing how close this is to Kairi/Claire, really. RE knows how to choke with the day vote, that's for sure.

Wow, what a surprising match! What happened to Peach with 62%!? Well, there goes 20 spots in the Oracle! Oh well, it was obvious Peach was going to get 62%, if only there wasn't 12% of stuffed votes for Jill!

No one was calling for her to get 60%+, except for probably partystar.

And no! As much as Kairi is awesome, I expected it to be somewhat close! However, I completely expected Peach to blow out this...thing.

Too bad she doesn't have much a chance against Tifa. -_-

Aerith: Who would you go for? Marth, Roy, or Link? If you had to choose.

here's a review:

Peach wins the board vote: Jill is so screwed
Jill wins the overnight vote: Smurfy is vote stuffing
Jill wins the afternoon vote even bigger: Peach is so screwed
Peach wins afterschool vote decisively: the kids woke up

so yeah, you didn't miss anything of interest. the poll updater says it all.
