This is a school day. The morning vote generally comes fairly soon. About an hour, hour and a half from now. --- Take off every sig. |
Terran | Posted 10/17/2006 2:35:12 AM | message detail |
True, at the same time (and I don't know at all) wouldn't that give
Jill a second wind while most are at school? Say between 12-3? --- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo merge to create...Microtendony! "When the president does it, that means it is not illegal." - Richard Nixon |
Xuxon | Posted 10/17/2006 2:40:42 AM | message detail |
Yeah, and it's a little longer than that. Something like 9:30-2:30. Jill now has a lead larger than Peach's largest. Too bad it only took her like two and a half times as long to build. --- Take off every sig. |
NewLib | Posted 10/17/2006 2:41:21 AM | message detail |
Yes. Claire didnt even get the lead until the during school vote. --- --NL-- Z1mZum made me look like Toadette. And made me nominate her. |
SmurfFAQs | Posted 10/17/2006 2:42:42 AM | message detail |
That second wind was by far Claire's strongest time. I'd expect Jill to rack up another 1000 votes during that time. --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |
SmurfFAQs | Posted 10/17/2006 2:46:56 AM | message detail |
500 barrier broken and she'll soon be over 51%. --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |
Terran | Posted 10/17/2006 2:51:31 AM | message detail |
Jill got over 57% of the vote over the last thirty minutes. It's hard
to believe that her second wind would be much stronger then that. Of
course given how quickly Peach got her 400+ vote lead in the beginning
of the contest, it still might not be enough... --- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo merge to create...Microtendony! "When the president does it, that means it is not illegal." - Richard Nixon |

Heh, looks like the updater missed that one vote gain by Peach and it's now back in synch. --- Take off every sig. |

lol Peach. YOU WON NOTHING! --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |

Yes, but n00b, don't forget the afterschool vote. Jill sucks with it. --- Tifa vs. The Boss / Bracket: Tifa/ Vote: Abstain (34/35) Tomorrow / Bracket: Jill / Vote: Peach |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/17/2006 3:45:40 AM | message detail |
Hmm... yeah. I underestimated Jill's bad after school vote. In this match, she averaged about 55% with her best time in the night. Vs. Sheena, she averaged almost 66% in that time. But with the after school vote against Sheena, that fell all the way to 57%. So Peach just has to be as good as Sheena with the after school vote to start getting 53% to 54% of the after school vote. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

A 100 vote gain? Yes, I'm sure Jill is shaking with fear at that morning vote. -_- --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/17/2006 4:50:28 AM | message detail |
The morning vote is usually only half as effective as the after school
vote. The fact that Peach was able to cut into the lead just in the
morning should be cause for concern for anyone holding out for Jill here --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
HaRRicH | Posted 10/17/2006 4:50:38 AM | message detail |
Jill has done well for herself here...better was possible, but I'm sure
Jill will take this. I figure Peach will have the lead when I get back
to a computer (about 1:00 Eastern), but with a close match it's iffy to
try to predict patterns exactly. I will go ahead and call that Peach
will have the lead again at some point this match. --- http://wemajor12.myrockinprofile.com/ Next celebrity I hope to out-rank: Alyssa Milano (#44) |

Hot damn! I really wanted to be around last night for this match, looks
like it would have been fun. Damn good match so far, but I can't help
but favor Peach despite the 450 vote lead by Jill. --- I'm so hardcore. |
SmurfFAQs | Posted 10/17/2006 4:53:42 AM | message detail |
Peach was going 50-50 for most of the morning vote, only scoring a few small wins with the cutting edge of the morning vote. Which is only about a third as effective as Kairi was with it, and Peach certainly doesn't have the force in the day vote that Kairi has either. If Jill can go over, maybe 1200. I'd say that's game over. --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |
Terran | Posted 10/17/2006 4:53:46 AM | message detail |
Jill has made moderate gains for the past three updates. I doubt the
morning vote is over but all-in-all it's been reasonably mild. Still,
Jill doesn't have much of a lead to support her if Peach starts to
break out with any force. --- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo merge to create...Microtendony! "When the president does it, that means it is not illegal." - Richard Nixon |

Another intresting point is that Sheena performed twice as well with the morning vote than Peach did. --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |

It's not even 8:00 Eastern, I don't think it's fair to call it the
morning vote yet...unless we're talking about real early hours, in
which case, **** semantics, heh. By this time, Kairi had stopped dealing damage to Claire and they had started going 50-50 again. Sheena also stopped making % gains at this time. Whatever time you want to call it, Jill's weak time is over. --- President Of Board 8. (10/14/2006 onwards) |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/17/2006 5:01:48 AM | message detail |
Peach was going 50-50 for most of the morning vote, only scoring a few small wins with the cutting edge of the morning vote. Which is only about a third as effective as Kairi was with it, Uh, what? Peach went from 45% of the vote in the night vote prior to the morning, to just over 51% with the morning vote. That's a pretty damn impressive swing. To compare, Claire was only getting 52.5% in the night prior to the morning vote, and was reduced to 47.5%. The swings are almost equally impressive, but Peach actually has outdone Kairi a little here. Also Another intresting point is that Sheena performed twice as well with the morning vote than Peach did. No. Sheena only went from 66% to 63.5% from the night to the morning. That pales in comparison to both Jill and Kairi --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Terran | Posted 10/17/2006 5:07:04 AM | message detail |
I think your comparing the swings and he was just comparing raw data?
If Peach swings from 45% to 51% while Claire-related swing was from
47.5% to 52.5%, that may be a bigger swing for Peach, but it's still
better in the Claire match seeing as you'd rather have 52.5% then 51%. To put it another way, it's not as helpful if Peach just overcomes more if she had more to overcome to begin with. --- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo merge to create...Microtendony! PlatinumSmurf | Posted 10/17/2006 5:09:56 AM | message detail |
She may have swung at lot, but with her supposedly most impressive time, she was still only barely making gains. Which wasn't even nearly as good as Kairi's and Peach doesn't have a forceful day vote to rely on either. --- Smurf The Cream of Sonic Fanboyism |

I made a lot of typos making that last post I was in a hurry. Sorry. Anyway, I think you should also take into account the fact that going off of Jill Vs. Sheena, the morning vote was also one of Jill's best times. She only did a little bit worse with it than the night. Then she dropped off massively in the after-school vote, which was her worst time by FAR. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
Terran | Posted 10/17/2006 5:29:39 AM | message detail |
Is there much relation between Tales of Symphonia/Sheena and Super
Mario Bros/Princess Peach in terms of voters? And consider how much
Jill won that match by, even just comparing the drops/rises in
percentages, can you really take much from the Sheena/Jill match either
way? --- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo merge to create...Microtendony! "When the president does it, that means it is not illegal." - Richard Nixon |

Why are people comparing this to Kairi/Claire when it looks more like Hayabusa/Jill. --- "I was trying to escape. Obviously, it didn't work." - President Bush |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/17/2006 5:33:16 AM | message detail |
Well, you can take something. % swings are fairly consistent regardless of what the overall % is. and with the massive drop in overall performance Jill took in Sheena, you'd either have to view Sheena as someone who can give Master Chief a run for their money in the day, or you can attribute some of it to Jill just sucking then. Regardless of the relation between Peach and Sheena which we don't know, a drop from 66% in the night, to 63.5% in the morning to 57% after school isn't going to look good for her. Although, it's not like you can conclude for a fact that things will go like that. It's just an indicator. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
Terran | Posted 10/17/2006 5:36:02 AM | message detail |
Why are people comparing this to Kairi/Claire when it looks more like Hayabusa/Jill. Perhaps, though again, what relation in terms of fanbase/voters does the character from Dead or Alive have with Princess Peach or Mario Bros? To me it seems like the only thing they have in common is they both had close matches against Jill through 8:30am, and that alone doesn't mean that one will follow the same pattern as the other. --- Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo merge to create...Microtendony! Who Cares? | Posted 10/17/2006 5:37:27 AM | message detail |
So I see Jill is in the lead, very good for her. If this match
continues to follow Kairi/Claire trends, then she should have an
opportunity to build the lead as close to 1,000 as she can before the
afterschool vote hits. From there it's all about how good Peach will be
with it! --- Chun-Li's Road to the Female Final Four: vs Lara (October 21st) One down, two to go! *Currently playing Tales of the Abyss* |

anywhere as strong of a day vote as Kairi will and she will probably be
coming back by more. If you keep at looking at Kairi/Claire Kairi

If this match does follow Clare Vs. Kairi, then Jill should get almost
54% of the vote after the day vote ends all the way til school starts.
And if she does manage to do that, she'd be looking at a 2000+ lead by
the time the school vote hits. Although, given how Peach's morning vote swing was more impressive than Kairi's, I doubt Peach will let Jill get quite that much on her. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
