An unprovable trend, as there's little to no evidence that the
expectations were anything short of off-base. Yes, it's odd, but half
of those simply can't be counted on and the other half have significant
reasons for a change. I'd much sooner accept Kirby as overrated than accept the Prince of Persia as worth nearly 27% on BL. I'm pretty sure that makes him the strongest non-Mario or Sonic platformer. And it's much easier for me to swallow Bowser being overrated than Leon at 32.56% on BL - that's good enough to be a top 15 character! Not to mention a very healthy 5% more on BL than last year, which seems quite excessive. Alucard through Auron is significantly weaker than Kratos through Ryu - I'm not buying that, and Alucard loses a rematch even with a pretty generous KH2 boost for Auron if you take Ryu at face value. And, yeah, Tidus was an SFF match, but he was expected to get just over 42% and actually got just under 28%. Could it have been all SFF? Sure, but I'd wager Tidus is weaker than he appears. My expectations could be off, but I would hardly call that flimsy reasoning. Via 2k2: 13 Claire Redfield 30.11% Seems possible to me! Also, again, PoP is a completel unknown contestwise that has been around for soooo long and has 3 current gen titles to his credit. It's not that hard to beleive he could be pretty well up there. Sure, not that far up there, but that may just show that Kirby rSFF'd Bowser and likewise has the SFF afdvantage over Luigi. You know about the West Division Factor as well or better than I do, so don't bring Claire up. And, yes, the Prince could
be strong, and if that was the only weird thing I'd be hard pressed to
draw a firm conclusion from it. But there's four characters and four
matches that are difficult to swallow - that's what's giving me my
confidence. Kirby getting rSFF on Luigi isn't outside the realm of possibility, certainly, but I'd guess there's a pretty big difference between getting some rSFF (like Kirby appeared to against Bowser) and getting enough to actually beat your opponent (which probably hasn't happened). Plus, Luigi seems to be more well-liked by the Nintendo (or at least the Mario) fanbase than Bowser, judging by those wonderful "favorite Mario character polls." I'm not sure if he's more well-liked than Kirby, but it's still a plus. I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see Kirby beat Luigi, just like I wouldn't have been terribly surprised to see Zero beat Luigi. think he has enough going for him to win. I said at the beginning the winner of Luigi/Zero would go on and rush through Kirby, and give Sonic quite a fight, and I'm sticking with that myself. There's a better alternative - Link was stronger in 2k3 - but the end
result is the same. I find it difficult to believe that Samus, Sonic,
Mega Man, Tidus, and Ken all managed to get much weaker in the span of
a year, when I don't think we have any characters other than Jill and
perhaps Tidus that have experienced a long-term decline over four

And I'm a firm believer in Bowser being overrated, and Kirby through him, not because of any rSFF, and if there was rSFF, I still don't think it hurts his chances against Luigi. Either way it'll be pretty close, and it depends more on if Luigi/Zero was Luigi's strength, or Zero's weakness, and I'm definitely more willing to attribute it to Zero's weakness, with the possibility of say a 1% increase by Luigi. --- Portugal. even if you don't beleive that Link gained a thing from WW. Samus had a direct match agaisnt Link. Sounds suspicious to me, especially since she suddenly gained a huge ammoung of her "lost" strength back in 2k4. One must wonder how that can be. Also, feel free to ask yourself why Crash was weaker in 2k2, closer to his most recently released game, then he was in 2k3. There are simply too many inconcistencies PERIOD to be running around and making WDF claims, and chances are all of those drops are due to Link gaining. Most of the characters that gained between 2k2 and 2k3 were actually subject to faulty matches in 2k2 (such as Cloud vs. Mario) or recieved new games. Characters who did nothing dropped like rocks for no reason, and characters who were related to Sonic dropped pretty badly themselves, so don't bother pointing to him. --- If B8 were any more like the WWE I'd be getting paid for this message. Also, keep in mind that MvC2 was a BIG thing in 2k2, and wasn't in 2k3.
Ryu and Ken both had strong reasons to drop and I doubt you'd be
pressed into believe any of the other MvC2 contestants shoudl have done
