If Samus remained constant from last year, what % would she need to get on Ada to make Jade look worse than Tanner?

I don't know about you, but smaus getting 60% on Frog seemed impressive to me.

And Bowser bombing was WAY more about Leon boosting than Bowser being overrated. He was overrated last year, but nowhere near the level some people think.

This also makes me wonder what would happen if we were to get a cool Pokemon like Squirtle or Charizard into next year's contest. I could see Mewtwo being a midcarder.

"Samus kicking ass here. it's nice to see Samus look good for the first time in over a year. I was a little concerned, not to mention Leon looking so good a few days ago. makes me wonder about Bowser, even though it shouldn't."

Yeah, that Bowser match makes no sense whatsoever stats wise no matter how you look at it. A PS2 port that isn't even on the top game games/faq list for the system does not make a character that close to someone just under the noble nine.

Whoa... people still bring up the top 10 FAQs list?

And not only did the PS2 port help Leon, but didn't the GC version go greatest hits? We saw the same thing with Dante, I don't see how Leon boosting similarly is that surprising.

I suppose we'll see when Bowser/Crono rolls around.

That's the great thing about it being round 2 now, the round is half as long, so the matches to look forward to way over on the other side of the bracket are that much closer.

20%? Holy crap. I never would've guessed that low.

And what's with this about Jill>Peach being a crazy pick? Peach should be the favorite but Jill has some shot. At least 10%. Probably 25% or more. People forget how volatile things can be; a 10% shot to win is actually very, very low. No way that people would bet money on Peach at 1:9 odds, for instance.

Jill > Peach is entirely possible. It all depends on how weak you think Peach is.

I personally think Peach wins this match with ease, but I also thought Celes would beat Boss in a squeaker.

I'm just reading some of these figures that get thrown out, like 5%, and thinking "...the hell?" Clearly not from people with experience handicapping ;) It's hard to say just what Jill's odds of winning are, and there will always be that "partially pulled out of one's ass" factor for any such guess, but it's definitely higher than 10%.

Eh, I'm the exact opposite really. For whatever reason, I've become far more confident in Peach than I was before, which was already not worried about the match. I don't think Peach is going to be a powerhouse or anything, but she should at least be able to slip by Jill.

Overall prediction percentage: 20.27%

Congrats to the 2s! It was a tough match, but every one of them had Sub-Zero over Master Chief! This match was just a masscre. Lowest Round 1 prediction percentage ever and hit the top performers the hardest. 26 perfects and only ONE managed to get the match right. A prediction percentage in the low single digits. We may not have any zero brackets left, but the 1s were just decimated. Only one 1 bracket manages to survive this match.

Whoa, it's kinda early to be saying there's another Nintendo boost. People forgot that Samus is a beast since she got SFF'd by Mario. And this is still Ada Wong. It's the second round of a GameFAQs character battle and Samus is facing Ada Wong. I like Ada and all, but she doesn't deserve to be in the second round of a contest. Samus killed Lara Croft and Sam Fisher like this in 2k4. I really wouldn't expect Ada to be stronger than those two...

i wasn't talking about another Nintendo boost, mnm. i was talking about the same boost that kicked in last year. it was beginning to appear that last year's boost had worn off, but nowi'm realizing that Nintendo might still be pretty dominant. just not Kirby and Bowser.

To eliminate confusion, here are the various levels are fodder!

Hi - 17-20% (on BL)
Mid - 13-17%
Low - 10-13%
00ber - under 10%

Or so my own biases say; Ada Wong would most likely still manage to be among the "high" fodder by that definition. I get the feeling most of you consider 17% on BL far from high fodder...well, that give "high fodder" a little too narrow of a range, don't you think?

Woah at the prediction percentage! I can't believe that more people had Felix winning than Sub-Zero. Congrats to everyone who picked Subby.

Assuming Rikku beats Kairi we lose our only perfect! Wouldn't that make this the shortest time anyone has ever stayed perfect for? I'm thinking Master Hand/Kuja knocked all the perfects off, but I'm not sure about that one.

Now I'm excited for Sub-Zero Vs. Master Chief. That will finally tell us where the two stand.

I'm a bit conflicted about today. I love Ada and want her to do well, but I also love Samus and want to see her mercilessly crush everything that gets in her way. One thing this match does show: LUE/LL really did stuff the hell out of Nidoran F.
