Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

By popular, I mean mainstreamly popular.

13 year old kids have no clue who the hell SZ is.

If I walked up to a hundred 13 year olds today and asked them if they knew who Sub-Zero was, you bet your ass I'd be getting an 80% 'yes' rate. IT'S F'ING SUB-ZERO

1. DK was up by 2000, but at the end, MC was up by ~1500. That's a 3500 vote turnaround right there.
2. The votals for that match were significantly lower
3. DK is a freaking Nintendo character. Sub-Zero is a fighting game character who hasn't been popular since 1995

1. Point taken, though the further behind you get the harder it is to make that kind of a swing.
2. The lead is significantly larger here, too.
3a. DK is still one of the worst characters ever for gettin' votes in the second half of matches, Nintendo or not.
3b. Sub-Zero has been and is still popular since then, and today's proving it.

Over 4000. 1 hour 20 minutes to the after school vote.

Oddly enough, considering this is my first Board 8 influenced bracket, it's my worst round 1 of the 3 other contests I've entered.

To put in my two cents...MC has a slight chance of winning. I won't say anything more.

Anyway, the poll is on pace to get 130,000 votes...it looks like only Luigi vs. Zero will be higher, along with maybe Ganondorf vs. Vincent.

Actually, I've lowered my chances of MC winning to about 0.5%.

I just did the math and realized that even in the match with Frog, from 3 PM to 12 AM, he only got about 52.6% of the vote. Now, that was enough for him to tie it up because even though Frog had 53% of the vote prior, there were only 42% of the votes in.... so he had leeway.

Since we'll have like, 55% of the votes in when the school vote hits this time, even if he manages the same swing, he'll fall short.

Ah well...

Still aim for that 51% though

So in other news how much can Ada Wong manage to fight her impending doom tommorow. Well we gotta talk bout something til this after school vote and a Peach > Luigi argument is not something I'm willing to fight for right now nor a Bowser over Crono bout either. I would like to say Kairi and Rikku could be interesting but again I just dont feel like the arguing so lets all agree on how Samus will slaughter the somewhat decent Ada tommorow.

Also, has it really just been coincidence that the male bracket has been fun to watch? We've had:

Ganondorf/Vincent
Luigi/Zero
Bowser/Leon

And now this. About the only interesting match in the female half so far is Kairi/Claire. Every other match went exactly to expectations. Isn't it just weird how the male bracket has just been more fun to watch?

To compare to Kairi vs. Claire Redfield, Kairi started catching up almost immediately after 14:30, but MC hasn't even cut into Subby's lead at all.

This only holds true if you're talking about wins and losses. There have been plenty more matches that were surprising by the percentage the winner got.

But with the female bracket 'surprising' percentages were more or less flat-out expected -- with that much new blood, there's no way you're going to be able to predict vote margins as well as when you have previous contest data. The male bracket not only gave us a bunch of surprising percentages despite that, it gave us a number of upsets as well. And imagine if we hadn't had any previous data or contests to go on for the male characters -- it'd have been even MORE brutal.

The male half was just better. No arguing it.

I'm going to post this one last time for the hell of it

Vs. Frog

4:00 - 42.98%
5:00 - 43.37%
6:00 - 48.49%
7:00 - 49.05%
8:00 - 47.20%
9:00 - 46.78%
10:00 - 47.66%
11:00 - 48.00%
12:00 - 46.60%
13:00 - 47.93%
14:00 - 50.62%

Vs. Sub-Zero

4:00 - 43.59%
5:00 - 42.96%
6:00 - 48.92%
7:00 - 48.51%
8:00 - 46.85%
9:00 - 46.86%
10:00 - 48.16%
11:00 - 49.45%
12:00 - 47.76%
13:00 - 46.95%
14:00 - 48.19%

Overall pretty similar. But I get the feeling the next hour is where the similarities end.
