Scorpion *is* the most popular MK character worldwide...however, Subby
is more popular on GameFAQs for a number of reasons. Scorpion can be
annoying and obnoxious, Sub-Zero is just, well, cool. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

Subby fell off Castlevania's rate a bit in that last hour - 1449 for
CV, 1166 for SZ two hours into it. He's still looking at a very
comfortable lead by morning. --- Mustache...and green... http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/Top100.pdf |

Think of it this way... If we relate Pokemon to MK, the people that like Charizard (children) with like Scorpion, the people that like MewTwo (older, possibly more mature) will like Sub-Zero. Obviously this is merely an analogy, but it does sort of illustrate the mindset of the people that like one or the other. --- If B8 were any more like the WWE I'd be getting paid for this message. If you mark someone for flaming/trolling, you probably deserved it. |

Yeah.. MC looks like he'll actually scrape it out in the end, now that
we've gotten to see thim match go a little longer. I was shocked when I
looked at the score again and Subby's % had dropped a noticable amount
in a rather short time frame. --- If B8 were any more like the WWE I'd be getting paid for this message. If you mark someone for flaming/trolling, you probably deserved it. |

hmm... you'd think that as the night vote gets more pronounced, Sub would get bigger updates. kinda like Vincent/Ganondorf. I feel good about a 1200 vote lead in two hours though. I know not to ever count out Master Chief just because of how unpredictable he is, but a new game + a well-known character like Sub should make for a good day vote. we're not dealing with friggin' Donkey Kong here. --- xyzzy |
FastFalcon05 | Posted 10/12/2006 11:15:03 PM | message detail |
Well, and I'm just basing this off nothing than my own thoughts, Donkey
Kong was at least Nintendo. I'm guessing (hoping) he's not
superpathetic with the day vote because of that. Sub Zero doesn't have
that luxury, but then, the new game and the add I'm seeing as I type
this, could make up that difference. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

Eh, Subby's around the percent that DK was at the beginning of his
match except now with the earlier poll time we're not going to have as
much of a shift, plus he's got more night vote to work with. And he
shouldn't be as bad as DK was with the afterschool vote...I still think
he's got this. Though if MC turned this into a classic I would love it, and if he pulls it out that means I get to have my cake and eat it too! ^_^ --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

Oh, and bah at my oracle. I've had so much underestimation this contest
that I went for MC with a blowout in hopes he would rekindle my dying
predictions. At least some people saw this coming though. I remember almost being influenced to change my bracket because of certain arguments of this topic. Instead, I decided to do Claire>Kairi, and stick with gut feeling for the rest. Yay for choices. Sub-Zero has a nice lead and an unknown but probably potent day vote via his new game release. MC's day vote should still be quite powerful though. Although he doesn't have a game on it, 360 should contribute, however minutely, to some mainstream popularity. The real 'power' if you will that the 360 gives to MC is probably some stifling of anti-votes. Since it came out, there's been a huge drop of Xbox insults. Much of the 'hardcore' crowd, who'd still be up voting at this hour, are too stubborn to let go of their disdain and continue to anti-vote through the night. (or they are foreign voters where Microsoft has just never taken off) And I'm sure his day vote in the past had to deal with some amount of anti-voting as well. Although it wasn't as pronounced because of the influx of votes for him, I'd be willing to bet that most (of the few) votes he didn't get during the day were just late anti-votes. His past day vote and some decreased negativity towards him (and his game) should be enough to at least scare Sub-Zero sometime during the day. That, and I just typed "Pier Sub-Zero" rather then "Pier Soderini" in my essay. Maybe I should nap and come back later >_> --- Z1mZum>Redtooth Nice list, I counted twenty that would be in my top ten - BlondeAfroHero7 |

Master Chief is smoked. Compare, the following. Vs. Frog 3:30 - 43.62% 4:00 - 42.98% Vs. Sub-Zero 3:30 - 45.07% 4:00 - 43.59% Master Chief is almost doing as bad here as he was against Frog. Now, ask yourself: Does Sub-Zero's day vote suck as badly as Frog's? ...Yeah, I don't think so. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/13/2006 3:10:01 AM | message detail |
Oh, and I'm using Frog because it's the only match that meets the criteria of this one. Weekday with school in session. His match with Crono also fits the criteria, but still another Crono character. Actually, if Crono's day vote is better than Frog's, MC still has a chance. MC did better against Crono in that match in comparison in the day than he did against Frog. I have no idea what happened there, but if he can pull off a miracle like that, he may scrape out a 10 vote win >_> Oh, and Vs. Frog 3:30 - 43.62% 4:00 - 42.98% 5:00 - 43.37% Vs. Sub-Zero 3:30 - 45.07% 4:00 - 43.59% 5:00 - 42.96% The 5-6 time was actually WORSE against Sub than it was against Frog. Xuxon | Posted 10/13/2006 3:50:27 AM | message detail |
Sub-Zero's easily stronger than Falcon, but who wouldn't expect that?
PoP had a pretty good showing against Kirby I think, and Sub-Zero's
strength will only be known for certain if he beats MC, so I wouldn't
say for sure right now. But if Sub-Zero and Prince were to face off
tomorrow, I'd definitely take Sub-Zero. --- Take off every sig. |
