To me, Mortal Kombat is like South Park, as in it's only good for shock value and shouldn't be played/watched by anybody over the age of 10.

Have you like, not seen south park since season two? It uses more then just gross out humour now and has for a while.

South Park is smarter than most shows on television. Not its fault you can't see through the toilet-humor it throws in along with it.

Sub-Zero should push past 54% and have a 2,500-3,000 vote lead before morning. Master Chief could come back from that, but I don't think it's likely.

I liked that Master Moltar analysis for this match, that was good. More people should do that. Who doesn't like niche-community in-jokes?

Is that a joke? No character that falls behind by 6,000 votes is going to be able to create a swing large enough to cause a comeback.

If you were joking, disregard this post. >_>

The fact that every Nomination Rally winner is at least going to be cracking the fodder line makes me very, very happy. And Raiden would have had a damn good shot at crossing it, too (unfortunately, Nightmare would have probably been the stinker...although looking at Ivy, maybe not).

I haven't watched South Park since I was 10, save catching parts of some episodes, and it doesn't seem any "smarter" than it did when they based a Christmas episode on a talking turd.

Same thing with Mortal Kombat, it was fun when it was "OMG VIOLENCE = BAD!!!!!!!!!11111111111". I recently went back and played the original 3 MK games, and never realized how absolutely lame they were.

At any rate, MC choking is no shocker. I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow manages to break 53% in the new largest vote swing ever either.

No, it really isn't. It's clunky overrated fighter, that's about as fun as watching paint dry. Unless it significantly improved as a series since the ones on snes and n64, I can't see the new games being worthwhile.

An hour into its match with Halo, Castlevania had a lead of 774.
An hour into his match with the Chief, Subby leads by 693.

I think I'll stop doing this now, since the match has become obvious. Sub-Zero is on track for an insurmountable lead by morning, so even if MC takes the day this is done.

It does look pretty good for Sub-Zero right now. The only thing I'm struggling with is the idea of Sub-Zero being comfortably ahead of Donkey Kong. Yes, the ape has never been anything special in these contests, but still...

Yup. Had this taken place on a weekend, I think MC comes back. But this is looking really bad. MC's day vote window can only carry so much +vote capacity. I will say, that he probably gains very slowly, or at least 50/50s with Subby during school hours. So the key is for MC to stop the bleeding and get a gauze pad quick.

I am loving the people who say MK is only liked for the violence. that's like saying GTA is only liked because you can run people over.

...okay, maybe that's a bad comparison. but people do indeed like MK for more than violance, folks!

Where was all this Mortal Kombat love in the series contest? It could've replaced that sad joke that was Shadow Hearts. I doubt it would've done much with Resident Evil but I would've loved seeing SF and MK throw down once and for all. So throw Elder Scrolls or whatever to someone else.

I'm hoping for a Master Chief dayback, followed by a Sub-Zero nightback.

I liked Street Fighter better than Mortal Kombat. Didn't think Mortal Kombat's gameplay was that good. Playing with the ninja palette swaps was the only time it was really enjoyable. I liked to play as Noob Saibot and Sub-Zero. Johnny Cage was cool.

South Park has been hit or miss for a few years now. Mostly miss IMO. Intermittent gems surrounded by unremarkable stuff.

It's called "Board 8 controls nominations for the most part". And looking at the whaaaaa fest going on right now, I think it's safe to say that Mortal Kombat isn't too popular around here.

I think Master Chief will most likely do little more than split the day vote with Sub-Zero, stalling the vote lead mostly.

It's called "Board 8 controls nominations for the most part".

This is simply not true. Board 8's control over nominations isn't all that high.

It definitely isn't done until it is. Master Chief is not the same as Halo, in the same way Samus is not the same as Metroid. Is Master Chief really going to lose to Kerrigan? Games =/= Series =/= Characters.

Whaaaa fest? You don't think if MC was winning right now you'd have an equal amount of people whining about "lame mainstream FPS games" and "depthless main characters"?

That's what's kind of funny about this match, because any argument you use to support one is applicable to the other.

This was a combination of board 8 and the lue board, and is also somewhat solitary. If board 8 was all the influential seedings would a LOT different, this goes without saying. The good majority of nomination power is clearly out of board 8's hands.

I don't care about Objection!, there's no way I see PW pull that 4 seed without the board's heavy influence.

And the omission of certain things is just as bad. Halo as a six seed in the Series Contest? Sure, it might have been what it deserved, but that wasn't the typical Halo nomination strength.

Getting the low seeds into the contest is in the board's power, though. Soma, the Prince, Falcon, Subby, and Nidoran F are here because of Board 8, I'd wager, and they shut out DK, Knux, Magus, Ness, Kefka, and Vercetti, none of which are lightweights with casual nominations.

This is even more true in the series contest, because there was no front page nominating.
