Bracket percent for this match will be in the low 20's. We keep less than 5 perfects TuRtLe ~~~ I used my brain and statistics to make my bracket. Karma Hunter used MGS fanboyism. KH won. Commit it to memory. |

6-9 is still mostly night vote for the weekend. The weekend day vote starts at around 9, which is the time areas I tabulated. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
HaRRicH | Posted 10/13/2006 10:05:37 AM | message detail |
I figure it'll be higher than Halo/Starcraft -- though "2/7" is
technically close, that compared to the intimidation of taking the
upset in a "1/16" match is nothing. Also, Sub-Zero also should be a
favorite amongst bracket-makers against many opponents (though
certainly not all, of course). I would certainly think it will go below
Vivi/DK or Magus/Knuckles though. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |
THEJackSparrow | Posted 10/13/2006 10:06:26 AM | message detail |
Well, we've got one perfect confirmed to have Sub-Zero > Master Chief, so they won't be ALL gone. --- Captain Jack Sparrow's Run to the NCAA Character Contest II Championship: Week 3: W, 50-12 vs. Superman |
Karma Hunter | Posted 10/13/2006 10:07:50 AM | message detail |
All right, I'm back to see Sub-Zero still padding his lead with people
still rambling about a comeback possibility, Turtle defending Frog,
Leon rejoicing about actually calling a crazy upset right (clearly this
means MC is going to win), and... ...hmm, is the updater still slow? --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/13/2006 10:09:08 AM | message detail |
The updater was never actually slow. The updates were just happening at off times(03 and 07 to be price) Now the updates seem to have changed to close to their regular times, so the updater is alright. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Nope, the updater is fine now. But KH is right! I finally got my wacky upset to pull through! ...Heh, I almost went back and changed to Master Chief before bracket lockdown. But then I lost internet connection for the last week before the contest started and couldn't. Huzzah destiny! --- Squall Leonhart's Road to the Character Battle V Championship: Round 1: Status of Tidus - LIONHEART'D |

The updater is fine again, and MC's comeback chances are not gone yet.
We do need to see how the after school vote goes; it's not entirely
impossible at this point. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
RydiaOfTheMist | Posted 10/13/2006 10:10:04 AM | message detail |
Well i wouldnt exactly count out the MC yet especially seeing the kairi mess! Sub still has to survive the school vote and that may not be an easy feat. Then again Halo didnt really have much of a day vote in the series so maybe MC jus sux this bad LOL! All hail Sub Zero for giving us all the best show thus far! |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/13/2006 10:11:35 AM | message detail |
Wouldn't it be funny is Sub-Zero actually started doing better after school let out? Har har har --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Seriously, Master Chief isn't coming back now. He's got nearly twice as much to overcome, and he's got less than 11 hours to do it. He has to turn around 351 votes every hour from now to win. --- Squall Leonhart's Road to the Character Battle V Championship: Round 1: Status of Tidus - LIONHEART'D |

The hilarious thing is that if MC does come from behind to win, everyone will be completely surprised. It's as if nobody's ever bother to look at any of his previous matches. Or maybe it's as if you never bothered to look at Halo/Castlevania. The day vote was never a guarantee. I won't be SHOCKED if MC came back to win, but it would be pretty surprising. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

I recall some frantic refreshing in Frog/MC when we was doing 100 in

Keep in mind that when MC was ripping DK to shreds, the best he was

But even when MC was doing that, he had already taken off around 500
votes from DK. He had already been gaining. He's not even gaining
ground right now. By the time it actually gets to the point where he'll
gain (1-2 hours), he'll have to be getting even MORE than that. --- Squall Leonhart's Road to the Character Battle V Championship: Round 1: Status of Tidus - LIONHEART'D |

LeonhartForever | Posted 10/13/2006 10:21:13 AM | message detail |
Indeed, capitalizing the word isn't going to make it happen. The fact
that Sub-Zero is going to hold him off will. People holding out for a
huge MC comeback at this
point are just kidding themselves. By the time we get to when he should
start gaining, he'll need closer to 400 votes every hour. Yeah, try pulling that off in the last 3 or 4 hours of the poll. --- Squall Leonhart's Road to the Character Battle V Championship: Round 1: Status of Tidus - LIONHEART'D |

MC gets another small update If he can keep this stalling up, and rocks enough with the 3pm vote, he still has a very realistic chance. TuRtLe ~~~ I used my brain and statistics to make my bracket. Karma Hunter used MGS fanboyism. KH won. Commit it to memory. |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/13/2006 10:22:37 AM | message detail |
In Frog Vs. Master Chief has was able to swing 500 votes at his peak If you account for the increased vote totals, that would be the equivalent of over 700 votes per hour in this contest. I mean, I don't think Sub-Zero is going to suck it up as badly as Frog by a long shot. But when the peak hour hits, he definitely has the potential to give SZ a scare. It won't last, but it'll still give a few unexpecting people a heart attack That is, if he can pull through on it. The after-school vote may fizzle out and he may not even get a significant swing... --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
LeonhartForever | Posted 10/13/2006 10:23:04 AM | message detail |
*sighs* I'm not even going to bother. This is even worse than Halo/Castlevania. At least even Lopen had given up by now. --- Squall Leonhart's Road to the Character Battle V Championship: Round 1: Status of Tidus - LIONHEART'D |

LeonhartForever | Posted 10/13/2006 10:25:42 AM | message detail |
Because he does have it in the bag. People are overcompensating MC's day vote. Sub-Zero just got a 56% update. Keep thinking MC's going to turn around 4000+ votes in less than 10 hours, especially when 40% of those will come during less lively hours of the poll. --- Squall Leonhart's Road to the Character Battle V Championship: Round 1: Status of Tidus - LIONHEART'D |
RydiaOfTheMist | Posted 10/13/2006 10:26:19 AM | message detail |
Why is this so hard to foresee for some of you i want Sub to win too but that doesnt mean Sub has finished MC. Sub is being stalled at 1pm US east. 3pm or even 2:30 we could see what is a stall now turn into MC gains. 6:00 all schools are out and Sub is probably gonna have the fight of his life on his hands by then. We saw Kairi turn a deficit at this hour into getting huge updates on Claire dont be shocked if MC does the same i mean KH and Halo run the same wavelength the Hardcore fans are kids and thus they get antivoted early on because of it. |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/13/2006 10:26:48 AM | message detail |
Hey, I admitted the chances were under 3%, and that I expected it to end around 51%. Why am I being ragged on? *kicks Leon in the mouth* --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
Xuxon | Posted 10/13/2006 10:26:57 AM | message detail |
Nah, you only look like an asshat if MC actually
gives Sub a scare. We're the ones more likely to look like asshats,
predicting a possible comeback double the current largest with only 3/8
of the poll left. --- Take off every sig. |
LeonhartForever | Posted 10/13/2006 10:27:27 AM | message detail |

Lucid Faia | Posted 10/13/2006 10:28:15 AM | message detail |
Less than three percent? You mean zero percent. Sub-Zero has a 4000 vote lead. The largest successful comeback ever, to the best of my knowledge, was just over 2000 votes. The. Match. Is. Over. --- 2nd Place, Spring Contest 2005 Elite Gamer (see quote). |
BlAcK TuRtLe | Posted 10/13/2006 10:30:34 AM | message detail |
Since the match began I've said it was entirely possible for Sub to run
away with this, but to discount Master Chief completely before the day
vote even takes effect is sheer lunacy. Kairi turned enough votes with the after school vote that would allow MC to win, and IIRC, that match had much lower votals. TuRtLe ~~~ I used my brain and statistics to make my bracket. Karma Hunter used MGS fanboyism. KH won. Commit it to memory. |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 10/13/2006 10:30:37 AM | message detail |
Well, that comeback from 2200 votes also ended up with MC with a
comfortable 1400 vote lead by the end.. in a match with 99000 votes. If you account for the fact that the match is projected to end at nearly 130,000 votes, a 3600 swing becomes 4500. Which is exactly how much he'll be down by by the time the school vote hits. The odds are extremely slim, and everything has to go perfectly. But it's not 0%. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |
BlAcK TuRtLe | Posted 10/13/2006 10:31:56 AM | message detail |
Sub-Zero has a 4000 vote lead. The largest successful comeback ever, to the best of my knowledge, was just over 2000 votes. 1. DK was up by 2000, but at the end, MC was up by ~1500. That's a 3500 vote turnaround right there. 2. The votals for that match were significantly lower 3. DK is a freaking Nintendo character. Sub-Zero is a fighting game character who hasn't been popular since 1995 TuRtLe ~~~ I used my brain and statistics to make my bracket. Karma Hunter used MGS fanboyism. KH won. Commit it to memory. |

I am not a number. I am a person. At some place, at some time, all of
you held positions of a secret nature, and possessed knowledge that was
invaluable to an enemy. Like me, you are here to have that information
protected... or extracted. But unlike me, many of you have accepted the situation of your imprisonment, and will die here like rotten cabbages. The rest of you have gone over to the side of our keepers. Which is which? How many of each? Who's standing beside you now? I intend to discover who are the prisoners and who are the warders.
