If you're talking about Nomination Rally winners, no way I take Leon
over Tifa...if you're talking about characters that wouldn't have made
it into the contest otherwise (and you can still make a case for Tifa,
at least last year)...eh, I think Leon would have made the cut last
year, even if it were to be at a 7 or 8 seed. Heh, Lloyd or Ocelot getting upended by Leon would have been pretty cool to see. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

I dunno, its hard to tell whether Bowser is just a little overrated, or
if Leon is just showing some improved strength. Maybe some of both.

also, weren't you calling for him to outperform Mega Man, HM? or at
least get close? to say this is all RE4 -- revisionist history! even
more than I'm used to out of you! My prediction for him was about 63% at the time. Looking back, breaking 60% here would have been really impressive for Bowser. Leon benefiting tremendously from RE4 should be a no-brainer for basically everyone. It was like the game releasing all over again when it came out on the PS2 -- and that's going to be huge. Bowser may not beat Crono, but he's definitely going to give him a scare!! --- "That's a cruel, rotten, disgusting idea -- and I love it!" |

I'm of the opinion that it's Leon boosting, seeing as how RE4 for just
the Gamecube less than a year after it was released was already #14 in
the Top 100 List (*insert EC cheers*) and has since been released on
the most popular system here while selling more on the Gamecube since
then. Bowser probably didn't boost any, but he's not had any reason to
legitimately drop in strength unless he was over-rated last year...and
even if he did, I'm skeptical on how much since Bowser's had other
impressive performances last year (like every match he was in except
when he faced Revolver or Kirby). --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

Well, there had to be some sort of snapback. Seriously, Leon went crazy
powerful all day long (compared to expected Leon). That had to give. And who'd have expected the PS2 version to make this much of a difference? --- If B8 were any more like the WWE I'd be getting paid for this message. If you mark someone for flaming/trolling, you probably deserved it. |

Turd of the round is easily Celes. She was expected by many to have at
least a close match with The Boss if not outright win, and she gets

Well, there had to be some sort of snapback. Seriously, Leon went
crazy powerful all day long (compared to expected Leon). That had to
give. And who'd have expected the PS2 version to make this much of a difference? People were being delusional with their picks for this match. Even if I didn't think Bowser was overrated, Bowser has a hard time breaking 60%. After seeing what a doubling of Kratos' sales did (yes he was also underrated last year), no one should have expected a small boost from Leon, especially when his game has more than doubled its sales since last contest. --- mmm feel the vibration baby |

We don't know that until we see how Luigi does next round and if he performs good against Sonic. You can say that about ANY character. You can say that Squall is going to beat Link soundly and that Tidus is actually now looking better than ever! From a standpoint of RIGHT NOW, Zero is definitely a top contender for the Turd of the Round. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

It doesn't matter how Luigi fares later - Zero bombed badly this round. I'm not sure who I'd call the turd - Celes, Tidus, Zero and I suppose Bowser all really disappointed, and Phoenix let the universe implode (though he certainly impressed and doesn't quite deserve it). --- I know you love me...
