This puts Luigi at about 35.8% on BL, which is above Vincent in 2005. ...yeah. Even if this gets tamer (it will) and allotting for some NSMB boostage (I'll allow it), this doesn't speak too highly of Zero at all. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

This is terrible. GameFAQs goes from being impressive with their choice
to doing something on the level of Master Hand > Kuja. This is

Yeah, Luigi is one of three characters you would think would boost the
most from DS-ownership since SM64DS, MKDS, and NSMB are the three
biggest games on it (with Mario being right alongside him). Then again
though, you would think Yoshi would get a big piece of it too since he
has one or two games on the DS while being a big part of SM64DS and is
playable in MKDS (I assume)...not to mention NSMB is still his fanbase

Even so, that puts Luigi a bit too high for my liking. It's a bit too high, but I think this percentage comes down a bit by the end of the match. This should still be considered far more Luigi than any decrease of Zero though. NSMB should be ignored. Why would Luigi boost if you can only play as
him after beating the game and entering a code, plus him being
basically a green Mario? The absolute only way NSMB is helping Luigi is if it's bringing a hell of a lot of new Nintendo fans to the site, which is very doubtful as this site is already run by Nintendo fans and a few Nintendo characters have shown weakness already. --- - Why the hell did I bet against a character as deep, awesome and badass as Lara Croft, instead favouring a character from something as lame as HL2? Forgive me, XIII. |

life. This is less people doubting Luigi than it is logical conclusions drawn from both their previous contest strengths. I also want to point out again that Mega Man and Zero both got
lower-than-expected seeding this year, and Roll only got an 8-seed as
well...and Axel did impress on Mega Man while Zero's failing the stats. No guarantee the Mega Man crew is dropping, of course, but signs are out there suggesting it. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

By the way, I hope this match cements the fact that the 2003 stats are
worthless now, and should never be used in arguments ever again.
Ganondorf, Magus, Zero, all three of them are supposed to be as strong
if not stronger then Snake, and all three of them have been busts this
contest and last year. --- - Why the hell did I bet against a character as deep, awesome and badass as Lara Croft, instead favouring a character from something as lame as HL2? Forgive me, XIII. |

life. Hey, I've called every one of Luigi's matches correctly up to this point -- and I took Squall out of belief in his strength, not Luigi's weakness. Stats aside, I just couldn't believe voters would prefer Luigi to Zero...but, it seems like the eternal understudy is finally meeting some of those expectations laid out for him long ago... --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

all. I really wouldn't jump out to say that Zero decreased by much again. Sure, he may have done so by a bit, but this is just all Luigi right here. NSMB being the result of the boost explains everything about Luigi perfectly. (LEAD OF 853! BROUGHT IN 56.62%! GO LUIGI!) NSMB should be ignored. Why would Luigi boost if you can only play as him after beating the game and entering a code, plus him being basically a green Mario? We should ignore the immensely successful MARIO PLATFORMER on the hottest system out right now? NSMB did shoot up the FAQ charts when it came out, so you have something pointing to people here liking it. On top of that, it sold incredibly well, was received very well, and DS ownership is at a whopping 55% here as of the latest "Got XXX?" poll. It's the first new Mario platformer in years and it was a good one. I also said that I would start seriously considering Bowser to have a shot at Crono (it's like 2%, but it's a shot!) if Luigi won here. He's not only winning, he's winning with *ease*. Luigi winning the night vote is downright surprising, even to me, the
biggest Luigi supporter/overestimater around. I wonder if it'll hold
past the first hour...probably not. As of now, Luigi isn't all that far
away from outdoing Mega Man, and I don't think he'll end up doing worse

I doubt it would increase Luigi anywhere close to being this much
stronger then Zero. He was basically Mario, just painted green. You can factor in a Zero decrease if you like. The fact of the matter here is that this is Luigi. The final percentages aren't set in stone, but it's just silly to ignore NSMB. The Mario series as a whole has made a rather glorious comeback here lately. They've been all over the place in great games and it makes sense they would benefit from that. I mean, if Luigi boosted from that game, you might as well say that Bowser boosted 10 fold! Though I sure hope this Luigi talk is just kidding around. Luigi ain't
pulling a Shadow (assuming he even gets to Sonic), and I'd expect Sonic
