Picture or no picture, Bowser proved his mettle to me in that match in every way. I'm defaulting to him because, no matter what the circumstances, he is the only competitor to have ever truly endangered the Noble Nine. Snake also received that same picture against Frog right? and it's hard to blame them. Yikes; this isn't exactly how I had wanted to wake up and see poor
Ganondorf doing. I still have limited hope, but, it just isn't looking

I still stand by Bowser > Ganondorf because he still gave Snake a
scare, bad picture or not. Ganondorf isn't even making this match

Snake also received that same picture against Frog right? No, he's never had quite *that* picture again, though you can argue he was still at a considerable disadvantage: Snake/Frog: http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=53 Snake/Bowser: http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=6&pos=66 But remember this was a stronger Snake -- 43% on Mario >>> 43% on Mega Man -- and Frog could have fluked for any number of reasons. Bowser over Ganondorf has been pretty clear to me since their first
contest appearances. Course I'm a bit biased to Tha Bowz(points to big

I still don't see why Aeris would be more popular than Tifa... About the same strength maybe, but I don't see Aeris being more
popular. And I still think Tifa is the more popular FFVII character.
She's with you for nearly the entire game, and she has more things that
would bring more casual appeal (b00bs, kicks ass, major part in Cloud's
development, etc.) I really don't see what would give Aeris the advantage over Tifa. Equal footing at best. I put the differences in Aeris's and Tifa's performance on Sonic all on the blue blur. He definitely was stronger than he was in 2k3, so it was expected that he did better on Tifa than Aeris. I don't see why Aeris's small role in KH would make her that much more
popular. She boosted slightly in 2k3, but I would put that on the
Square influx more than her being in KH. Put Tifa in 2k3 and she

I don't see why Aeris's small role in KH would make her that much more popular. I really don't see Tifa leaps and bounds over her. Just a simple cameo in KH, especially when looking at the insanity that Cloud/Sephiroth/Squall did, probably gave her a modest little something. Heck, I'd even wager Tidus' role in KH gave him a tiny increase or so, though we'll never know. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

nah, you'd need to get a bandwagon going first. I doubt Samus is the
favourite that Sephiroth was either. it could happen with Tifa/Aeris
though since they're from the same game. kinda like how Sephiroth might

Why are so many people putting Squall ahead of Vincent now? I doubt that Squall's role in KH2 is gonna give him more of a boost than Advent Children and Dirge of Cerebus. There are tons of people who say, "I hated Squall in FFVIII but loved Leon in Kingdom Hearts" and that sentiment is what I think helped give him such a huge boost. Unless he has another large and different role in Kingdom Hearts 2, I doubt he wins that rematch. In regards to what Kingdom Hearts did in 2003: A) I think it's more likely that new-school Square characters benefitted HUGELY from a boost in casual voters. It's not like they were the only ones to get big increases that year. B) Even if you do believe in Kingdom Hearts Factor, it never said that characters boosted because of their roles in Kingdom Hearts alone. Kingdom Hearts Factor, as it was originally defined, was that newcomers saw the characters in Kingdom Hearts and that made them run out and play previous Final Fantasy games with said characters in them. Over time, this has turned into Kingdom Hearts characters getting all of their boosts in 2003 due to their roles in the game alone. Now, I'm not saying the original Kingdom Hearts didn't give characers boosts somewhat, but I just think what happened in 2003 is a lot more complex than what some people credit it to. --- Z1mZum totally owned me in the July 2006 Guru Contest The Funky Chickens in Trivia XVIII |

I don't see Aeris/Yuna getting nearly as much SFF as Squall/Tidus.
Aeris isn't exactly cool, and Yuna has 2 main character roles. Compared
to Squall and Tidus, one of the girls isn't way way cooler than the
other. Yuna can even use teh cool gunz, and Aeris is just like..."I

To be fair, Sora hate in 2k3 was about as high as it ever was...came
with the KH hype, much like hate of Tidus with FFX hype. While Sora may
have performed like a stud against any other opponent, he was PRIME for
the doubling by Aeris. I don't think Yuna will get completely destroyed...at least, looking at Marle. --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

there's a big difference between CT and FF10 though, not to mention
that an FF8 lead just smashed the FF10 lead. if FF8 can, I'd think FF7
has a good chance of doing so as well. I don't believe a CT character has ever been SFFed. After KHII, would any of you take Sora in a rematch with Aeris? I'd
probably stick with Aeris, but it would be much closer than it was last

Marle actually gained ground with the day vote (percentage-wise)
against Aeris, though that was an odd one. I'd expect Marle to be at
least stronger than Magus and Frog though by virtue of who she is (like
Tingle, it's not that she has a day vote, just a much weaker night
