I have a feeling we won't be losing many perfects. --- Character Battle Score: 21/21 Today's Pick: Gordon Freeman |
ShadowOwns | Posted 10/3/2006 12:07:43 PM | message detail |
Did you see how many perfects we lost when yoshi beat Riku? It was
pretty obvious that yoshi was going to win and yet we lost a whole hell
of a lot of perfects. This match will be worse because of phoenix being
the 4th seed and GFNW. --- 2 days! Lovin Oil Country. |

Well I'm losing my perfect, didn't really believe it but couldn't
resist. Still better than going through the series contest and going
down with something as stupid as KH>Metal Gear. --- Should I start running now? |
EvenMyROgetsB7 | Posted 10/3/2006 12:17:10 PM | message detail |
Very happy to see Gordon where he is right now, and can someone please
tell me why everyone was abandoning GF like his strength he showed last
year is all but dissipated? I mean, it was pretty damn obvious that PW
was going to be tremendously better with the night vote, and the
linkage on the PW site has become far more apparent than before. 57.5%
right now for GF, and possibly more? I'll take it. --- I'm so hardcore. |
EvenMyROgetsB7 | Posted 10/3/2006 12:31:37 PM | message detail |
Also, I think the 0's are gonna take a much harder hit than the
perfects. I just see the 0's being only board users, and most of the
ones who go for it aren't all that into contests, that plus fanboyism,
plus GFNW, and I think the zeros are in for a hard hit. --- I'm so hardcore. |

In my ongoing quest to believe that Yoshi will still take down Dante,
how well (because, again, this is completely related) will Axel have to
do on Mega Man to restore some faith in Yoshi? Okay, so that's a desperate stretch, but what are people thinking for tomorrow anyway? One on hand, he's just Axel, but he's somewhat of a fan favorite, and he is the fourth Kingdom Hearts character in this contest; that does show some devotion. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |
Haste_2 | Posted 10/3/2006 1:08:30 PM | message detail |
I once did some x-stats based on the day vote/night vote...I think I
used 4-6 hours of the night to create x-stats, then divided that by the
regular x-stats to calculate the night vote. All I remember is that
KOS-MOS and Ryu were among the best with the night vote. To restore some of my faith in Yoshi, Axel will need close to 30%. If Axel gets 35%, I'd call Yoshi the favorite, easily. Too bad there's no way Axel gets 35%, and I doubt he'll even approach 30%. --- Sign the Petition for more stats in the GameFAQs Contests here: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=30693799 |

than during school, and a bit better than in the early morning. Here

UltimaterializerX asks, "What would happen if a contest poll ended in a tie?" The earth would collapse in on itself, destroying all life as we know it. I have no idea. It's highly unlikely, but possible. Also addressed in today's Grind. ICTOAN asks, "Have you ever thought of making the contests registered users only?" No. The whole point of the contest is to act as a promotion for the site, by bringing in new users, getting other sites to link to us, and so on. Requiring registration just to vote would drive users away, and it wouldn't really swing the final tallies that much (except in a few cases, and you have to admit, those were some of the more interesting battles we've had). Huh? I'd never heard CJay admit outright that the Contests exist primarily for site promotion. In fact, in the past he's taken an official stance on it being "unfortunate" that massive linking/rallying was taking place, but that there was nothing he could do to stop it. He should have brought up Pokemon/Xenogears in defense of the registration idea. --- thengamer.com/xstats - "lol x-stats," The Contest Simulator thengamer.com/gamefaqs - The Contest Archives |

I think this match is telling me that Gordon is not performing at his
2k5 level today, though I also think Phoenix is doing better than he
should due to cheating/rallying. Though if the reasons for Gordon 'underperforming' are tied to the nature of his character, we could see him look better in this year's stats than ever before. Like a fodderific Master Chief! --- *kills self* Commit it to memory. |

And Gordon hits 58%! ...for the second time! As for the contests, I think it's pretty obvious why he does it. It brings site activity up, and increases our userbase, the only reason he can give away money for these contests, is because the new people contests bring in help him make more, even if he isn't technically the owner anymore.
