A special edition of the game that was sold for $20 and nearly
doubled the sales of the game in America! Gee, I bet that didn't
persaude the people on the edge of buying the game thanks to its
cheaper price and all sorts of extras! No way! (I bought DMC3 thanks to
the special edition for the record) ...so, Snake with a comparable MGS3: Subsistence boost? And Squall boosting a bit thanks to his role in KH2? Whew! No way, guys! I know I was hearing Squall not boosting much from some people here... --- Commit it to memory. |

...so, Snake with a comparable MGS3: Subsistence boost? Perhaps if it had sold more than a measly 150,000 copies while its main game sold over 1.3 million whereas the special edition of DMC3 sold nearly 400,000 while its main game sold about 400,000. I know I was hearing Squall not boosting much from some people here... ...I missed this. Where in the world were people saying that Squall wouldn't boost? Maybe they were taking his current overrated value and thinking that if Squall were to boost he'd be stronger than Snake, which is a touchy thing here for people. Hey, I'm expecting Vincent, Squall, and Dante to all regain what they lost from it being overrated...just not boost from those current values. But, hey, if people want to think Vincent and Squall are going to be equal or above the lowest Noble Nine member while Dante is near-elite then they can go ahead!! So...you're expecting sales to translate that linearly? I didn't hear this from you before, Mr. 58%! I expect Subsistence to provide next to nothing for Snake while DMC3: SE to provide a solid boost for Dante...which is what anyone should expect. It'd be silly to think that Dante would get nothing from this -- but I can see why one might think that when they believe the Devil Division wasn't overrated! And my flaw came from believing that Zero was underrated through Mario for whatever reason. I never found it to make any sense, but I went with it along with the possibility of Ninja Gaiden: Black helping out -- in retrospect, I'm not sure why I thought that would amount to anything. Right now, I'm regretting changing my pick of Luigi over Zero! Yoshi was (and is still!) in range to take Dante, without factoring in any silly boosts. Hey, hey -- I wanted to take Yoshi over Dante (Yoshi > > > Dante!), but I have a hard time believing that "Luigi is Yoshi's floor" stuff. Plus, even overrated Dante gets back to around his 2005 level with the Special Edition of his best game. Does Yoshi/Dante occur after the Wiil launch??! Like I thought, Dante's boosted up past his level in the 2005 stats
thanks to DMC3SE and DMC3 original's increased sales over the past
year. I certainly expected him to get as big of a boost between 2k5 and
2k6 as between 2k4 and 2k5, so this match fits fine with the Devil
Division being overrated. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

Excellent job by Dante. I'd guess he ends up slightly higher than Zero
managed, since I think Zero and Dante have rather comparable day/night
votes...slightly better in the night, but not bad in the day. Things
are looking pretty grim for Yoshi next round, unless you think Riku
could beat Ryu Hayabusa with like 59%! Ha! But now watch Yoshi win,
anyway... Oh, and it's looking even more likely that Zero's value was legit, of course, or else this brings Dante almost to Snake's level or someone like that. Hayabusa should gain some in the day, but it still shouldn't be alot
more -- Dante should match about what was expect of him by the 2k5
unadjusted stats. I think DMC2 becoming a Greatest hit and DMC3:SE
being released since the last contest helps the case of the whole
Devil-Division-is-over-rated theory if Dante doesn't do any better than
just match those numbers...but, the better he does then the better he
looks against Yoshi too (obviously), so we'll see what happens. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

I'm not even going to dignify this crap with a response. ladies and gentlemen, your analysis crew! nice showing by Dante here early on. I expect this to fall down to about where Zero had Hayabusa though - this match started earlier, but Zero actually had a similar percentage at the beginning of his match with Ryu. plus, who can forget the first ten minutes of Dante/Vincent? that was maybe my favourite part of the last contest. 63.xx seems to be a good guess for where this ends. Dante > Zero? interesting thought. I don't necessarily feel worse about having Zero > Luigi right now though. I still feel that Zero has the least amount of reasons to be overrated by the stats. (older stats that is, not 2k5 of course) the whole Devil Division thing? also inconclusive at the moment. I wish we had Knuckles or Magus so we had someone else to rely on. if we get Snake / Dante and Snake / Squall, that's really going to suck. we might have to rely on... Terra?! I'd expect Dante to increase his lead until morning, followed by Ryu gaining until the last second of the poll. Hayabusa's no Chief, but he's not a slouch either. --- xyzzy |

Ryu is a character 2 years past his peak, who has no sticking power and
the only reason he keeps coming back is that Xbox fanboys have little
else to nominate. After both their round 1 opponents, I'd happily accept that neither Yoshi nor Dante got any significant gains. --- My World is still Smurf! |

Dante will probably end up ahead of Zero here. Ryu's day vote is
exaggerated. He didn't really do any better on Zero in the day than he
did the night. It was merely Zero's strong opening vote that allows him
to push ~66% to begin with. From the first hour of the match on, Zero didn't really do any different. It always fell between 62 and 64%. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Yeah I said it. <_< I agree, getting Yoshi VS Dante is just another 2 points, getting Ganondorf VS Vincent right is status :) And I'm once and for all going to show that Sonic has nothing to worry about against Ganondorf/Vincent. Lets start by seeing which common opponents Ganondorf and Sonic have had. Against Samus: Sonic: 42.49% Ganondorf: 40.34% Against Diablo: Sonic: 68.55% Ganondorf: 65.20% And what about Vincent. Against Dante: Sonic: 62.03% (Before Dmc2, Dante had a horrible picture) Vincent: 54.00% (after Dmc3) Sonic has almost for sure got better since 2004, which shows that we shouldn't worry about Vincent. Then there's Ganon, but just as I said before Sonic should've gotten stronger than in 2004, now I expect him to break 45% on Samus. Also Sonic will be the big bracket favourite in this match. Ganondorf and Vincent are so screwed. --- Supporter of Alucard. |

you're looking at Samus / Ganon as if nothing Weird happened - it did
unless you think Samus would now beat Sephiroth. (I guess you could say
only the Sephiroth match is messed up, but just look at the values for
Ganondorf's fourpack and... well, yeah. we'll see with Yuna and Auron
this year, though again you can pin it on KH2 AHHHHH) 2005 Dante was clearly stronger thanks to DMC3. it's not even a fair comparison. --- xyzzy |

well, so much for voting trends that make sense. instead of gaining
percentage since the sun came up, Hayabusa has actually LOST 0.75% in
the past 4 hours. Dante looks stronger than ever!!! although, it is
entirely possible that Hayabusa has weakened a bit from last year. i'm
not sure why he would, but it's possible. i will say that this match
makes me more nervous about Zero and Yoshi, but more confident in
Vincent, though! --- i have officially been Z1mZum'D in the guru contest. Vincent Valentine to win the Blast Division!! |
