Soma is gettin' his **** blown straight out. I won't call it SFF, but I will call a blow-out like this unexpected. Blow out, sure, but not like that...but Solid's day-vote may help that. Isn't this what Solid Snake always does in round 1? in 2003, he totally killed Raiden with 82% (But that could be some SFF) in 2004, he looked like he could take down Link thanks to Tanner. in 2005, he did got 84% on Manny, which should be a little stronger than Yuri. Now he makes Soma look weaker than Nidoran F. Anyway go Snake! Seeing him winning over Samus would be freaking awesome! --- Supporter of Alucard. |

Awesome performance by Solid Snake today. Here's hoping it's an
indication of more strength on the part of the man who makes the

Wow, right now going strictly by 2k5-adjusted stats, Soma is projected at 13.10% on BL. Snake's kinda weird. It's like he overperforms on fodder (probably
because he probably gets the least number of anti-votes of all the big
guys), yet seems to struggle against some people he has no business
struggling against (Bowser, FROG, of course during the sprite round). I
think it's one of those cases where there's a lot of people who know
him well enough to vote for him over fodder without being in-your-face
enough to earn any anti-votes, but once he goes against someone that's
actually known he loses some of that fanbase, probably because while
he's well-known he's not necessarily most people's favorite characters.
And of course his crappy sprites. Thus, Snake can easily score some
really impressive blowouts (y helo Tanner) yet struggle against Frog. Crazy stuff. That said, I still wouldn't pick him over Sonic or Mega Man. --- Hispanics 4 | Whites 5 Asians 5 | Blacks 4 |

...So you're trying to say that Solid Snake isn't a big favorite for people? That's...interesting. At the 9:15 mark, this match has 37851 votes. I would certainly hope Ganon > Sonic gets more discussion than
Squall > Snake, though it's not *impossible* for Squall to pull it
off. Snake isn't known for his blowouts however, despite what some people would have you think. The fact that he's doing to Soma what he did to freaking Raiden (which people considered an underperformance) should raise eyebrows. Though I do chuckle at the few who thought Soma would be a point or so under Alucard. <_< --- Commit it to memory. |

Going by the stats, he doesn't need much of a boost at all. ...this is one of the reasons I distrust Squall's X-Stat ranking, by the way. I'm sure Snake would be the favorite even if he had ended up below Squall in the end. --- Commit it to memory. |

There are plenty of fans of AoS/DoS who can't STAND Soma, and just like the game for the gameplay. I shot down all that Soma = Alucard strength the moment it was brought up. And I LIKE the guy. AoS/DoS doesn't have nearly enough of a fanbase to make its characters heavy hitters. I'm sure they helped out Castlevania as a series, but its characters by themselves? Nah. Alucard's strength...unless Snake mysteriously boosted to Link's level

As for Snake/Squall? *Looks at Snake get at least 59% against Knux, even in his worst year* *Looks at Knux get 46% on Squall in 2k5* I'm sorry, I know there's that whole "Snake was holding Knux back" theory along with him boosting from 2k4 to 2k5. Technically, Knuckles is projected to go 50-50 with 2k4 Snake.
Something I don't really buy out of him, though it may be simply him
being overrated as opposed to Squall. It's not like Snake became incapable of taking down midcarders when Frog gave him a fight, after all. --- Commit it to memory. |

Looking even more at Squall/Snake/Knuckles... 2k5 Squall beats 2k3 Knux
62-37. If Squall was supposedly underrated the whole time since 2k3,
and Squall 2k3=Squall 2k5 then that means Knux boosted almost 10%

Honestly, if I wasn't worried about Snake overperforming on Squall, I'd
have probably taken the upset chance. It's not as farfetched as you
might think. Squall really
doesn't get enough credit. Remember that Kirby got 48%+ on Bowser, and
Squall beat him the year before. Of course, I'm not calling for 55%
again, but I'd still take him to beat Kirby. And by that mark, he's not
far from Solid Snake as it is. Factor in KHII, and you've got a fair
