Even if Yuna beat Chun-Li by about as much as Bowser did, in the
x-stats that would still put Kasumi with a slight edge over Roll O_o Doubling her would make them about equal in the stats. ....yeah --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

Lara's new game -- Tomb Raider Legends -- sold extremely well, too. I
hadn't realized it until I just checked up on it, but the game sold 2.6

You're overrating the hate factor here. Lara Croft still DID win

I'm not saying that she will not be fodder, but this is the first game
she'll have had released in about six years, I think. It selling
extremely well and being given plenty
of high scores and released across all the major platforms can only
help. No way she doesn't get a boost from something like that. It'd be

Well the last "old game" she had that didn't completely suck was back in 1997 or 1998. I mean, look at Gordon. He was terrible in the first contests because his last game was around that time. A new fresh game with him and whoopie-doo above the fodder line. Now, the new Tomb Raider game surely ain't no Half-Life 2, but considering Gordon's monsterous jump it doesn't really need to be. --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

well to me it's like Madden - it can sell 7 million copies but it's
still going to get blown out by 90% of the games out there. granted TR
hasn't had a release in some time, but I don't think it's going to make
-that- much of a difference. I think Lara doubles up Alyx regardless. --- xyzzy |

I never said she was more popular then him. She's definitely more
popular in HL2:E1, and has a chance to be in HL2. Gordon still has HL1
to back him up, plus the other two which will definitely make him

TR games generally sell well, yes, but it's hard to recall the last Tomb Raider game in recent memory that was good. Legends kind of takes care of that for her. It's not like she needs it, but I don't see how you couldn't expect a boost out of Lara from that game. It's not going to take much to boost her. I'm not really sure what to make of Lara/Alyx (besides that Lara's the
winner). She couldn't blow out Chop Chop Master Onion back in 2k2. I do
think Alyx would be stronger than him, but is Lara still as hated as
she used to be? Not that it matters. Chun Li's kicking her ass next round. --- My bracket is so screwed. |

Look at Gordon's 2005 number. He most likely boosted from Episode 1, so he could be even stronger then that. Lara fell like a rock. Her 2004 number is legit, and she probably fell even more in 2005 (no proof). I believe Legend brought her back up to her 2004 level. Gordon would beat her with a little bit more then 67%, not including a HL2:E1 boost. Alyx could pretty safely fall somewhere in there. --- - "ertyu is actually a language. Anyway, I hope Kasumi gets this under 68%... I cursed Kasumi, so I'm afraid it won't happen. =p (see the spread betting topic of Chun Li/Kasumi) Alyx Vance's sole purpose in this contest is to keep the universe from imploding by losing for Gordon Freeman.
