Even if we have a good value on Ganon this year, we won't have a good
value of Yoshi, because after Riku beats Yoshi and Dante, Snake will
SFF him into oblivion and make Yoshi look like crap again. >_> --- caps |

I don't recall there being anything suspect with Tidus last year.
He may a bit overrated, but that's the area he's going to be around. Explain how somebody can go from being on the brink of the noble 9 in 2002 and 2003. Living up to that reputation aganist Shadow, and choking horribly aganist MM. Then being handed a serving from Kirby, when it should have been him giving out the serving. You don't go from a near noble to midcarder, especially when the characters from your game have remained consistent. I mean, if Tidus's 2005 performance is legit. It's not like Ceej announces when the sprite round is. If he had for
2k5 you can bet Bowser would have had more support from this board
against Snake on paranoia alone. Villains - 2nd round (32 field) 2005 - Elite Eight (darn you cjay) Series - 2nd round (32 field) --- Commit it to memory. |

2003 - Sprite Round was the Sweet Sixteen 2004 - Sprite Round was the Sweet Sixteen 2005 - Sprite Round was the Elite Eight It's always in the later rounds for a 64 entry bracket. The trend is usually, full body pics followed by face shots and then the sprite round. ...and if Ceej uses the Sprite Round in the Elite Eight like last year...Snake gets it against Mega Man. when it should have been him giving out the serving. It is the sound of being overrated in 2003! Magus made Ganon and Tidus both seem like they were stronger than they actually were. What happened in subsequent years is that Ganon increased while the other two remained overrated -- but due to 2004, they were given their 2003 values. I mean, if Tidus's 2005 performance is legit. Then Yuna, Auron and Rikku > Tidus. wtf? Auron should be higher, much higher. That explains 2003. But what about 2002? You don't break 40% on a character more popular than Cloud if you aren't worth anything. And in 2004, Tidus performed according to his x-stat against Shadow. WHOA, just noticed something from the 2k5 stats that I should have caught long ago: Bowser (2005c) VS Tidus (2005c) Bowser has a strength of 36.54. Tidus has a strength of 29.63. Bowser wins with 59.46% of the vote! A win of 16,941 with 89,586 total votes cast. Ganondorf (2005c) VS Yuna (2005c) Ganondorf has a strength of 33.64. Yuna has a strength of 26.10. Ganondorf wins with 61.21% of the vote! A win of 22,033 with 98,301 total votes cast. ...I'm liking Bowser > Ganon much more looking at that. --- Commit it to memory. |

Not *too* far off, sure...but that close?
And note that if Kirby is overrated AT ALL, Bowser gets that much
closer to G-dorf's percentage on Yuna? Heck, Snake/Bowser doesn't even
factor into the equation here. ...I would have probably taken Bowser over Vince, though. Bah! --- Commit it to memory. |

For a bit more reasoning to that, Yuna is featured prominently in two games, one of which she is the main character. It helps that she is both likable and
really good in battle, too. Tidus gets the nod between the two,
definitely, but Yuna after FFX-2 should be near Tidus, I think. The two

KH, to me that makes Bowser and Ganon look dead-even, and not so much at favoring Bowser... ...but then, once I factor in Kirby... ...yeah, I agree, Bowser should have the small advantage after all, heh. It would still be a matter of whether Bowser's fanbase would be too loyal to give up the advantage to a leech like Ganon...or if LoZ's dominance everywhere else on this site (and generally elsewhere on the internet too Nintendo-wise) would give Ganon a big enough nudge to overcome that, alongside Ganon > Bowser in SSBM. Yeesh, I've been on both sides of this arguement before, and I don't know which one's actually right...but by the next contest, Ganon > Bowser is a lock anyway. This year though, man, no telling who finishes ahead or if one finishes far enough ahead to call it a safe win or not. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

It's harder and harder for me to see Cortana pulling out a win. If
anything, pictures matter *so* much more in a fodder/fodder match...and
I can't see too many people voting for that thing on the match picture. I mean, yeah, I'm voting for Cortana...but I'm a massive Halo mark. I have yet to vote against Master Chief, after all... --- Commit it to memory. |

Cortana is basically the voice that talks in Master Chief's head
constantly throughout the game -- giving him advice, telling him where
to go, making smart quips, that sort of thing. She's an AI construct,
and is actually fairly important to Halo's single-player
storyline...thing is, this is a game that's played mainly for the
multiplayer. I would vote Cortana over the Chief in a heartbeat, but aside from anti-voters I'm definitely in the minority on that one. --- Commit it to memory. |

I don't expect Cortana to be strong or anything, but I'm still
surprised there hasn't been more debate over this match. I can't
understand why Perfect Dark Zero is expected to turn X-Box voters
against Halo. I mean, Halo is to X-Box what Zelda is to Nintendo, is it
not? And sure, the original Perfect Dark was a great game in its day,
but does anyone still care about it today? Joanna might win, but I

I actually think Mario SFFd Joanna, due to her biggest game being on
the N64. If OOT can do it to Goldeneye, then what's to stop Mario from
