The afterschool vote hasn't been having much effect lately. I'm
thinking it will show itself again this match, but even then, winning

Also, I find it sad that Zelda got more votes on her own than
Terra/Kerrigan did overall. That's a sign that next round will be ugly

Does anybody think it's possible Aeris/Marle ends up worse than Zelda/Carmen? Peach/Daisy? Samus/Nidoran F? Ehh, I don't think Aeris is going to break 80% next round. I mean, even Lavos is expected to get 28% on her based on the Villains Contest. Sure, I know that's tentative ground, but he did get 45% against a character who's been in a Summer Contest before in Liquid Snake. Also, according to the unadjusted stats last year, Terra should get
27.68% on Zelda. While Zelda will probably be stronger than last year
and the Devil Division could be over-rated (I think so, at least),
getting 80+% is a big stretch to make. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

As of right now, Zelda is projected to get 72.34% on Terra based on last year's stats. If she can pull the tripling, she's getting into Solid Snake territory, as he'd be expected to get 74.78% on her. Either that, or she's overrated, one of the two. Zelda pulling a quadrupling would put her over everyone except Clinkeroth, unless Terra is overrated by a lot, so...don't expect that much, heh. --- "...And then they made me their chief." - Captain Jack Sparrow |

Ahh, this is good to see, Amy getting rocked. And I didn't realize Terra is expected to get 27% on Zelda '05. Yeah, Terra looks pretty constant, but we don't really know where her
constant value is at for sure. I'll take Zelda to get 76% or 77%, but
much more than that and **** gets scary. If Terra needs no adjusting

I'm extremely confident in Zelda at least
pulling off a tripling. Terra being lower than the stats indicate is
what I'm personally expecting, plus I think Zelda has got a nice boost

And, man, the Zelda series has Final Fantasy's number. It beat Final Fantasy last contest, Link is always beating Cloud, Zelda has three
Final Fantasy characters lined up, Ganon beat two Final Fantasy
characters last contest and is looking to take care of another this
one, Ganon puts up a really good performance on Sephiroth, and Link's

Knuckles is really the only one that sticks out, so it could just be him. However, you can't lower Magus too much without dropping him below Tidus either, so...)! Dante's 5% boost sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I don't buy DMC3 helping him out that much when it didn't even sell well until that Special Edition rolled around. Sure, if his number was just based on Terra or something, I'd agree.
But he got 46% on Vincent, who got 45% on Crono. I personally found the
Devil Division overperformance logic to be rather lame anyway.
Personally, I couldn't see an AC leak doing THAT much for Vincent.
Really, the only thing that could have happened is Dante overperformed

That's kind of what I thought she would do from the beginning. I

It's not that KOS isn't strong, but the Sonic fanbase far outweights
that of Xenosaga's. Basically the match was more about how liked Amy

- I think Terra will do "okay" vs. Zelda - that is, about a tripling. I don't think that's that bad. - Aeris won't get 80% on Marle. I don't think she'll even get 75%. Marle might not be the most liked CT character, but she's still from a game that resisted FF7 SFF, for the most part at least. if Aeris gets 80% on her, I'll chalk that up to Marle bombing instead of SFF. --- xyzzy |

Really, the only thing that could have happened is Dante overperformed
on him, and based on Terra/Kerrigan, it doesn't look likely. Well, it isn't as though it would have to be massively overrating Vincent and the Devil Division. Sephiroth looked like he got something from that leak, or at least some type of boost from when we last saw him, and Cloud benefiting a bit wouldn't be too surprising either -- this would be harder to see because of a small Link increase that year. If we go with the leak helping Vincent and some possible rSFF accounting for, like, 2% then everything still stays looking good. Dante's 5% boost is knocked down to 3% -- still more than DMC2, but not nearly as extreme -- and Magus is still slightly above Tidus. These two should have plenty of reason to stay closer to each other than Ganon and Magus/Tidus. They would stay near equal with the nod to Magus. Terra drops down to 16% on BL, Kerrigan drops to 13% on BL -- there should be no difference in how that match plays out based on an overrated division. Terra being overrated by that division would put Zelda getting 75.55% on her if she remained constant. Account for a solid boost for Zelda and she could get 77% without things being extreme. It did just as much, if not more, for Cloud and Sephiroth. Yeah, because we can prove what it did for Cloud because he was in so many matches last year. As far as Sephiroth is concerned, I'm not even going to take the Final Four of the Villains Contest seriously. | Whining, sure, but it was based more because there
wasn't any other official artwork than just "it's a bad picture". I
hope CJay does that another time or two for other characters who are
notorious for bad pictures (Solid Snake.....), then, you know...never

| The original Kerrigan picture was goddamned
pathetic, and this is coming from somebody who hasn't played Starcraft
in years and probably never put more than two hours into the
single-player mode. I know the head-shot wasn't going to fit the theme,
but the pic that made it in was still notably better than that purple
beast. Hardly made a difference percentage-wise, heh, and it very well could be chalked up for random variation from year-to-year or day-to-day...but it did Kerrigan more justice. --- Damn, most of my dates involve mocking and/or beating up people like you and your bride-to-be, so I really have no advice --Horatio |
