Heh, I wonder if this says anything about Peach. Peach has Kart/Party/Smash/Sports/etc. on her side, as well as SPP and SMB2. But even if she weren't playable in all of those games, she'd still kick the **** out of Amy Rose. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |
MarioSuperstar | Posted 9/21/2006 9:32:45 PM | message detail |
I'd take Peach over Amy, yeah. But I honestly see Peach's ceiling possibly being.. Ness? --- KOS-MOS vs. Amy Rose / Bracket: KOS-MOS / Vote: Amy Rose (9/10) Tomorrow / Bracket: Aeris / Vote: Marle |

Mac Arrowny | Posted 9/21/2006 9:37:42 PM | message detail |
But I honestly see Peach's ceiling possibly being.. Ness? Seriously? I'd see Peach as stronger than Ness even if she just had Kart/Party/Smash/Sports/SMB2/SPP on her side. The rest of the main Mario series just kicks her up even more. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |
Heroic Mario | Posted 9/21/2006 9:37:48 PM | message detail |

Xenosaga 3 just came out. I predict a boost for KOS-MOS, especially from Christian Fundamentalists (you have to play the game to get it). |
Xuxon | Posted 9/21/2006 9:41:08 PM | message detail |
I think Peach is about even with Ness, and her ceiling is Diablo. Like, that Jill will beat her and it won't be all that close. --- Take off every sig. |
MarioSuperstar | Posted 9/21/2006 9:44:47 PM | message detail |
Ness has both SSBM and the Eartbound fanbase.
Peach only has cult Mario games and SSBM. The only reason I can see her
stronger than Ness is simply being liked more than him. Pretty obvious
Peach is already known more than him. Though, using this logic.. DK being her ceiling does make a little bit of sense. --- KOS-MOS vs. Amy Rose / Bracket: KOS-MOS / Vote: Amy Rose (9/10) Tomorrow / Bracket: Aeris / Vote: Marle |
transience | Posted 9/21/2006 9:51:56 PM | message detail |
yeah, her floor is well below DK.. maybe even below Ness, though I
wouldn't go that far. but her recognizability + her mad skills in SSBM
+ Mario 2 + every other Mario spinoff gives her the potential to be in
the high 20's on BL. let's take, say, Marth. just being in SSBM probably puts him at around the fodder line. why would Peach go below that? Ness isn't much above the fodder line as is and he's got a cult RPG on his side. heh.. this makes me question Ness / KOS-MOS. I'd take Ness. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |
MarioSuperstar | Posted 9/21/2006 9:58:06 PM | message detail |
I guess I'd take Ness since I see him being around maybe 23-24% on BL?
No idea. He's somewhere near the likes of Tails, Scorpion, etc. --- KOS-MOS vs. Amy Rose / Bracket: KOS-MOS / Vote: Amy Rose (9/10) Tomorrow / Bracket: Aeris / Vote: Marle |

Peach only has cult Mario games and SSBM. ...oh, you mean cult games like SMW, SM64, SMB1, SMB2, and SMB3? I know you mean the OTHER SMB games, but Peach simply being in the main series is just as crucial to her -- if not moreso -- than being playable in the other "cult" Mario games (excluding SSBM, because it's both big and not really a Mario spin-off). --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |
transience | Posted 9/21/2006 10:16:44 PM | message detail |
yeah if Mario 2 is cult, I'd like to hear what some mainstream titles
were for the NES. I'm fairly sure Mario 2 would be in the top ten most
known games on the system. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |

SMB2 was one of the highest selling games for the system, too. I
suppose that kind of mentality would come from how it was such a big
divergence from the original and is usually regarded as the "black
sheep" of the series. --- "Master using it and you can have this." http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/160/masterjg3.jpg |

KOS-MOS doing better than I thought she could, even considering that Amy will probably have a big day vote swing. Maybe Xenosaga 3 helped after all, or Amy is even more pathetic than I thought. --- www.gamefaqscontests.com www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |
HaRRicH | Posted 9/21/2006 10:29:00 PM | message detail |
I bet both. Dr. Robotnik was expected to get 39% against KOS-MOS from
last year, I believe, and I've made a plenty good enough case already
why he's stronger than Amy. It only makes sense KOS-MOS gains after
such an apparently crowd-pleasing game, too, though I also wonder how
new it is and how much it's sold. Even then though, if it stays like
this, I didn't think the ass-beating would be like THIS -- maybe push
the doubling and that was all for me, heh. The day-vote should help a
little, but not like it does for other Sonic characters..... She still gets 45% on Mario though. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

I'd love to hear some sales figures. XS3 has been lauded all over the
place by its fans, but I just don't see how it could draw new fans. the
only thing it could do is bring fans to the site. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |

I agree on Peach's ceiling being DK. She would beat Ness easily. He's
too niche, and in a universal explosion of irony, the "Earthbound is
too cartoony" vote would go to Peach. --- NP: SMT: Nocturne, Pokemon MD:BRT, Okami lavkian=PWNing people left and right - justinra |

XS3 has been lauded all over the place by its fans, but I just don't see how it could draw new fans. For what it's worth, the latest PSM recommends skipping the first two games and just jumping into the third one. Eh, well, I wouldn't put too much account into the spin-offs. Those are the ones I call 'cult'. Mario Kart isn't that weak you know. And I'd bet that the Mario sports games would be far more popular on GF than any other sports games. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |
