as KH and others have mentioned before, it's possible that Something Weird happened in Snake/Squall. KH?! I was the first one bold enough to proclaim that! Credit where credit is due! Honestly, who else would you think would make an argument for Squall looking as strong as possible? And I really don't know why people are surprised this match is going according to the stats. I've never bought into the Fodder Fluctuation Theory myself. Heck, before Tifa/Vyse, cult fodder characters were generally regarded as very consistent because of their core fanbase support. I suppose it's because few people generally regard Tifa/Vyse to be an overperformance despite what that would mean (Laharl > Vyse and Vyse >= Ramirez, and no, I don't believe Vyse got 60% just because of bracket voting). Besides, Cloud/Vyse went almost exactly as expected. I personally don't see any reason for fodder to be widely more inconsistent than anyone else. And to catch up on the female snubs that was talked about earlier...I
keep saying it, Riona, Yuffie, Cammy, & Lyndis would've been nice
additions to this bracket. You can't tell me a Yuffie vs Yuna/Rikku match wouldn't have been the most debated match on the female half. I still think Riona/Peach would've made an very interesting 1st rounder. And I really wanted Cammy to come in a do well, as it could have been a springboard for get Akuma to finally get in one of these things. Well, crap. My perfect survives, but I had hope, however slim, that
Kerrigan wouldn't be bad fodder with a decent pic. Ah well, now Snake

Weird...you're the third person I've heard complain about that picture...I haven't played the games, but I always thought it was a pretty good picture. Does the Sonic fanbase even care about Amy Rose? I hadn't even heard of
her until just recently, and I've known all of the other Sonic
characters for ages. NOTE: I am not implying, in any way, that Mega Man fans care about Roll. I just wanna know about Amy Rose. |

By the way, we should totally rally for Liquid back into the next
contest. I know he bombed completely, but barely avoiding a tripling

The KH Factor is probably the one factor I believe the least in. I
can't see cameos boasting characters several percentage points. I just
can't. Probably because it's the most overblown "factor" ever. It couldn't possibly just be the result of votals doubling, from the previous year, no that would make too much sense. It's not like other characters don't change drasitcally from 2K2 to 2K3 who aren't Square characters either. Simply attributing it to KH and KH alone makes you look silly. Sora, a character not all that strong (he has strength, I know), is the lead from KH and still isn't all that powerful, yet the game is responsible for causing 8%, 10% and 12 % boosts? But I'll be intrested to see where Amy fits in. Before or after Eggman? Using the most recent stats, the predicted outcome on KOS-MOS looks like this. I took the most recent ones. KOS-MOS took a dive last year, Sonic characters gained a hefty boost. KOS-MOS has a new game, but so does Sonic. Sonic Rush. But that's not where it ends for Sonic characters, they have hype of Sth, Wild Fire and Rivals. There's more going for Sonic characters than Xenosaga characters.
