So the common consensus on why we don't care for Terra/Kerrigan is because it's a wasted match? I'm tired, cranky, and have to finish writing a paper, but sometimes I can't help but wonder if we don't appear more than just a tad insatiable to cjayc and any outsiders. So you get some bad matches; it happens every year! I feel like the complaining, and especially the complaining in the stats topic, has gone up since the series contest (because that was predictable, too, especially since Zelda won and all, and lol nintendofaqs(because we all predicted that)) and hasn't stopped. Yeah, there was a female bracket side, but it's just 1/2 the bracket! There's still a whole other half, which on paper at least allowed for a concentrated amount of good matches. Whether or not you think that happened/think it could happen still is up for debate, but geez, at least it's different. It wasn't as if Terra/Kerrigan wasn't debated; whose fault is it that it turned out to not be close? Who are we whining at? And we already had a really close match in Kairi/Claire. I don't particularly care if it didn't end in a nailbiter; not every match can! To summarize: blahblahblahtoomuchwhiningidon'twanttowritemypaperetcblah --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

Yeah, there was a female bracket side, but it's just 1/2 the bracket! This is where your argument falls apart. It wasn't as if Terra/Kerrigan wasn't debated The only reason it got as much debate as it did in the first place is because this half-bracket is so BAD. This was the expected result, the X-Stats are holding up so well that is considered the surprise. --- Commit it to memory. |

from having a female bracket. It's an okay twist in theory, but so was

you're the one that asked us to be more excited. can't blame us for being realistic in that it was a matchup of two fodder characters. no one is really complaining here, at least not that I've seen. It's likely due to the fact that I'm sleep deprived and have a paper to write. The female bracket largely was not embraced at all, and the continuing criticism/hate it gets are just starting to get to me, especially at this late hour. I think there has been significant complaining, both due to the suckiness of the characters involved, the predictability of the matches, the way even close matches turn out to be predictable because of established trends, things like that. I sort of feel that we're expecting way too much out of these contests and might even be dismissing it before it even gets really going. well for me, I like watching matchups between good (strong) characters. personal preference plays pretty much no role here. the girls in this contest are far inferior in that sense to their male counterparts. that's why people are down on it, not because the girls themselves suck. (though that part is kind of implied given that no one cares about them) we could be watching Knuckles vs. Shadow or something, but are instead forced to endure two weeks of fodder matchups waiting for the good stuff to happen. you can call it complaining if you want, that's up to you, but there's only been one match you could call good so far this contest and the female bracket is most likely to blame. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |

Yeah, I'm happier than ever that Ceej decided to make the "other"
contest a Series Contest rather than a Female Bracket. An entire
contest of these females would be far worse than the Villains Contest
could ever hope to be. It would almost be an insult if the Top 50
wasn't totally comprised of perfects. Nothing could be worse than the Villain contest. Aeris/Zelda alone is more interesting than the entire Villain contest was. --- CATS's Road to the Character Battle V Championship Round 1: Sonic |

Any game with "Episode III" tagged onto it, is not going to attract new people to the series. Also, check out her seeding. A 3rd seed. Which means that she would have been unlikely to qualify for a normal bracket, which means that she got less nominations than usual. Which again doesn't bode well. Can you agree that if KOS-MOS performs like she did last year, she'll lose? So she's relying on a boost to win.
