Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
http://sc2k5.com/drupal/node/11

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

it's going to be the same bad FF6 art and the same bad Kerrigan picture. we've seen this all before!

I don't really care who wins that thing.. hopefully those 24 hours go quick and we can get one day closer to the boy bracket.

and the female bracket will get better... it's just that the first round is full of some bad, bad matches. once we weed out the mega-fodder it'll be a bit better. Peach-Jill is a good match, as are a few others.

..well, better than the riveting Joanna Dark / Cortana matchup.

It's a good thing we didn't get a seperate female contest with no guys in sight. The girls are boring. Only Kairi/Claire proved to be anything interesting (aside from maybe Samus/Nidoran for comedic purposes).

Yoshi/Riku could be interesting, and Phoenix/Gordon is the match everyone's waiting for.

I for one will be glad to see the universe implode so the old and no longer funny GFNW fad gets killed and the poor guy can earn a little respect.

Yeah, I'm happier than ever that Ceej decided to make the "other" contest a Series Contest rather than a Female Bracket. An entire contest of these females would be far worse than the Villains Contest could ever hope to be. It would almost be an insult if the Top 50 wasn't totally comprised of perfects.

I'm not really concerned about the Terra/Kerrigan match since Terra does rank higher than Kerrigan in the 2005 X-stats by 3.4%. A huge majority of the Oracle Challenge participants are choosing Terra to win this one.

agreed - the series contest was mostly boring, but it was far better than any other gimmick contest could have been such as girls or a tag team contest. it's no game contest, but it wasn't bad. bad bracketmaking and only 32 entrants really hurt that thing, though I'm not sure if there are 64 series' that deserve to make such a contest.

then again, Shadow Hearts made it so I guess anything's fair game.

Why do you think they're doing that in the first place? For all the criticism of "lol x-stats" that goes on around here, 99.9% of this board still follows them like sheep, and they'll do it most of all in a match that's projected to be close (Sonic/Crono, anyone?). I guarantee if Kerrigan had ranked higher than Terra in the stats even by a smidge, you'd have a sizable majority taking her to win this match.

Though it'd go against my bracket, I'm sorta hoping that Kerrigan pulls this off. It'd serve the hypocrites right.

Agreed! It's been one part bad fodder, one part poor bracket placement.

And since nobody's really been talking about it, what does everybody think about how well KOS-MOS will do against Amy? This match is suddenly beginning to bug me a little bit...

I mentioned the Rose upset in the last topic, and the only response was that Rose would do worse than Crash Bandicoot.

But I really expect that match will be a lot closer than everybody expects. People keep talking about the recently released Xenosage Ep. III, but they forget that KOS-MOS dropped after Ep. II. Keeping in mind that Sonic fans are rabid on this site and Kosy is still one of the more obscure characters, I really think Amy can pull it off.

it's certainly possible that people will vote for Amy out of not knowing who KOS-MOS is.. but from what I understand, no one cares about Amy Rose at all. she's like Peach times ten.

I dunno what to make of that match. Amy could win it, but I don't care to entertain the idea because I just don't know what to make of her. KOS-MOS at least has a new game out in the last month and has shown to be around the fodder line.

KOS-MOS scares me because I'm not sure if 50% of GameFAQs even knows who she is...her losing to Pac-Man, for instance, wouldn't be out of the question for me. She beat Crash, but a complete unknown could put up decent numbers on that has-been...

And seeing as how that's KOS-MOS's only win, I'm a bit wary. Still, it's only a bit...I tried to convince myself that Amy could do it, but there was no way I could take that upset.

Obviously, but the same thing can and has been said about Yoshi as it pertains to his match with Dante. KOS-MOS has either been in matches against bottom-feeder fodder or people that simply outclass her. Against someone around her own strength, she's just not battle-tested.
