I'm thinking probably fact. For some reason or other CJay decids to
stick with pictures, like that CD-I Zelda one thats been on her last

CJay's changed themes in the middle of a round before, if nothing else.
Plus, remember all the hell given about Arabusa in 2k4? In 2k5, he got

CJayC seems to be going with half or full body shots for the first
round pics. I bet he recycles Kerrigan's picture from last year; it

Speaking of Hayabusa, anyone think he can do well on Dante? He put up
37% on Zero in 2005, and he's underrated. He's also had a new game
since the last contest. I'd say he can break 40% at least if he gets

Maybe I'm just a Carmen fanboy, but I just can't see her being bottom-level fodder like this implies. I would wager that it may be a bit of that and a bit of Zelda increasing from last year. I could see her increasing a percent or two within the past year, which puts her at ~34% - 35% on BL. but right now, just barely over Yuri (is she even still above Yuri?!) At this point, Yuri's projected to win with about 53% on a constant Zelda. And I think we need to get Carmen a higher seed in 2k7 so we can get an accurate read on her. I know she's my pick if I win the Guru. No, we don't. She is fodder, and we don't need to determine just how fodderific she really is by rallying for her in another contest. She came into this one, sucked it up hard, and should be gone for good. It's like rallying for Yuri or Manny Calavera again. It's pointless. --- ...a lone figure shining in the toxic shadows. the ninja pic. No. Even if you want to believe the Devil Division is overrated last year (and it's not !!), Dante will still increase from last year. DMC3 doubled it's sales, and DMC2 has gone greatest hits. you guys are reading way too much into this match. the reason a
non-Noble Nine character will break 85% for the first time is because
they're rarely in the position to do so. usually the 1 seeds are
reserved for strong characters and 8/16 seeds for utter fodder. Zelda
is reaping the rewards of being a 1 seed here, that's all. besides, since when will stats matter in Samus/Zelda? that's Nintendo-Nintendo and we've already seen how that goes. nothing new has happened on the Zelda front in the last year and if I'm not mistaken, Metroid's had a game and a spinoff since. I reeeeeeallllllly don't see Zelda turning that 60-40 Samus put on Ganon around. not to mention you're judging this off a character better known for a television show than her actual games! I get the feeling I'm one of the only ones who really played her games around here and I highly doubt the kids born in the 90's even know who she is. it's Carmen Sandiego, man! --- xyzzy |

I don't see Zelda being able to rSFF Samus, like she would need to do
to defeat her. Ganon couldn't do it. Link couldn't even deal out a dose

Nah, Samus isn't the complete failure we collectively exaggerate her to be. She'll probably have to crush the hearts of all Zelda fans when she beats her, but Samus is a worthy adversary of anyone. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

beat down on people -- exactly why I think she would take care of Mega
Man, Crono, Sonic, etc. with ease -- but I would say she'd get about

I think Zelda will hold up like a stud against Samus. Ganondorf managed
to nab 40% on her last year. I believe Zelda is more SFF-resistant (her
match against Mega Man in 2003 provides a bit of evidence, but it's
mainly just a hunch I have). Combine that with a natural Zelda boost
since last year, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if she hit

I would expect Zelda to do quite a bit more than what Ganon put up on
Samus last year. Of course, I think he's underrated and everything so
it's not to say that I think Zelda is stronger than Ganon (she isn't),
but Zelda hitting around 45%+ would be what I would expect. Any boost
from last year, any potential ability to pull some rSFF, and just being

I'm gonna have to be the man that says it: In SSBM, Zelda > Samus > Ganon in terms of favoritism, I bet. It probably applies to the whole series as well (yes, all two games). Couple that with everything else everybody's been saying and me not being 100% (95%, sure, but not 100%) that Ganon is stronger than Zelda, and Zelda's going to do fine against Samus. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest.
