This makes me think that Snake will have the lead on Mega Man for
perhaps the majority of the day before my hopes go down in flames with

About Cortana, I think she's going to be really bad fodder. I agree
that she'll turn out to be another Kerrigan. It's just that I don't

well it's tough to tell how Tales characters behave since their
opponents are Kefka, Wesker and now Jill. looks like Lloyd went about
even with Zero during the day vote though, so maybe Tales actually has
a decent day vote for some weird reason. --- xyzzy |

This all depends on Peach's inherent strength, though. A crazy day vote probably won't save her if Jill is up by 55% or so by the time it hits. I'm not exactly regretting having Peach in my bracket right now, though. --- Commit it to memory. |

Day votes don't lose matches, strength loses matches. Yeesh..... Peach could definitely cause a swing in her second round match though -- in most cases, Mario/SSBM/Nintendo seems to get the day-vote and RE seems to lose it, so it could be real fun to watch, heh. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. good grief, she's going to be around 61% if this keeps up for a couple more hours. she's dropping 1% an hour. not that it really matters, it's just cool to watch big vote swings. 54%-55%-55% right in a row is pretty interesting when everything stabilized at 65% for the first 15 hours of the poll. --- xyzzy |

The day vote establishes trends, not strength, guys. I hope nobody was
expecting Jill to come in with a good day vote or Peach have a bad one.
If Jill loses, it won't be because she has a poor day vote. It'll be
because she wasn't strong enough. Now, she might surrender the lead

Day votes don't lose matches, strength loses matches. Yeesh..... Well, the character that is behind is likely to get more rally votes, so that gives an advantage to the day vote grabber. I never claimed that trends = strength.. like I said, it's just fun to
watch. though if it's a 50-50 match going into the day, I'd take Peach
to win it every time just based on previous Nintendo characters. ..though DK does kinda suck in the day so I guess it's possible Peach may be the same. and we won't know until the match with Jill since trying to draw any conclusions from Daisy/Peach is going to be futile. by the way, I expect that match to go a lot like Samus/Nidoran F. lots of joke votes. --- xyzzy |

This isn't Sheena being strong.... Llyod would still beat her. RE is
just garbage, and their characters age poorly. Kairi is fodder, just
look at how quickly Claire dropped from grace? Leon won't follow suit

Of course I'm serious. Why Wouldn't I be? It is the truth. Jill wasn't
underrated in 2k4, she just dropped that much... and she's dropping
that much in the rankings again this year. Rpg characters are made strong and rememberable through plotline and growth. All other characters will drop much quicker unless they reappear in their series. There needs to be some reason for the voter to think and remember them... some way that the voter is reminded of them. Also, though it's not likely to happen, should Sheena become lucky
enough to win an update here, I think this would be the biggest blowout
to ever feature the loser win a five-minute update (I think Mario/Zero

CATS has a fad to keep him memorable. Something special that no RE character could ever hope to be a part of. Besides.... you can only drop so far. All this time I was thinking Daisy would perform better than expected
just because Peach is not a favorite and should have minimal SFFing
power. But after seeing that horrid picture, it might be a different

I don't really like that Peach pic. ...And wow, if Jill can get 'killed' by a ToS character with the after-school vote, I can just imagine what Peach will do. At least the art style is similar. And hopefully Jill levels off somewhere in the next few hours. I think my oracle was 62.xx% and my teammate Giggsalott's was 63.xx% (that or the other way around), so woo. oh, and it's rather strange to see that Tales has a strong day vote.
cult games like TOS are usually night vote champs, not day votes. CT is
the most obvious example, but pretty much any cult/niche game seems to
have those trends. maybe being on the GC helps. *shrugs* --- xyzzy |

True, Peach looks like crap too, but that's just the way Peach looks.
The only game I've seen Daisy in is Super Mario Strikers, and she
