Lloyd is a special case in some regards as a protaganist. Even though
he's the undeniable main hero of the game, a large sum, if not the vast
majority of ToS fans don't consider him to be the best character. That

Sheena will be bad fodder. Lloyd and Kratos are both much more
prominent within the game than she is (don't bring up Vincent, FFVII

I don't see why Sheena would also get that title, though. I mean, yeah,
Kratos > Lloyd wasn't *particularly* surprising to see. Kratos just
makes Lloyd look like a damn fool for the entire game (not that Lloyd
needs help, but still). The only thing I've really seen go in Sheena's
favor to help her out over Lloyd is, um, sex appeal. I just don't think that will do it, at least not in a match against Jill. The match picture may be the deciding factor, come to think of it. =/ --- Commit it to memory. |

Hey, I never said she'd outrank Lloyd, just that lloyd isn'tthe ceiling
of ToS character strength. I don't think she could be any weaker than
mithos though. (don't bring up Vincent, FFVII isn't in the same ocean as ToS) No, but vincent does prove prominence doesn't have much to do with strength. Just to give you another example, while he wasn't exactly strong, hk-47 would probably be by far the most powerful kotor character in a contest setting and at the time he was in the contest kotor2 wasn't out yet, and he wasn't even remotely prominent in kotor, he was simply as vincent is, a fan favourite. Not that Sheena will be even remotely strong, I see her hanging around the fodder line myself. --- When D... I'd be able to finish this sig if Z1mZum didn't own me so hard in the guru contest. If Sheena gets the artwork of her showing off her cleavage she'll do
good. Sheena really will look good regardless and kids nowadays love

Other than Kratos, just Sheena, really. The rest are a very mixed bag
among the fanbase. Zelos is the only other one that would really stand

I can't see anyone else other than Kratos outranking Lloyd because
Lloyd is too strong and easy to use in combat, as well as being the
main character. Why was Kratos stronger then? Because he was just too cool, much like Magus. Why is Crono stronger than Magus, then? Because Crono has the good sense to have a cool design and not sound like an idiot every time he opens his mouth. Being mute saved the lad. <_< --- Commit it to memory. |

Sheena is popular for much the same reason that Tifa is. And she's got
cool Summon Spirits! I mean, I find most ToS fans like her, unlike the
rest of the fanbase (sans Kratos), which has a lot of love/hate
mixture. But if even Mithos (who seems to be hated much more than
loved) can come close to matching Lloyd, I see no reason why Sheena

I'd mainly attribute that to squeenix deciding to make a side character the badass of the story and the main character the idiot of the group though. --- When D... I never used Locke. I actually despised it when he kept forcing himself
upon the party! I liked using Edgar, Cyan, Sabin, and either Terra or
Celes. But Edgar, Cyan, and Sabin were definitely my most used party

I don't get why FFVI can't produce a decent character regardless. The
fanbase is split but so what? I'm sure a lot of the CT fanbase varies
on if they like Magus or Frog more but they seem to support both
anyway. Terra and Kefka both are liked far more than a character like Lloyd among their fanbase and yet both are garbage even though FFVI is so much more popular. I just don't understand it. --- Demyx > Axel Z1mZum owned me in the Guru Contest with his mad skills! |

Dammit, I need to play FF6 again; I keep forgetting characters to put
on my list. Setzer fits in as tied with Cyan as my second favourite

The reason I picked Terra last year was I figured somebody
from FFVI had to be strong, and it certainly wasn't Kefka, so why not
Terra? Since then, we've had even more proof that Final Fantasy VI is
strong (10AC, 66% playership rate, FF's performance in the Series
contest), and, yet, all the characters still suck. It flummoxes me to

What really gets me, is that they're on par with characters that shouldn't even be in their league.
I mean, sure, you like Terra, Locke, Sabin, Edgar, Shadow, and Celes
all more than Kefka. That doesn't necessarily mean you're going to vote
frigging Pac-Man over him. Or how Terra is projected to lose to Kratos Aurion with around 45% of the vote. HAS 50% OF GAMEFAQS EVEN PLAYED TOS??? Shouldn't Terra get default votes in that sort of a situation? Yet as much as logic might tell me to ignore the stats in that circumstance, I'm pretty sure Kratos would win... Yeah, but it's a lot different than having to choose between Locke, Sabin, Edgar, Terra, Celes, and Shadow. I think his point is that despite the differences you'd still think fans of ff6 would vote for Terra even if she was their fourth favourite character or somewhere way back like that. I mean, I voted for Cecil last contest, and he's MAYBE my third or fourth favourite character in FFIV. --- When D... Well, Shadow is the fan favorite, and fan favorites tend to do well in
those kind of polls, so I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to win
again if it was held today. Beyond that, I don't think you can really
draw any conclusions from a four and half year old poll with fourteen
characters and about a fourth of the amount of votes that a match gets
