*shrugs* i still think Celes looks perfectly fine. however, that scene that picture is taken from is one of my absolute favorite video game scenes of all-time. so maybe i am a bit biased. she still looks way more feminine and way prettier than The Boss, though. and i also don't think this match will be close wire to wire. but i really don't think either character can manage a blowout. whoever wins, i predict a 45-55 match. --- i have officially been Z1mZum'D in the guru contest. The fact that we can still see the black under her arm and the
outlines...whether you think Celes is inherently more appealing than
The Boss is one thing. But the quality of the picture is very lacking,
which is something you can't say for Boss'. --- Commit it to memory. |

I really can't see this as being a Vergil/Ghaleon match. The only way I
can see one of them even breaking 60% in this match is if one of them

I really can't see this as being a Vergil/Ghaleon match. The only
way I can see one of them even breaking 60% in this match is if one of
them turns out not to be fodder or one is just ridiculously weak. BINGO. The way I see it someone's going to turn out absolutely pathetic, even beyond expectations. It could be Celes, due to Devil Division overrating for Terra, leading to Celes overestimation (or maybe she's just not as popular). It could be The Boss, suffering from Wesker syndrome. Or maybe it'll be both, and we get a close match. <_< It'd be weird to see them both as high fodder. I can't imagine it happening -- there's too much potential for failure here. --- Commit it to memory. |

I agree with just about all of that. I guess it's because I really like both of the characters, but both pictures suit their personalities well. That Celes scene is also one of my favorites from FFVI, it's just so epic. I think The Boss looks strong but still feminine, which fits her character. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

But once again, the tricky part is figuring out which one will bomb.
Even if the match doesn't turn out to be close at all, I can say that

eh, the one more likely to bomb is the boss. that's not to say she
will, but Celes is a character from a popular Square RPG who already
has had one of its characters be shown as fodder. I doubt she's going
to deviate much from that. the boss could be anything from Ocelot to

That's part of the reason I picked Celes. The Boss has a bigger chance
of crashing and burning. We've never seen an MGS3-exclusive character,

MGS characters aren't good with the day vote, but we're talking about
FF6 characters here. I bet even Alucard would win the day vote against
Kefka or Terra. Terra lost percentage all day long against Dante, who
has a similar day vote to Vincent. I'm not gonna be here tomorrow, so I won't be able to watch how it really goes except for tonight. But, I'm going to assume this: If Celes doesn't manage 53% in the first hour I'm just going to assume The Boss wins it. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! Celes will pull it off because of the FF Factor, and thats all. Boss i
can see crashing and burning in the 45% hell, and Celes will reign

Good to see Ivy put up a somewhat respectable daytime performance. I was hoping this match would follow Tifa/Vyse patterns. The Boss/Celes...I'm not too worried about it. I'll agree that The Boss is more likely to bomb. Celes can't be that strong though...Meh, I don't know. Not really. How many close fodder/fodder matches are there, really?
I expect a Vergil/Ghaleon out of this. It's the victor I'm iffy on. Claire/Kairi was pretty damn close, and those two are far more fodderific than Celes/The Boss. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

Nah, I argued for Terra > Kairi for a while a few stats topics ago.
I don't really believe it any more, since that would require a pretty
enormous drop for Claire, but why change your opinion even when all the

Yeah, they're both from very popular games here that take until you
beat the game before you can fully appreciate them (that's what I
understand about Celes, anyway). Though FF/FF3-6 is bigger than MG/MGS3
here, I think MGS3 is character-based enough to let one of its

I had the fave-FF3/6 poll in mind when I said that, and considering
she's below Terra (both in that poll and in seeding) as well as several
others and Terra is not only behind Kefka and Ultros already but could

Please don't even take Ultros into consideration when talking about this. Ultros > Terra ought to send up flares as it is. Besides, you're talking about a favorite poll with a ridiculous amount of characters. Oh, the favorites poll. Yeah, I could see Ultros doing better there
than in a regular one. Thing is, I was always under the impression
Celes was a bigger fan-fave than Terra, and yet she did worse in a poll
that should have presumably favored her...I know, too many contestants

If you had Nidoran F > Samus, I'm not sure how you could have missed
it unless you simply didn't have a bracket with a chance. Samus is a
lock for the finals, so you'd think that you'd notice you didn't have

Ultros better be VERY over-rated, 'cuz Terra only has room to go down
in last year's stats. Not only that, but before I played FF3/6 I always
heard more about Ultros than Terra, so maybe -- bizzare as it would be,
heh -- there might be more truth to that than either of us would like
to think. Plus, yeah, it's a big favorites-poll, but the seeding fits
with the poll -- Terra as a 4-seed, Celes as a 5-seed...Terra beating
out Celes by a little bit. Celes isn't looking high and mighty herself, which is all I'm saying. The Boss won't be a smashing success by any means, but I think she's looking to be in better shape right now. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. Well, this is kinda what happens when you don't play FF6, HaRR. Trust
me, Ultros is a funny joke villain, but there's no way he's on par with
any but the weakest of the playable characters. There's an argument for
Celes being the main of FF6... --- Commit it to memory. |

Ivy's damn close to 24% herself (though maybe her boobs are doing

I did play it though, until about the World of Ruin (which is where
Celes shines, I think)...but still, I can't really blame the more talk
going to Ultros than Terra, either. Not to say he should be stronger,
but he's still worthy of talk, which I never heard of Terra before I

Terra got 28.5% against Dante last year...if Terra > Celes and
FF7/FF:AC/KH2 can SFF FF3/6, not to mention Tifa > Dante...heh, it

From a statistical perspective, I want The Boss to win for an accurate measure of how good(bad) those 2 really are --- ertyu and VeghEsther are truly proof that there is much about this world we still do not understand. |

I'd like to see a fair comparison between Terra and Celes, but if The
Boss wins tonight, I think it'd be safe to say that Celes wouldn't be
