Aren't they though? Master Chief/Frog is still one of the greatest matches ever. His comeback was sick in the sense of very awesome.

Needless to say, this is awesome. Kairi will probably come back with the after-school votes, and the two duke it out in the evening, but for now, I just have to laugh at all the people who didn't think this would be close.

Well, the fact that Kingdom Hearts and Sora do better in the day generally means that more of a Kingdom Hearts audience in general votes during those times. While it doesn't guarantee Kairi the advantage, it does guarantee her the chance and potential for the advantage.

Kind of like how if 95% of people had played one game and 50% had played another.

Just because 45% more people played it doesn't mean it will automatically win, but it should probably be the favorite going into it.

that would be me... I said that I felt the match was unpredictable but that it'd end up being anticlimactic. oops.

the problem with the afterschool vote is how huge it is - the vote total will explode come around 4pm EST. if Kairi does indeed win that, it's going to turn from a close match to a big lead. a 55% update of 600 votes is a 60 vote increase per five minutes. if that's going to happen, Claire better start padding her lead.

so far though, this has defied trends somehow. hopefully it continues. I'd hate to see this because CV/KH II, where KH just left CV in the dust.

Eh, I don't think Claire will just roll over during the after-school vote. Claire's having some nice updates now, and I'll expect her to stay somewhat constant. Kairi's just going to increase.

it would also be really weird to see Claire getting +30 and +40 updates suddenly get destroyed in an hour's time. usually these things are somewhat gradual, so I won't say she's doomed or anything unless Kairi starts going 50/50 or winning some updates by a couple votes. it's certainly possible that Claire goes even with the day vote.. it just goes against RE and CV's history.

Holy crap, holy crap. Well, I think Chich can certainly concede that Jill would have won against Kairi now...

I never expected to wake up and see Claire *winning*...though with school in, it's really all for naught. It'll be like M. Bison/Diablo or MH/Kuja, the only difference is that Claire actually has a lead to work with.

Like I said before, this actually *was* a debatable match...though I never thought it would be close. Dammit, last place here I come! >_<

We can get our truly great match fixes on Yoshi/Dante and Vincent/Ganondorf, both matches that are (and are potentially) worth more than one point. I'm all for voting trends relifting Kairi to the lead.

Close matches to me are much more enjoyable when they involve characters you care about. Master Chief and Frog were two of the strongest characters the board had opinions on. Vincent/Ganon, Yoshi/Dante, and Zero/Kirby not only will have close matches, they also have considerable followings. Claire/Kairi, yeah it's better if its closer, but it's difficult to get into.

KH may have domininated the day votes, but the same being said for Kaiki, is like saying how Billy or Hunk would follow the same night pattern as Leon and Wesker.

Pointed out and fact.

In the last Stats and discussion, people were saying how badly Claire would be buried when the day hits.

Claire closed in by 188 votes, in under half an hour, from 550.
When the dawn hit, Kaiki came back up at 550 vote lead-That's when people started to believe all that being said about day vote belonging to Keiki is true and happening.
So wrong.


Claire is leading at the time they said she would be buried.

Now, like I said above, they are confusing the main Kh2 pattern with Keiki which they should not be doing, or that we are just thinking way too deep and it all depends on chance -_-

I honestly think she is. Unless my memory is totally wrong, it's not that often that the after-school vote is vastly different from the day vote. I'd say usually it's just like the day vote++. In that the person who was doing better during these updates will do even better. I wouldn't be surprised if Claire buried Kairi when school gets let out.

Add to that Jill's freakish last night vote tendency against Hayabusa... and I think Claire's the favorite.
