$250 is a little high for Wii, IMO. $5 minimum for downloadable games
is a heartbreaker, also. I can't imagine paying 5 bucks for a single

There's always the possibility of TP getting TV commercials in the
weeks before Wii release. That's the only way I can see any possibility

For some reason it feels like to me that LoZ would've beaten FF by more last year in the series contest. I think Wii/Zelda: TP hype alone will have Link win if Cloud somehow is currently ahead of Link now, though. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, will be available by the end
of the year, as will Excite Truck. However, the first Mario game for

Link has been cut off from his godlike power. It's still a risk as Link
is still a behemoth, but KHII, AC and DoC can launch a counter-attack

If this is all true, remember that the PS3 releases around a day or two
before Link/Cloud. That providing an influx of Sony friendly gamers is
a big possibility. Right now, my biggest fear -- y'know, other than this Wii information being inaccurate -- is Sephiroth throwing a monkey wrench into my plans and outlasting Cloud. Though if he were able to pull it out against Link, I'd die laughing. --- Commit it to memory. |

AC? Naw. DoC? Hell no. KH2? Possible, but I'd like it better if KH2 was
released closer to the contest. As it stands, Cloud has alot of ground
to cover. I still comfortably take Link in the Battle Royale, barring

To put Cloud's chances into perspective, he needs to reverse this match: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2129 That's not impossible with KH2 and a possible influx of Sony fans from the PS3. Yeah, the PS3 isn't very anticipated here...but that's with people that are on the site right now. When the PS3 hits, the people that buy it are going to be more prone to go to a site like GameFAQs. I'd say a higher percentage of them will prefer Cloud to Link. It may not be much, but it's not *too* much to overcome in the first place...Link overcame that deficit in 2k4, remember? --- Commit it to memory. |

You know, I never thought about it, but Sephiroth does have a chance to
outlast Cloud. Alot of Cloud's "hero" votes may go to Link. Bloody

with people that are on the site right now. When the PS3 hits, the
people that buy it are going to be more prone to go to a site like
GameFAQs. I'd say a higher percentage of them will prefer Cloud to
Link. But console releases don't exist in a vacuum. If Cloud/Link happens the day before the Wii launches, there will be tons of hype for the Wii. I was really only talking up the PS3's release as compared to the Wii's hype. A console's release > A console's hype. Cloud will mostly be riding on the back of KH2 for this. But I knew that when I made my pick. --- Commit it to memory. |

Quick Question. Will TP still be for both GC and Wii, or will it be Wii only now? Everything is looking to be true. The VC prices were just confirmed from the Japanese event -- basically $5 - $10 for VC games. Will TP still be for both GC and Wii, or will it be Wii only now? I fail to see how the PS3 release will help Cloud at all. None of the launch games are RPGs, and there are only 400k units in America. Not to mention the fact that the PS3 currently has nothing to do with FF7. This is more dependent on the imminent release bringing in a voter influx, much like SMS. It didn't do much for Mario's strength in the long run, but that match against Cloud...whoo. --- Commit it to memory. |

The date doesn't really affect my eventual date of release. And at
least this gives us one last potentially competitive contest before the

Mario's strength in the long run, but that match against Cloud...whoo. I doubt it helped him more than a couple points at most. Cloud was just a lot weaker that year. Remember that he did better on Bowser in 2K3 than he did on Alucard in 2K2. He was only a few points better on Alucard than he was on Sonic too. Cloud should've beaten Mario that year were it not for PGC, and possibly SMS, but it wouldn't have been by much.
