Dang you Board 8 with your bracket-votes! Just let Rikku drop down to that 74%! Okay, anyway...I'm not so sure about RE bracket support. It seems about average to me. Jill was favored over Ryu H, but Gordon was favored over Leon. In my opinion, a HUGE factor in bracket support is whether that character has been a previous contest, and it's not just having success in the past contest. But, to be honest, I think Jade had such big support because Jade has the advantage of a more appealing name for those who had no clue who either character was (basically what creativename said except applied to prediction percentage =P). That, and a little bit from people thinking of the wrong Jade. But, yeah...who honestly likes the name Ada wong? "Jade" just sounds so cool and all. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. I don't see why everyone thinks Claire fell off the face of the earth
into fodderland, anyway. 45% on Tidus a year after FFX is pretty darn
good, I'd say, and Jill hasn't fallen that
far since 2k2. Around 27% back then compared with 24% now(ish), if you
assume Hayabusa got hurt by looking like Arabusa against Sora and use
Zero instead. That's hardly catastrophic, and it's pre-RE4, too, which

Yes, and I had similar reasons for taking her over Dante. My reasons involve applying that logic to debateable matches. Samus/Mario comes to mind. I still can't fathom how the majority of this board had Samus winning that match. Truth be told, Turtle, I had Samus a few times, and had her going into

You know, I'd have to agree with BT that this match reminds me of Mega
Man/Mario Kart. Kairi was blowing Claire away in the BOP until this

Well, the 2k2 stats are old and weird, but I'm not going to pretend it
never happened either, especially when I can just take Claire's one
performance and throw it into 2k4 to see where she measures up using

Let's put it this way. If I had Board 8 knowledge last year, along with
the mindset I used this year, I probably would've been on the
leaderboard at the end. I had stupid picks like Vivi > Zelda and
Squall > Dante in the Devil Division that probably would've been
avoided if I had some info on past contest. Fun fact: I had Magus winning his match due to the SquareFAQs factor. It's odd how immersing yourself in the contests changes your perception of the sight. Board 8 knowledge is a double-edged sword. On one hand, you are privy
to the board overanalyzing things like Samus over Mario, and being
influenced by board fads (ToS characters last year, Phoenix this year).
On the other hand, you won't ever do something stupid like picking GoW
Kratos over Alucard or having Ganon defeat Samus becuase he made the

You forget that this board is still on a KH2 high and would probably
vote for Kairi over a character they don't care about. Hell, I know

I guess this match COULD be compared to Mario Kart/Mega Man (if Kairi
takes it), except we were arguing which series is stronger, while this

BR Round 5 is projected to be on Nov. 18th. If everything goes as
planned, Cloud still has a shot at Link. If there is a one day delay,
TP releases on the day of Cloud vs Link and Link will completely

I like the news by the fact that Zelda/Aeris takes place well before
the Wii is released, so I feel a bit better about Aeris' chances. I
-love- this 12-point risk...in fact, so much that I took Aeris over
Zelda in BOTH my brackets...:p Come on, Aeris...! I just realized that if Aeris beating Zelda, Samus would face both Aeris AND Tifa, giving us a clear comparison between the two. I love it. Vincent > Ganon is a lock, Aeris > Zelda looks
awesome, and Link may lose in the battle royale now, which would be the

I guess the TP release is what made Zelda > Aeris an overwhelming
favorite? (at least in the BOP) Now the match becomes as debatable as

...uh...seeing as how the biggest argument for Cloud to win this year
is KH2, I don't see how that's relevant. I've been saying it's possible
for Zelda to win the series and Cloud to win the character contest for
