Personally, I'm very glad that Nidoran F avoided being 6x'd by Samus,
and is among one of the most impressive fodder characters in contest

Ada > Claire is slightly debatable because Claire has an advantage
on Ada already within their first appearances. Claire is a main and the
most popular character from RE2, Ada is a side character. Claire also
has the advantage of being a main from Code Veronica. So, you have to
wonder if Ada being a side character from Resident Evil 4 outstrips the
hefty head start Claire already has on her. I think it will (and this performance doesn't hurt), but yeah... --- Commit it to memory. |

How anyone can relate this to Kairi/Claire I have no idea, as much as I
want Claire to win (for both the preservation of good taste and my
bracket), it's silly to think this says anything about it. I would take

Even if it doesn't mean anything in the long run, I will cheer and then

Jade is probably the most obscure character in this contest... I don't
think her being blown out is a basis to claim that Claire will beat

You people are acting like the other RE games aren't popular... RE4 was
big and all, but it's not like people don't care about the rest of the
series. It had just been a while since the other games had any
prominence that made RE4 seem so big. It's not like people stopped

I know nothing of the other games, but the two biggest RE fans I know
both agree that RE4 saved the series from dying in the same sense that

Daisy would beat Jade directly, but she'll probably be sooooooo badly SFF'd by Peach that she'll end up the weakest character in the contest. Ulti is right. I remember even as early as a year ago, there were
scores of topics being posted by the minute! This year, I'm shocked
(although pleasantly surprised) to see posts from a day ago not named

Maybe 4 or 5 short cutscenes of mysterious nature... sure she's playable, but not in the main game. that the Mega Man series is now 'dead'. When was the last proper RE game before RE4? It saved the series from dying because the series pretty much did nothing for years. Sure, Capcom released the REmake and RE0 for the Gamecube, but that's not where the core RE fanbase was to begin with. RE didn't really need saving. It just needed to be brought back to its fanbase. RE4 just happened to be so good that the Gamecube fanbase caught on a bit as well. But it's not like people don't care about the other games. 4 brought in a lot of new people to the
series. It was my first RE... after seeing it called the Game of the
Year so much, I got it. While that got me into the rest of the series
now too, I could see there being a lot of people who are only familiar

There are a lot of people that loved RE4 and hated the other RE's. They might not even know who Claire is. You could make the case for more people knowing Ada or at least recognizing her, but there's not really any connection to the player. And Jill's not in RE4, but it's a *real* stretch to think that she's
going to be significantly weaker than Ada, if at all. We'd all take
Jill to obliterate Kairi, right? Then, there you go. RE4 isn't necessary. --- Commit it to memory. |
