Since Leonhart isn't here at the moment... At 1:20, Samus/Nidoran F has 12651 votes. To compare with other matches at this time: The Legend of Zelda vs. Civilization - 12852 Samus Aran vs. Nidoran F - 12651 Fire Emblem vs. Silent Hill - 12589 Suikoden vs. Mega Man X - 12439 And here I was thinking it would be unfair to compare this match with some of the series contests' matches... Just for the record, there's a rumor about the Wii launching as early as October 13th circulating around. And Metroid Prime 3 is indeed going to be at launch -- just to do away with that old rumor. My lovely little Nido is doing well for herself in a match up where she
should be getting murdered by SFF. I guess Samus really can't SFF

Is this the same Samus who apparently "SFFed" Ganon? Yes? The Samus who
is now having trouble SFFing one of the single biggest joke characters
EVER in the contest? Hell, you can make an argument for Nidoran getting
slight rSFF. I don't care if it gets to 85ish (which is unlikely, but hey), this is still a major underperformance. Is this the same Samus who apparently "SFFed" Ganon? Yes? The Samus
who is now having trouble SFFing one of the single biggest joke
characters EVER in the contest? Hell, you can make an argument for
Nidoran getting slight rSFF. That's one of the things you can adjust Ganon upward for, yes. It's not the only thing that you can use to raise him up some -- he's cleary too low as it is. Dante isn't going to give Ganon a run...ever. Samus's performance today is underperforming the expectations of 90%+, but there were still a number of people who expected mid-80s for Samus, which is certainly likely to happen if she gets a large favor with the day vote, which she should. I don't care if it gets to 85ish (which is unlikely, but hey), this is still a major underperformance. I don't think there's any degree of SFF - this is just the raw strength of the two, pretty much. Now that I've come to terms with the fact that Nidoran is actually
getting some votes, I'm wondering how many Pokemon actually have the
potential to win a match. Also, I'm trying to think which Pokemon would be the strongest. I know most people would love a big rally for Mewtwo first, but I have a feeling Charizard would be stronger. --- The Little Mermaid 2-Disc Platinum Edition DVD Coming October 3, 2006 |

I get the feeling that Charizard is the one Pokemon that most fans of
the series can actually associate with. Whereas Pikachu is the face
that the rest of the world knows, Charizard is the one the players,
fans, and voters actually like. He was the first Pokemon of millions.
He was the first one they leveled up and the first one they took to
100. He was huge in the animated series, was the most expensive and
sought-after card, and is, after all, a FIRE-BREATHING DRAGON. In all
honesty, I wouldn't be too surprised if all three Red/Blue starters
turned out to be stronger than Mewtwo, but Charizard seems to be their

Who could the weakest Pokemon be? I'm guessing one of the non-evolvers nobody remembers or cares about. Murkrow, Corsola, Mantine, Yanma, Qwilfish, Sableye, Gligar... Note most of the forgettable guys are from GSC. That gen had good Pokemon (Tyranitar, Lanturn, Octillery, and Typhlosion come immediately to mind), but also had lots of sucky useless ones. --- Back in my day, video games had one degree of movement, uphill, through the snow, both ways, and we liked it. - CJayC |

Yeah, I'm a little surprised at Nidoran F's strength here. I doubt that
LUE/LL could get much more than 5,000 votes at the very most. Oh, and on another note, did anyone know that a DOA movie just came out this past weekend? Yeah, that was actually one of the first things this result made me
think of - if Nidoran can do better than expected, so can other
characters that people think are a joke. Phoenix may not win, but I'm

Never mind about the DOA movie. I just checked IMDB and it doesn't come
out in the USA until October 20th. MSN Movies Fall Lineup had it coming
out September 9th, but I guess they must have gotten it mixed up with
the overseas release dates, because it's only been released in
