It sounds silly now, I admit -- but new games are just so much more to
Square characters than they are to Nintendo ones. I mean, c'mon -- a
cameo in a new game allowed Cloud to beat Link. A cameo. Ten years is a long time. Square not screwing it up will be the hard part, anyway. --- Commit it to memory. |

game, unless I'm forgetting something (which I probably am >_<)
that has the tag of Square Enix instead of Squaresoft on it.... just

but new games are just so much more to Square characters than they are to Nintendo ones. That's because most Square characters only make an appearance once. Cloud benefitted from a cameo so much because that was his first thing since FFVII where he played a role in something so big. It's a bit different with someone like Sora who is already in two games and likely to make another appearance in KH3.whenever they get around to it. I doubt he'd ever be able to take care of Cloud. --- She comes dressed for war, and her wrath is terrible. |

You're passing judgment on Sora being in two games (that matter) when
we haven't even seen him since KH2? What happens if he gets a boost
that's larger than most people anticipate this year? And Link's been about in a billion and a half games, but that hasn't stopped the calls for him to break 55-57% on Cloud after Twilight Princess... --- Commit it to memory. |

What happens if he gets a boost that's larger than most people anticipate this year? I was one of the people expecting a rather hefty boost from him this year, beyond people's expectations at least. But if he does happen to do something ridiculous and get 45% on Mega Man or -- God forbid -- win, then I'll definitely take back what I had said before. Sora does not strike me as someone who would ever be able to garner that type of popularity and status that would allow him to become a champion here. Your scenario is very best case, which is already a problem, and the fact that all these other characters are still going to be getting games. It doesn't take but one game to be that "Twilight Princess" and boost someone like Samus or Solid Snake way up the chain. I'd sooner expect one of them to beat out Link before I ever would Sora. --- She comes dressed for war, and her wrath is terrible. |

Sora happens to be the best candidate for Square though, which is one
of the biggest two properties here. I have a tough time seeing Samus
take down Link (especially her, considering where she gets the majority of her strength from), and Snake is a little better...but he's not truly Square. I mean, if you wanted the TRUE best case scenario, Square would go, "We need to win this weird internet site's contest!" and start pushing a flurry of new and original games starring Cloud. And make Cloud the main character of KH3 for no reason. Also they would change the name of the company from Square-Enix to Cloud-Ultima. And so forth... --- Commit it to memory. |

I can see it now -- Cloud is the main character of KH3 and Sora is
unplayable but there and we get to see him be all badass from the
sidelines. It seems to be the popular things these days to make the main character not playable but there. I blame Konami. --- She comes dressed for war, and her wrath is terrible. |

But IIRC, he had a couple of games between 2k4 and 2k5. Mega Man could've been just from the influx of voters, as it's already been shown that he gets a good chunk of his strength from the Nintendo camp. Sonic's had a few games between 2k5 and now as well...heck, Mega Man's
getting Mega Man ZX right as this contest is starting. And there's
always random variation. People need to stop acting like they're bound
by the stats...in close matches, their effectiveness drops like a rock

Yeah. I can definitely send you at least one of my write-ups today. I just recently (two days ago) got a new computer, so all of my write-ups -- they were all done on the female side -- are on my other computer. I realize that Mega Man and Sonic are so close that random fluctuation
could change that match. But I think Crono is far enough ahead that

Cloud was also behind a huge anomaly in 2002, and it's quite possible that an increase in votals helped increase new-school Square's power in 2003. How likely is it that KH3 will give Link as big of a boost as LttP did? KH5 vs. OoT? --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

Crono has a much better chance at beating Link then Sora does. If Square makes another CT game with Crono as the main character, he could boost pretty high. --- - "ertyu is actually a language. This topic needs more Claire/Kairi discussion. I know I've probably
brought it up several times, but it is possible that Claire has dropped
since her last appearance, but is the drop enough for Kairi, a
character in KH who hardly does much but still has tons of otaku like
fanboy and fangirls to feed some strength off of, to best her? --- WWEGSB Hardcore Legend And Tag Champ Masa I jobbed to Z1mZum in the Guru Contest. Did you? |

Claire's peformance on Tidus, even if you extrapolate it through 2K4
Tidus gives her a lot of room to drop before I think she's in grave
danger, especially since Resident Evil 4 rejuvenated the series'
