What's the line on the Kratos/Ryu match? I haven't heard much discussion of this one. --- I am not changing this sig until the Devil Rays get into 3rd place in the division with at least 20 games played. (Started 9/16/04) |

Kratos did pretty decent on Alucard last year, but hes not gonna be winning a match against Ryu. --- WWEGSB Hardcore Legend And Tag Champ Masa I jobbed to Z1mZum in the Guru Contest. Did you? |

Kratos (2005c) VS Ryu (2005c) Kratos has a strength of 20.40. Ryu has a strength of 29.98. Ryu wins with 65.98% of the vote! A win of 28,290 with 88,532 total votes cast. Still catching up with the topic, but I'd like to make one more note
about Big Boss: why do you all think he got into the contest in 2k5? He
certainly got more nominations than he did any other year, despite
Ocelot also making it in as a high seed. I have no doubt that this was
due to MGS3 fans nominating "Big Boss", especially after CJayC's recent
revelations about not counting spelling mistakes/alternate names - so,
"Big Boss" got more nominations that "Naked Snake" did. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

I made a list of how I think the strength line goes for these guys
(Like, how I would pick one or another probably, keeping SFF to a
minimun unless it's well due or proven, etc.) So, this is only for the male half of the bracket.... (Go beat the second dungeon of the Dark World in Link to the Past and listen to what the maiden there has to say!) I prefer to take a look at more recent games, such as The Wind Waker. The game often goes back and forth calling him Ganondorf and Ganon. I'd have to go search for it, but there was an interview with Miyamoto post-OoT that said neither name is attached to a particular form. So, in short, lol alttp (Love the game!!) (Oh, and Seven Wisemen? Not in the GBA version of ALttP!!) What's the line on the Kratos/Ryu match? I haven't heard much discussion of this one. That's because Ryu is much stronger than Kratos. Now, Kratos is a bit underrated because of the whole Snake/Sora affair and his game as sold over 500,000+ copies since he was last in the contest, but it's a bit too much for him to overcome. Alucard probably will get a boost from DoS, but nothing compared to what Auron will get from KH2. ...man, Alucard was really wasted too. --- That... was her final mission. And like a true soldier, she saw it through the end. ZSB [aX] |

There may be not be that much difficulty involved, especially after
you figure everything out (Light Arrows are not even necessary to get
behind him, but Lord I love shooting him in the face with those), but
final boss fights and difficulty usually aren't frequent occurrences. You know, I don't think I ever realized that you could use Light Arrows on Ganon. And I always wondered why everyone thought he was such an easy boss fight... --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

You know, I don't think I ever realized that you could use Light
Arrows on Ganon. And I always wondered why everyone thought he was such

Because it's a SFF match. There's a reason why virtually every
Nintendo, and *especially* every MARIO character boosted like crazy
last year. You want me to buy Mario, Bowser, Luigi all boosting
heavily...but Yoshi gets kicked to the wayside? Why? All the pre-SNES characters, you mean. And no, Yoshi's Cookie doesn't make Yoshi pre-SNES. >_> --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

- Is TP still coming out the same day as the Wii? (I remember hearing that somewhere...) Indeed. Twilight Princess is actually the first Zelda game to launch with one of Nintendo's new consoles. (It's also the first Zelda game to get an expected T rating!! ) - And when is the Wii rumored to come out? I've heard October... but again, some solid info would be nice. Multiple things point to a late October launch right now. Nintendo is expected to announce the date/price/official launch lineup around September 14th -- two days after the bracket closes. --- "Zelda isn't the type of game that can be a 100 on a scale of 1 to 100 -- it has to be 120." |

Looking at Dante/Yoshi more seriously, it's only logical to put Yoshi
anywhere from .5 to 1.5% higher than Dante... still nothing close to
being decisive. Dante has had DMC3:SE since the last contest, which
sold like crap, but could possibly give him the smallest of boosts. I
have no idea if the Nintendo boost is going to stop this year, though I
think it should. The site being so heavily pro-Wii doesn't make me
think the site is getting even more "lol NintendoFAQs"ish, just that
the Wii has been more impressive than anything Nintendo has put out
there for a looooooong time. Anyway, it's going to be close as **** I
think, and I have had Dante since I first looked at the bracket, and
I've been uneasy as hell about it since, and I still am. But when it's
50/50, I think I have to just let my fanboyism take control, and go

Oh, and I'm totally starting a Naked Snake nomination rally next year.
I want to start it now, but then I'd have to keep track of it for an
entire goddamn year, and we all know that's not gonna happen, though
PoP army almost lasted that long (damn Tennis & School & Work
not leaving any time for me here). Because honestly, we have elite
status character right thurr, and even if not, at least an upper
midcarder. It's not like it's a cheap ripoff like Dark Samus either, so
I don't see how Ceej can deny him getting in, although he could always
pull a MMX, but then we'd all say darn you cjay and that would fix
everything. Okay I'm really starting to ramble, but goddamit you all

Sonic/Samus III based on that Snake has a 0% shot of beating Mega Man
IMO, and Sonic has around a 15% shot of beating out Crono and Mega Man
