Anyhoo, I think Claire > Kairi is a nice little upset pick. ...Except it shouldn't be that. I have no idea how Kairi became the favorite of this match. Oh Ganon's value in 2005 is pointless. I just point to the villain's
contest, then what Bowser did against Snake and assume Ganon is equal
to Bowser and go from there. Ganon/Auron also makes me think that

I don't know how Ganon/Auron tells us much. We've never had a reliable
read on Auron. And even then, I'd wager that Vincent > Auron by a

I just point to the villain's contest, Yeah, I like to point to Diablo, too. then what Bowser did against Snake and assume Ganon is equal to Bowser and go from there. There's no WAY Tidus and Shadow could have fallen equally proportionally! They have to be as strong as SC2K3 says! That couldn't have been a fluke! Proportions are completely reliable! I think that over 65% of people will predict Kairi though. Like, they
could use the possibly incorrect stuff.... like using KH's popularity
in general as a basis. Kairi wasn't even really IN CoM (like anyone
played it anyway lololololololl), and anyway, maybe if she was a
controllable character who... you know.... actually DID stuff, I'd give
her a shot. You know.... this may be a stupid question (I bet it is =P), but I can't recall... would she be the first character in one of these contests to be a character that you never control or never battle? I think that Celes/The Boss will tell us a lot about Ganondorf/Vincent,
strangely enough. I expect Celes to be a bit weaker than Terra, and The
Boss to be a bit weaker than Big Boss. Dante and Auron had nearly
identical performances on Terra and Big Boss, respectively. And Vincent
and Ganondorf had nearly identical performances on Dante and Auron.
Celes/The Boss will help to conclude in my mind who was stronger that
year between Dante and Auron, and in turn who was stronger between
Ganondorf and Vincent. ...thinking of it that way, with AC and DoC I'm thinking my Vincent pick is a lot better now. Cool. =D --- Commit it to memory. |

And even then, I'd wager that Vincent > Auron by a significant margin especially after AC and DOC. There wouldn't be that much difference between them indirectly. Unless you only view a few percentage points as significant. If you do, forget this then. I'd definitely expect Vincent to outdo Auron 2k5 by a significant
margin, although like I entertained in the summer I would certainly
consider taking Auron 2k6 over Ganon after thanks to KH2. --- Commit it to memory. |

You argue based entirely on bias and personal preference, and fail to ever admit when you're wrong on top of putting words in other people's mouths. Everyone and their mother knows that you can find whatever you want by looking in stats hard enough. I even bet you I could find perfect parallels between Stairway to Heaven's "satanic" messages and the last time Rosie O'Donnel last ate a full pie. It means nothing. And you're not even a bad guy. It sucks to see one of my favorite people and one of the stats topic's smartest regs feed into the elitist stigma that everyone else hates about this place. consider taking Auron 2k6 over Ganon after thanks to KH2. Vincent is certainly above Auron by a good margin, no doubt. Auron would be around 30% after you do some adjusting to Ganon. Directly the match would be no competition because of SFF, but yeah, Vincent is definitely ahead of Auron. TO decide Vince/Auron, I think of Squall/Auron first now. I think we
can agree Vince/Squall was close enough to call them just about equal
anyway, yes? Well, I would pick Squall > Auron even if Squall and Vince weren't equal, which would mean Vince > Squall, by some bit yeah. I don't mind people saying ANYTHING as long as they back it up, and
Leon more or less does that. It's stuff like, "Snake is going to take
the main bracket how could he possibly lose to stale and repetitive
Mega Man" or "Zelda is going to trash SMAUS after all Zelda won the
series contest lolz" that gets me riled. But things that go against the
norm are great. I've been arguing Mega Man > Samus forever now!!! =D --- Commit it to memory. |

Well I think Ganon/Vince is entirely dependant upon whether Ganon is
overrated. And he might very well be. We've already seen Magus and
Tidus of that little 2003 club tank. I'm guessing Zelda -- and you'd be right! Well TP will probably be out by then. Hell if Zelda is major playable and has a sword, and the match comes out at just the right time, I fear for Samus. I'm not even kidding. From last topic: But no one cared about him. People care about Kairi. Tell me you were touched by that ending in Kingdom Hearts. Anyone that says no is a damn liar. Ummmm, I wasn't touched by Kingdom Hearts ending at all. Maybe I'm less in touch with video games than most, or maybe you are more in touch with video games than most. But I hardly care what Kairi did in the Kingdom Hearts series. She's just sorta there to serve as the female interest to me. I put Claire/Kairi like this. To hell with the nominations. Given the nature of the boards, you would expect Kairi to get some strong noms. I see it like this though: We can say that Resident Evil and Kingdom Hearts are about equal in popularity on this site, right? Now Claire might not be a favorite of Resident Evil fans, but she sure isn't disliked. She's tolerable at the very least. Now, Kairi may have a lot of Kingdom Hearts fans, but there are probably plenty of KH fans (including myself and I bet others in this topic) that couldn't care less about her. Seeing as how you think Zelda is cleanly below Ganondorf Ulti, could
you really imagine Zelda erasing a deficit of at LEAST 60% against

Well, I'm hoping for my own sake only *steals bracket* that it was
less-so "Tidus is overrated" and moreso "Kirby is underrated". I think I mentioned this yesterday, but 2005 was pretty consistent for the Kirbmeister. Tripling a FFer, be it not an all that popular one (FF4A wasn't out then, was it?), did his 58% or so on Tidus, and then got 47-48% on Sir Koopa himself? Who got 49.5% on Snake? Maybe that last one was a bit of an overperformance, but it means Kirby at least has teh capability to overpeform quite a bit?
