and you're telling me that's what you want to add to the
crew? :) sometimes I think the analysis crew goes way too far and
writes 500 words for a match that isn't even worth debating, but at the

Yeah, people care faaaaaaaaar too much about being on the analysis
crew, you can still write your own and post them alongside theirs if
you really want to. The only two people I think that are notable
omissions from the crew is MM and KH, simply because I enjoy reading

you want to have some content there. Totally agreed. For the most part, I don't think you need to go further than a broad paragraph...but it depends, of course. Something that I thought about: I think it's interesting we're the only "band" of people who do analyses...I'm surprised nobody else on the board collected afew people and made their own version, and even go so far as to compare how they do to how we do. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. Something that I thought about: I think it's interesting we're the only "band" of people who do analyses...I'm surprised nobody else on the board collected afew people and made their own version, and even go so far as to compare how they do to how we do. I'm not too surprised. The rest of the board doesn't seem to care that much about the contest, strangely enough. I read every single write-up charmander makes, I can't say the same for
the analysis crew, though I always do check out at least a few, and

I did my own little analysis topic last year, and I like to hope that at least a few
people actually read it. I'd like to be on the crew because it pretty

Personally, I think you should assemble a five person Dream Team of
people who think differently enough that it'll always be interesting to
read the write-ups. I honestly only skimmed through the write-ups last
year, even on the debated matches, simply because there were too many
and they tended to all agree. With 5 people that don't think the same
way often, you'll get different picks and you'll get different avenues

for me personally, I already know what everyone is gonna say because I
spend so much time in here with the crew. I'll skim through it usually

I spend so much time in here with the crew. I'll skim through it
usually and read it on a match I'm anticipating, but usually I know how

Bad enough that it was the first contest I was here. Left a real bad impression of the crew in my mind. I still remember arguing with Inviso in that topic, and I was a contest newbie. It might've been the finals where she was saying that Mario will lose because he "has no personality" or some junk. A lot of the crew agreeing in the series contest was circumstantial.
There wasn't really a lot of data or indications of what to expect.
It's totally different with the character contest. Seeing already,
there are quite a bit of swing matches in this contest, just as there

I'm not so keen on The Boss myself... <_<; Plus I think Celes will be a bit
stronger than Terra was, by virtue of actually looking presentable!
Plus for as much as Terra supposedly bombed, she still ended up 3% less
than Kefka on Link, which was actually what I expected out of her. Only
the people screaming "hero-villain proportion!" actually expected
something out of her. But still, Terra ends up being high-end fodder...

you can still write your own and post them alongside theirs if you really want to. *shrugs* that's more or less what i do anyways. if nothing is being discussed before i go to bed or before i go to work, then i post my thoughts about the current or next match. sometimes, i don't have much to say, though, because i try not to repeat what's already been said. i do enjoy writing stuff, though....... well, when i have the time...... ^_^ --- i have officially been Z1mZum'D in the guru contest. Some of the "complaints" against us from the last contest do hold
water, I'm afraid. There were many of us, and we did tend to agree a
LOT, but we did put a ton of effort into the contest. There were days
where nearly all of us would churn out character-limit-long analyses,
and that's devotion that you really don't see too often. Of course, for
those people who preferred shorter write-ups, Ulti and Soul were
generally happy to oblige; there's were usually concise. Also, for those who think we were a bit too long-winded last time, I doubt we'll be quite as wordy this time around. Analyzing two complete series just seems like it would take more work and writing than two characters. Personally, I can't imagine writing as much about any two characters as I did for, say, GTA vs. Warcraft. --- Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... Part of your woooorld! |

as for Celes vs. The Boss...... i have no idea what will happen there.
i find it extremely unlikely that Celes will perform any different than
Terra. however, i am not familiar enough with MGS3 to know how The Boss

You can write a ton about characters as soon as you start incorporating
past performances and possible reasons for strength changes. Which is

topic or something. The only reason I even care about it being strict

Well, first of all, Big Boss was put in a nigh-unwinnable match, and
second, I believe the term that most MG fans know him as is "Naked
Snake", so there may be some reason as to why he bombed. I'm just not
sold on Celes being able to defeat a character from a gaming series
like MGS. Auron was easy to understand, because he is the "badass" of
the highly acclaimed FFX. Now, I know game's success don't translate
all too well here, but I thought the Boss being able to win would be

I'd take Ocelot to beat Terra (who I imagine would be a tad bit
stronger than Celes) pretty easily. The Boss will be weaker than
