I put Snake to win the bracket. Why? Because him simply going to exist
in SSBB has made me have a lot more interest in him, even though the
only MG game I've played is the origional. I'd even vote for him above
others I wouldn't have last year, and I'm assuming I'm not the only one
who thinks the same way as me. --- It's pitch black except for the light! |

I'm more psyched for the fact that we're not going to have any real
stats once we hit the Battle Royale. I mean, we'll have the last
match...and then pure guessing until we work down to the bracket final.
Mario and Sephiroth in particular are going to be impossible to gauge. --- Commit it to memory. |

I say we just do the stats based off of 2K5 Crono. He seems to stay
static as hell. Then we can just forget about the people above him,

Crono's been static for all of one year...and even then that's just
going by cn's stats, I'm more inclined to say he had a slight drop. And
it was once common wisdom to assume Mario was a character you'd expect
to be consistent...and then 2k5 happened and blew us out of the water. We should make our predictions POST-contest, at the very least, though if I were to give the nod to any character staying constant pre-contest I'd give it to Mega Man. That robot seems as solid as a Rock (pun intended). --- Commit it to memory. |

But 55% of the site has seen it.. How could it not have an effect on
Vincent, when he is a lot more prominent in it than in FFVII? Besides,
movie characters can't be popular now? That's not much of a point IMO.
Sure, gameFAQs is a gaming site, but the 55% viewer-rate is still
there, despite it being, in fact, a gaming site. And there's still the point of the film making people like Vincent more. I'd vote Vincent over Squall in the rematch, but voted Squall last year. Well I actually voted for Vincent, but I regretted that somewhat. Lol anecdotal, but you get the point. a FFVII remake would appeal mostly to FFVII fans as well. You think it wouldn't boost FFVII characters? The 55% viewership may be there, but it's still a FFVII movie which on paper would lead you to believe it would be very well received on the site the game helped build. A FFVII remake holds the critical key advantage over FFVII:Advent Children because it is a game; I would expect that to have a strong effect, just not the movie version of it. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

Considering that only 16.67% is needed to garner 1/6th of the votes,
thus guaranteeing your safety, Samus is most definitely going to get
less than 10% in the first round of the Battle Royal. A question I've been meaning to ask up until now, if Samus outdoes Mario vs. Crono 2K5 this year, will all you rSFF naysayers finally agree that it was rSFF? Depends on Crono's matches up to that point and if Nintendo seems even
*more* dominant than last time. I mean, if Bowser gets what he's more
or less expected to get on Leon but breaks 49% on Crono, I wouldn't
necessarily be impressed with Samus outdoing Mario. --- Commit it to memory. |

I'd just say Crono got weaker because of increased votals and float around in my happy land of rSFF. >_> To be a bit more serious, I don't expect Bowser to even get what he's expected to against Leon, as I would think Leon boosted thanks to the PS2 version of the game, unless some wacky kind of SFF occurs, but I don't see that as too big of a threat. --- Explicit Content Cheer Up Emo Kids - Team Tranny Did! |

Well, Samus might (will?) have Corruption by the time Samus/Crono
happens, so I don't think it's impossible for her to outdo Mario. That

Can someone please give reasons why Chun-Li will beat Kasumi? I don't wanna pick Kasumi and get it wrong but... 37% on Aeris vs. 34% on Bowser? Shouldn't this make the match somewhat debated? What happen? --- caps |

What would guys consider to be Board 8's most memorable contest
blunders? By that I mean, Board 8's clear, overwhelming favorite for a
particular match loses to his/her/its opponent. The ones I can remember
are: Character Battle I (Summer 2002): hmm, nothing really comes to mind, as this was the first contest. Character Battle II (Summer 2003): Link/Cloud Best. Game. Ever (Spring 2004): Halo/Starcraft Character Battle III (Summer 2004): Link/Cloud, I guess. Best. Villain. Ever (Spring 2005): Kuja/Master Hand Character Battle IV (Summer 2005): Magus/Knuckles Best. Series. Ever (Spring 2006): Grand Theft Auto/Warcraft, probably LoZ/FF as well Character Battle V (Fall 2006): ??? --- TOOMMMAAATOOOO SAAAAUUUUCCCCEEEE! (he seems pumped....perhaps?) |

Kasumi (2002c) VS Chun Li (2005c) Kasumi has a strength of 22.82. Chun Li has a strength of 24.92. Chun Li wins with 54.21% of the vote! A win of 6,940 with 82,356 total votes cast. Yeah, I guess Kasumi has no chance, even with DOA4. lol xbox. But I expect it to be closer than everyone thinks. --- caps |
