I just want to note something: my BOLD PREDICTION I kept making since last year's summer contest came true...Magus was snubbed. Word.

Now, with that said...****. I'll be looking over the bracket some more before I comment much, but who's Ada Wong?

Character in Resident Evil 2 and 4. Had a fairly large role in both.

Man, Sub-Zero > MC is so tempting, but I can't bring myself to do it...too risky and I can't justify it actually happening, though there's next to no doubt in my mind it'll be pretty close.

Zelda/Aeris should be good...gut says Zelda, mind says Aeris. I'm going with mind here for now, but time'll tell. No matter which one wins though, it'll certainly lead to some kind of interesting result. If Aeris wins, we get to see what kind of SFF she can give to Yuna...and considering she's in two big FF games (one being a lead role), I'd like to see how Miss Plot-Device handles her...and possibly compare it to Vincent/Squall? If Zelda wins, we get to see her face off against Samus and see how she does in comparison with Ganon...and, call me crazy, but she MIGHT be able to outdo him against her.

Joanna'll beat Cortana, I'm not worried about that one. Halo fans generally don't care about her, Joanna's had PDZ since last year, Joanna had her PDO look last year when only PD was out, and MAYBE Mario SFF'd her (only a touch though)...couple all that together, and I don't see her losing. There's a chance she won't impress, but I see her taking it regardless.

Squall's wasted.

Ganon/Vincent, first round? VICIOUS...the only thing that could have been worse was if it was to actually happen in a LATER FRIGGIN' ROUND!!! Way too early CJay, but props on actually giving us the match.

Luigi/Zero shall be good. I know I said Zero > Luigi the other day, but right now I got the green man.....

Oh, hey, and get this -- it's another unreliable year to try to get some kind of solid basis on Auron. We know just how trust-worthy Alucard is in the stats...then MC -- enough said...then he gets to face off against Crono, which will probably have a lil' SFF (hopefully not, but hell, right now we don't know). Throw in KH2 for Auron, and man...we'll just be guessing alot again.

don't see much (if any SFF) in Crono/Auron. I sure don't think he SFFed Vincent.

I know Vincent's from FF7 and all, but I would think that "old Square / new Square" holds here.

True...I just know Sephiroth SFF'd him some and Crono's next in line, but between Crono not being FF, Sephiroth > Crono, and KH2, I guess SFF should be resisted enough in that match to be his most reliable standing to date. Still though, it just feels weird.....

Am I the only one who actually thinks that MC will have a closer match with Auron than with Sub-Zero? This topic seems to love underrating the Chief.

I think it's quite likely that KOS-MOS had a random underperformance in 2k5, much like Sam Fisher 2k4 and Ken 2k3. Don't forget that she was projected to beat TAILS in 2k3 and 2k4, so unless you think that Amy is really strong, she's not taking the match over KOS-MOS.

It may be closer, but it won't be close. In 2k4, Auron outperformed Vivi on Sephiroth. Vivi beat DK with around 55% that year.

Last year, MC struggled greatly with DK (ending around 52%). Auron also has KH2 now, so the match really is quite obvious.

I agree that the match is obvious, but so is MC vs. Subby. MC vs. Alucard might've been an interesting match though...

I'm never putting stock into Halo-related characters in any big time matchup ever again. Sub-Zero's probably a bit weaker than MC though, but I'd be glad to see him beat MC.

Well the Sage of Board 8 has made his bracket...and leaderboard glory is gonna be mine this time around!

I know all the haters are just jonesing to see it...but I think I will hold it close the vest for a little while :)

But I will say I like this bracket...its actually got some challenge to it. And Celes made it :) But no Kitana...her spot stolen by worthless Kesumi...oh well. At least Subby represents MK in a match he has an outside chance in.

Soon the analysis' shall begin...bring on Round 1...bring it bring it!

Kairi vs. Claire. creative said exactly what I'm thinking: I don't see Kairi being strong at all, but I just can't see Claire winning that match.

I've also felt like this, but I have Claire winning. I'll probably end up switching it before the deadline, as I really feel uncomfortable with Claire. There's just been too much time since 2002 for her to fall off the radar. Jill has fallen far (but I'm still taking her over Peach!), and I wouldn't put Claire over Jill todayl.

I mean, I know Kairi is going to be weak as hell, but still, at least she has the recent KH2 going for her.

I'm picking Kairi solely due to her being the flavor of the month among KH fans. Claire's been out of the RE spotlight a bit too long. And I'm not putting any stock in a 2k2 x-stat ranking.

This bracket confuses and annoys me. Specifically the lack of Knuckles and Shadow, but being a Sonic fanboy I think that was inevitable for me.

Beyond that I think Ganon-Vincent will be anti-climantic, with one or the other winning fairly handily (around 52-53% without ever really being threatened). As to who it will be specifically, I have Ganon, but it could just as easily be Vincent.

Zero/Luigi/Kirby is tough because they're all hovering around each other in strength, and could all easily beat one another. At the moment I've got Zero because I like him far more than Kirby and Luigi, but I think the more intelligent money is on Kirby.

Zelda-Aeris should be a lot like Ganon-Vincent, except I think Zelda is the clear favorite in this one.

A lot of potential in this bracket, here's hoping we get a couple of good nailbiters.

I hear you on the nailbiters. We haven't had a match go into the final 15 minutes with the winner still in doubt since Frog/Master Chief, unless you count Vercetti/Kefka, which I really don't due to the cheating.

I picked Claire>Kairi, Phoenix>Gordon, Luigi>Zero, Yoshi>Dante, and Mega Man>the entire bracket, but my bracket is as much a favorites bracket than it is a serious bracket, so I can't really be taken seriously. Although I never picked something I didn't think had a chance to happen.

You know, Phoenix Wright is a popular game on the DS, a very popular system on this site. I don't think it's so far out to have Phoenix beating Gordon.

RE4 is big, but not THAT big. I also know games =/= characters (and think PW's character > game), but gettin' 40+% on Gordon means he can hang with Jin, Agent 47, Lloyd, or Geno...and when that poll shows the PW game isn't that big anyway on top of my gut saying PW won't match any of those characters in strength, well, no, I'm not taking him at all.

GF/PW is probably my toughest choice right now.

My head says go with Gordon, but then the little voice starts screaming the names Tina Armstrong, Sam Fisher and Max Payne.....

As for therealmnm, I don't see why his value shouldn't be taken any more seriously than anybody else's. I'm not crazy about the concentrated-PC-fanbase idea, and and Gordon getting 40+% each match is bound to be more of a coincidence in his situations. Also, with PW, even without usin Gordon's current value you can likely afford to give Gordon similar credit to that anyway.
