While the new game releases are sure to affect the contest drastically
I'm more interested in how the new console releases will affect the
contest. With two new consoles and a ton of games coming out I'd like
to know how vote totals will be affected by the influx of people to the
site. --- "Not really. In return, I eat your soul. You just don't notice."-lettuce Kefka Formally know as FRODOLINKSAMUSMASTER |

Wow, great bracket. Looks like fun. Comments: - Nidoran F? Were we seriously that desperate for female competitors? - Tingle, but no Knuckles? - Alucard vs. Auron? Why must the two sexiest men in the bracket be set against each other in the first round?! *sniffles* - Axel made it! Yaaay......against Mega Man? That's an obvious Final Four. Samus has her side in the bag, only Aeris
can challenge Zelda, and that match will most likely be post-TP. Mega
Man also has his side in the bag (unless you believe in MGS4 and SSBB
hype for Snake), and Sonic may challenge Crono, but I doubt it. --- Moltar Status: Bracket filled and ready to go. 2006 is the year of Samus Aran |

Heroic Mario | Posted 8/26/2006 3:59:11 PM | message detail |
Aye? On which match? Sonic should be able to take his round two opponent. Ganon taking out Sonic in a close match. The biggest reason for this, of course, is Twilight Princess. The match takes place on October 28th barring no delays, which means it should be cutting it real close with the release of the Wii. Added to that, Ganon is already in a nice position to not need a massive boost in order to take out Sonic. If you adjust him up a couple of points for SFF against Samus, which makes complete sense, Sonic is projected to win with 53%. --- "Winning isn't about being lucky, it's about being bold." -- Captain Falcon |

HM...making a good pick?... *hugs GFNW tightly* Er, but seriously, I've been inclined towards Ganondorf > Sonic myself. I have Sonic winning the male bracket, so yeah, if I were to think
Ganon could beat him I'd have him winning the main bracket as well. ...somehow I don't see that happening. --- Commit it to memory. |

Wow, people are actually entertaining Ganon > Sonic? Meh. It's not
like Sonic doesn't have anything going for himself as well, as he has plenty of games coming out in the near future. Unless TP actually releases, people beat the game, and Ganon has a monstrous role all before that matchup, I don't see how Ganon has a chance. --- Nominate Carmen Sandiego for SC2k6 Currently playing: Fable, MGS3:S, GTA:SA, MMAC |

Wow, people are actually entertaining Ganon > Sonic? Meh. It's
not like Sonic doesn't have anything going for himself as well, He has nothing going for him before that match actually takes place that is actually noteworthy enough to compete with Twilight Princess. The hype before the monstrous release would be greater than the PS3/360 game he has coming out ... on November 17th. Unless TP actually releases, people beat the game, and Ganon has a monstrous role all before that matchup, I don't see how Ganon has a chance. People don't need to beat the game at all. It simply releasing will be more than enough to do what small boosting it would need to do for Ganon. The monstrous role in the game is practically confirmed if Nintendo's statements are to be believed, but yeah. The difference between Sonic and Ganon now is not that big. --- "Winning isn't about being lucky, it's about being bold." -- Captain Falcon |

I've heard from the grapevine that... er... Dante's making a cameo
appearance in TP as a hidden character. That's it, Dante to take the
main bracket! I won't be bested by you! --- The mission is a failure! Cut the power right now! |
smitelf | Posted 8/26/2006 4:10:42 PM | message detail |
Ganon wouldn't necessarily have to win the entire male side if he beats
Sonic. Sonic, Mega Man, and Crono are all so close that if Ganon were
to beat Sonic in a close victory (I'm thinking in the 0.0X percents)
then it would be a toss-up against Mega Man and a close defeat against
Crono. I don't think Ganon beating Sonic is the most likely option -- it's an upset, but a conceivable one. Still, the fact that he is a villain not named Sephiroth makes me reluctant to really get behind Ganon...that, and the fact that Canadians can actually compete in the contest this year <<; --- Official Queen ***** of the Universe! Now that I've started this rumor, Dante will boost for sure... that along with the massively popular DMC3: SE, he's at least got Snake's number. (This'll happen in the sprite round, too!) ...
