The site is becoming more and more pro-Nintendo If you could only buy one of the three next generation consoles, which would you choose? PlayStation 3 33.23% 13384 Wii 50.88% 20491 Xbox 360 12.86% 5180 I really don't want any of them 3.02% 1216 TOTAL VOTES 40271 Really? I thought that PS3 was doing great compared to Wii today. It's hard to get much more pro-Wii than what it's at right now. I mean,
seriously, its release date is more anticipated than both the PS3's
date AND Christmas. Any more pro-Wii, and the site would pprroobbaabbllyy explode. Probably. --- Z1mZum performed a hit and run on me in the Guru Contest. It still hurts to be rear-ended like that..... |

MP3:C will have little to no effect on Samus. We've seen enough
evidence that proves that Samus's strength comes more from SSB than her

MP3:C will have little to no effect on Samus. We've seen enough
evidence that proves that Samus's strength comes more from SSB than her
own games. I disagree. Samus may get a LOT of her strength from SSB, but it's not like Metroid
is suddenly a non-factor. There's a reason why she went from 50/50 with
Sonic to 58-42 against him, and why Metroid Prime got 45% on Wind
Waker. The Prime games do have a following here, though they'll never
contribute as much to her strength as Twilight Princess for Link or
MGS4 for Snake. --- Commit it to memory. |

Okay... keep on believing that one you should! Not like it would ever
have the chance to bite you in the ass, unless you actually think
someone below Samus could beat her, and then that has nothing to do
with MP3, as she'd beat them anyway. MP3 I
believe should be the most anticipated Wii game, even if it isn't, and
technically isn't my most anticipated either (Hey there Super Monkey
Ball!), but it fully takes advantage of the Wiimote, granted Shiggy
said he just went back and tweaked TP around more to incorporate the

But last I heard it won't make the launch...and even if it did, I
certainly wouldn't expect *that* much of a boost. A lot of people have
been turned off to the Prime series because of MP2, and then you've got
to factor the Metroid series not being that popular in the first place. --- Commit it to memory. |

Samus really has nowhere to boost to.. I guess her inevitable match
with Crono stops being debatable, but she'd need to boost above

If Sephiroth hadn't just had AC and KH2, I could find a
really convincing argument to put Samus over Sephiroth this year, long

Um...that whole 'day of the match' thing is iffy, especially in an SFF
affair (which is what I consider MM > Samus to be in the first
place). I know I wouldn't take her to do much better on Mario...I'd

Just to be all bitter, I'd feel better about taking Sora over Aeris than anyone not named Link or Cloud over Sephiroth. I don't ever fiddle with the numbers, but I'm guessing there would have to be an ungodly amount of SFF in Samus/Mario to propel her over Sephiroth. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

I know it was a stretch, and pretty damn risky, but I could make a case
for it, so I went with it.... this year there's no chance in hell,
which sucks nuts. Unless it comes to be that the Wii is released, and
MP3 comes out like 3-5 days before Samus' match with Seph, then I'd say

And I think Samus does much better on Seph than 2K4 predictions show. No, and I didn't say I was, either. Yeah there was SFF, but I'm still a believer in that even ignoring the SFF Samus still loses. Look, the Seph/Mario match was not close, it really just wasn't: Sephiroth 56.08% 64643 Mario 43.92% 50629 TOTAL VOTES 115272 Mario 59.79% 58304 Samus Aran 40.21% 39215 TOTAL VOTES 97519 First Samus has to benefit from all the SFF needed to put her over Mario, and then she needs that much more to put her over Seph. Without SFF I take Samus to win that match with absolute ease, I'm
talking Ulti-style blowout here. I also think she has the ability to
overperform on Seph, but that's an entirely different story on it's
own, and since there's not going to be any chance in HELL of it

Sephiroth 2k5 does all of a percent better on Samus 2k4 than he does on Mario 2k5. The idea that Samus didn't boost when nearly every other Nintendo character boosted is flimsy at best, and if you want to say she got the same kind of a boost that Mario did, then she's dead-even with Seph in 2k5. MP3 should give her the clear edge in beating that value. Like I said, it's a real stretch, but IMO it's silly to think Samus didn't boost in 2k5. --- Commit it to memory. |

Samus/Seph and Mario/Seph are still Nintendo/Square and Nintendo/Square matches. Are more Nintendo fans going to support Samus than Mario, or is Samus going to pull more of the "indifference" vote in a match between two popular characters that most people aren't indifferent about in the first place? That said, I'd much rather see Samus/Seph this year than another Mario/Seph. and Yoshi > Mega Man, duh. --- Revenge is a dish best served by Z1mZum in the 2k6 Series Guru Contest. |

Also, while I consider Link/Mario to be flukish, there's no telling if
Link/Samus is the same for the same reasons. 2k3 was the TAKE LINK DOWN
year almost as much as 2k2 was TAKE MARIO DOWN. And in any case, even if it is legit I don't let it bother me on MM/Samus. You just simply don't get that much SFF when you're that strong...Mega Man got more SFF on Yoshi than Link did, after all (and debatably gets more than Mario could get). --- Commit it to memory. |

eh, I'd think Samus would smash Yoshi in a similar manner to what Mega
Man did. MM / Ganon would probably be about the same, maybe a point or
two more for Mega Man. Samus hasn't really faced a lower-tier Nintendo
character - put her against something like Ness or Fox and it wouldn't

I knew someone would say Isaac.. there's no way to judge how strong he is. (and what about Felix !!) Felix was behind MC...but honestly, Issac is at the fodder line where he is right there. I would be very surprised to see him be any stronger...I certainly don't think there was significant SFF. but nothing was thought to be weird in Samus / Sora !! Didn't you see MG/KH??? I know it's not unpopular, but as you start bringing Issac up you start
running into people that I would never give him a ghost of a chance
