I think the whole "rivalry" thing between the two has just about run
its course. Crono has only one once in their entire history; he doesn't

I'd vote for Falcon based off of F-Zero, but the masses likely aren't to do the same, I'd imagine. And what of Soma? What's expected out of him? I wouldn't expect very much, myself. Even though there's the whole female side of the bracket or whatever, I
still feel incredibly sad that Nidoran F made it into a contest before
Commander Keen. That, and I wish my 'Billy Blaze' alt was able to post

It was supposedly over after 2k4 as well as Mario wasn't expected to win for a long time. A somewhat fair point. But looking back at their history, Mario has won three out of the four encounters, with the latest being the largest win yet. Mario's got reason to keep on increasing, too. The whole rivalry thing between the two is terribly one sided and really doesn't have that spark it did before. You aren't going to get much discussion out of a Mario/Crono match anymore, I don't think. Goodbye, Slow! See you tomorrow, when the bracket is announced. How did Tingle make the field? Remember that not only was the nom form directly linked from the FF/Zelda poll, but that said poll was held only 6 days after 100k+ voters had viewed THIS picture: http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/gallery/albums/bse2k6/bse25.jpg With Link out of the Contest, Zelda fans still had those three characters fresh in their minds when given the opportunity to nominate. How did Nidoran F make the field? She was the top character that LUE and LL pushed for in the week after the noms came up. Why, I don't know. How will the bracket look? With the way the females line up exactly like we thought they would, while longshots like Nidoran and Tingle are listed last, it seems clear to me that this was their total # of noms order, and thus, will determine how they're seeded. Solid Snake > Sora > Sonic > Crono. Samus > Zelda > Tifa > Yuna. Soma > CATS > Captain Falcon > Tingle. Roll > Carmen Sandiego > Ivy > Nidoran F. If that's correct, then the bracket will be... 1. Snake 8. Tingle 1. Crono 8. Soma (strongest 1 gets rewarded with weakest 1) 1. Sora 8. Captain Falcon 1. Sonic 8. CATS And on the girl's side, 1. Samus 8. Nidoran F 1. Yuna 8. Roll 1. Zelda 8. Ivy 1. Obviously, but seeing how they would perform is interesting. Would Sora
outdo what Master Chief did? How would Face CATS do against a Noble

1. Snake 8. Tingle 1. Crono 8. Soma 1. Sora 8. Captain Falcon 1. Sonic 8. CATS Thoughts: - Falcon gets Sora? Awesome! We might not get to see a Nom Rally character actually win a match this season, but at least we know one is going to have a great performance in the first round, and against a 1 seed, no less. - Tingle to Snake? Great, that's his best possible opportunity for 06's Neo-Tanner. - Crono's 4th place positioning makes it likely that Mega Man (who you'd have to assume finished 5th) will be placed in his division. Crono/MM, with the winner taking on Snake? As long as Snake gets challenged by the 2 and 3 seeds in that division (maybe Vincent #2 with Ganon as the 3?), you can sign me up! - As long as MM isn't his 2 (and I have a hard time seeing MM slip to the 7th most-nommed character), the Sora division should be a real crapshoot. Even a decent 4 will have a chance of taking him out. Very exciting. - Here's hoping for Bowser as the 2 in Sonic's division! Though truth be told, I wouldn't have any problem with a MM/Sonic Elite 8 rematch. --- 1. Samus 8. Nidoran F 1. Yuna 8. Roll 1. Zelda 8. Ivy 1. Tifa 8. Carmen Sandiego - Cool, Nidoran gets the worst possible matchup. Here's hoping to see her challenge Tanner. - Huzzah, we'll get that Zelda/Tifa match I've been waiting for! As long as Aeris gets into either Zelda or Tifa's division, I'm happy with the bottom of the bracket. - Good, Samus will only waste Yuna and whoever the 2 over there is. Here's hoping the weak Yuna conference ends a crapshoot... maybe something along the lines of Peach as the 2 and Chun Li as the 3 in that division?
