At least we get a clue when we get modded, though. Remember that time
he got modded TWICE for making a stats topic? Not only did he NOT get
it, he threatened to sue CJayC on MBH. "Bt I'm not a troll! RLY!" If that's not slow-witted, I don't know what is. I personally don't want to see serious characters omitted just so
some slow witted board 8'ers can have a 5 minute lol at a joke

Guys, on this Jay Solano thing... why else do you think Ceej changed
the format of the contest the way he did? It eliminates our joke trash.
He's entirely aware of our nominating power AND out stupid little
trends. Hell, the only reason to make it 7+7 instead of 5+5 is probably
because he's aware of Leonhart's nomination rally topics (though Slow
kicked off this year's) and didn't want us to lose ALL of our
nominations to it. He sees us, and he's saying we need to knock this

as worthless as he is Bingo. That's the only reason you need. He's not worth the time when worthy characters like Knuckles are on the fringe. I don't need someone like Solano stealing his spot. I don't give a crap if he "meets all of the requirements" or not. We don't need him. Leon, I'm sur ethe reason we have limited space is because of our
rallying insipid characters. Besides, why do we need Solano when there
are so many opotunities to do nearly the same with some of the females
we have. I wouldn't be shocked if Ms. Pac-Man made it AND failed to

Apparently he takes his contests seriously. If you want joke contests, check out the many on the board. This is a one of a kind character battle, largest of its scale in the world. The best Ms. Pac-Man could have ever done was asecond worst to Mr.
Driller and I can't remmeber who was weaker. Point still stands,

I wouldn't have minded if he stated on the nomination form that
nominating blatant fodder wouldn't be allowed. He did it before for the
Spring 2004 Contest nominations. At least with tetris blocks, "mass
carriers" and Midgar Zolom you could argue that they weren't
characters. Jay Solano is a legitmate entry. why else do you think Ceej changed the format of the contest the way he did? It eliminates our joke trash. He's entirely aware of our nominating power AND out stupid little trends. If he was trying to reduce our power, he would put the nominations on the front page for a longer period of time. However, getting Solano into the contest defeats the purpose of the
contest anyway. It's a popularity contest. People want him in because

Oh, and it's pretty clear the main reason the ToC is likely to return
is because of this format. I have a feeling Ceej wouldn't have done it
if he didn't have to cut 24 slots for male characters. idiots" outright on the nominations page instead of doing this

No one should whine as much as people do when their favorites lose. What really annoys me is when people play dumb as to why one of their jokes isn't getting in "But Jay Solano is a perfectly acceptable entry!" In theory, yes. But you all know there's a damn good reason he's not getting in. XIII, especially, seems convinced that CJayC is actually "a masochist who enjoys the hate", which is the only possible reason Midgar Zolom could be excluded, as he is obviously a legitamate character we should all seriously consider and Ceej is screwing us all over by ignoring what the people want. --- Andel thought he was the only one capable of not living up to a bet. If CJayC doesn't start this contest until sometime in September, he'll
be cutting it awfully close to Wii and Twilight Princess. I love how
there's an additional "beat the clock" element to this contest. It may

Exactly. It bugs me that people are getting out of shape because a joke
character isn't going to be accepted, even though there's a good reason
why they won't be. Honestly, I don't see how you can blame Ceej for
wanting to hold somebody like Jay Solano out, whether he's "legitimate"
or not. It's not in the best interest of a popularity contest (to his
admission and ours) to include a character from a system that less than

It could possibly matter. Cloud does have his movie and Kingdom Hearts
II for a boost. I don't see how either of those could really help Final

I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, there WILL be plenty of people searching for help on the game. But in the scope of whether Link wins or not, no. It may seem crazy, but he might just be an even bigger lock now than he was in 2003. Bigger lock than 2003? I don't see why. We already know Cloud can
consistently hit the upper 40's on Link, and he has reason to boost
this year. Plus, how much stock do you really want to put in a contest
where Mario's games perform better on Final Fantasy than Mario himself

And by the way, while seeing JS perform would no doubt be entertaining,
the idea of getting him into the contest... meh. What if he fails to
beat Tanner's record of futility? It'd be all for nothing. Seriously, you'd almost be better off nominating Mukurogani (the Giant Enemy Crab). Also, I get the feeling that if Jay were to make the field, he'd bring
the CATS syndrome with him, whereby he inevitably draws board votes at
the start of the poll. People have been working for a year to get this
guy in the contest. If he makes it in, does anyone really expect the
board to do what it's supposed to do? "Ok, guys, it took a year of work, but he's actually in the contest!!! Now... NOBODY VOTE FOR HIM. NOBODY VOTE FOR JAY SOLANO." That'll never happen. He'd get some CATS votes. You know, why doesn't CJay just have one joke character a year, and
let it be the one that got the most nominations? CATS is tradition,
granted, but he honestly should have been retired after his match with
Ansem... Are you kidding? CATS/Ansem was when CATS fever reached it's peak. It was the first time we got reason to hope that CATS might someday win a match. Taking him out after that would have been cruel. What Ceej should have done is give him a winnable match in the summer contest... then maybe think about retiring him after he got his win. --- Z1mZum is the latest guru to destroy me in the Guru Contest.
