Of course he'll continue to get used in Kingdom Hearts. Final Fantasy
VII is a cash cow. Square would be stupid not to keep using Cloud and

The Compilation fails if we don't have a game about the Wutai war. And Sephiroth's survived so many deaths that I doubt that he'll ever be truly dead; SE will probably just pull the Deus Ex Machina excuse of having a random person acting as a host to him due to a surviving concentration of Jenova cells. They're not going to kill off their most popular villain anytime soon. --- z1mzum was the one to fill my dark soul with LIIIIGHHHT! |

Too bad Tifa has always had a larger place in Cloud's heart! You
never saw Aerith in the Lifestream sequence, did you? NO, SIR! The
"sealed up, secret wish...tender memories, no one can ever know" refers
to Tifa, not Aerith! Childhood crush! We all had 'em! Besides, Tifa helped Cloud out because of Aerith. She's so considerate and selfless! Clearly a reason why Cloud prefers her! Cloud only felt guilt because of what happened to her, not true love! He felt the same guilt about Zack! Pfft! He was upset that he was let her die before he busted out the ring! What does it matter? Sephiroth was still used and made to look like
a superbadass. He's still being whored out after being killed how many
times? ... That's generally the point. There's no problem with him being there as a cameo appearance in games like Kingdom Hearts. Square would be stupid to not put Sephiroth in a game like that. He can instantly get people intersted who would otherwise not be, which means a potential sale for Square. --- The winner begins with Z1m and ends with Zum... This is the truth! They're not going to kill off their most popular villain anytime soon. Well, he's really only died once before AC, and Square explained why he was able to come back in rather fine detail. They'd have a hard time explaining why he was able to come back a second time after how he went out. His line "I won't be a memory" or whatever is just one of those the villains always bust out before dying. "I SHALL NEVER BE DEFEATED!!! *dies*" That sort of thing. And Cloud's story was brought to a close with Advent Children. I doubt they'll bother continuing it when it left off in a perfect way. Their other games seem to be focusing on other FFVII characters to flesh them out now anyway -- Vincent (DoC), Zack (CC), Turks (BC), etc. --- The winner begins with Z1m and ends with Zum... his future return. Considering that he noticed that Meteor failed, I'd
say it's quite likely that he knew that Aeris was responsible for
manipulating the lifestream in order to halt it. After all, it's not
that farfetched to imagine that he spent a few days in the lifestream
after his defeat in FF VII. He'd likely suspect that Aeris would
attempt to attack his incarnations and would've developed a back up
plan in case of that result. Besides, it's Cloud and Sephiroth. Light and Dark. It's a common literary device for their conflict to only truly be over when both of them die. --- z1mzum was the one to fill my dark soul with LIIIIGHHHT! |

(Woohoo FFVII/AC Spoilers!!) Except there was no panic or fear in his voice when he warned Cloud of his future return. Considering that he noticed that Meteor failed, I'd say it's quite likely that he knew that Aeris was responsible for manipulating the lifestream in order to halt it. He certainly was unaware of how bad of an idea it was to kill Aerith. Holy, after all, was not able to stop Meteor by itself. Aerith had to call upon the Lifestream in the Planet to combine with Holy in order to stop Meteor. He may have discovered this after his time in the Lifestream, but it wouldn't have really mattered much anyway. After all, it's not that farfetched to imagine that he spent a few days in the lifestream after his defeat in FF VII. He'd likely suspect that Aeris would attempt to attack his incarnations and would've developed a back up plan in case of that result. His time spent in the Lifestream was corrupting it and trying to create a "Negative Lifestream" that would overtake the current Lifestream and give him complete control over the Planet. Imagine the scene with Kadaj walking into the water and spreading the black substance -- his will -- through the water and changing it. Similar thing happened in the Lifestream. But Square's not made any mention of him worrying about Aerith. Besides, it's Cloud and Sephiroth. Light and Dark. It's a common literary device for their conflict to only truly be over when both of them die. They were able to explain Sephiroth's return fairly easily this time, and while it is still possible, most feel it'd be a big stretch to bring him back again. But I doubt it's worth worrying about anyway. Square seems rather focused with taking care of the events pre-FFVII over post-FFVII at this point. DoC is the only game scheduled to come after FFVII right now. Wait. Does The List have anything to do with The Plan? It might! --- The winner begins with Z1m and ends with Zum... This is the truth! I was being hypothetical with my Crono scenario. That's why I used the word "if." I was very disappointed by Advent Children. The fanservice was OK, but I was expecting an actual good movie. Exactly. And she did a crappy job of it, too. See, Yuffie's even generous! Yuffie can only take so much Materia, so if you overstock, chances are
you'll get left with SOMETHING at least. Of course, my first time

I never have very much materia because all I use is HP Plus and Command materia. Magic lowers your strength too much! Except last game, where I used Aeris all disc 1. She's awesome in battle due to her obscene magic stat, but on anyone else Magic is mostly useless. --- Andel thought he was the only one capable of not living up to a bet. [King of Board 8] |

And I have a very basic principle for RPGs: Magic sucks because it's
not the first choice in combat so you have to go through the menus. Too
