And like you said, he hasn't been around for 11 years bar the cameo in Cross. Why would Square re-introduce him now? They did re-release Chrono Trigger as part of Final Fantasy Chronicles on the PSX a few years ago. I think he was talking hypothetically. Has it been confirmed that
Chrono Trigger is on the virtual console? And like you said, he hasn't
been around for 11 years bar the cameo in Cross. Why would Square
re-introduce him now? There hasn't been too much confirmed from a third party perspective other than Sega's games appearing on the system. But you have to imagine a popular game like Chrono Trigger is going to be appearing on the Virtual Console. It was on the SNES, Square and Nintendo have good relations these days, and it's a new way to expose a ton of new people to the game. And all Square has to do is announce a Chrono Trigger remake for either the DS or next-gen consoles (Maybe even Wii instead of PS3, which would be huge), and Crono will go skyrocketing. Even a new Chrono game with him as the main character would -- Crono defends Guardia GOGOGO! But yeah, it's really easy to see Crono getting a boost. He could be a cameo in something like Kingdom Hearts III and be set too. It's just too easy for Crono to get something within the next five years over absolutely nothing at all. I'll say Fact. If Chrono gets nothing, including CT on the Virtual Console, then it might be sooner than that. I see no reason to assume Crono is getting weaker, so you'd have to figure a number of characters are going to be worth 40%+ on Base Link. --- The winner begins with Z1m and ends with Zum... They're still pretty damn big for a more "realistic" environment. They
could afford to overexaggerate in the original because it looked pretty

And, hey, the Chrono series is one of Square's best non-Final Fantasy
sellers. Chrono Trigger sold 2.3 million worldwide and Chrono Cross
sold 1.5 million. It's rather understandable why we didn't see

Kadaj throws a giant-ass tantrum near the end, too. It's not just Loz -
it's the fact that Sephiroth himself was a pathetic pansy, so obviously

*AC spoilers* Advent Children sucked. The whole movie was just an excuse to bring back Sephiroth for one last fight, which lacked any tension because everything was so ridiculously over-the-top. Cloud wins at the end not because he outfights Sephiroth, but because he just decides to whip out Omnislash. At the end, absolutely nothing has changed--Cloud has gone from a grumpy introvert to a jolly good guy, just like he did throughout FFVII, and Sephiroth is dead and buried. Again. Though, in Seph's words, he will "never become a memory", meaning that Square can whore him out for as many sequels as they wish. It was such a stupid and pointless movie. I really don't see the big deal with the movie being fanservice. It's
not like anyone was expecting anything different. As long as it's good

The fact that one of his parts was dilluted in the Lifestream by Aerith minutes before another two parts of himself was dilluted pretty much reduces his will's influence to nothing. He's not going to be able to come back any in canon game that comes after Advent Children in the timeline. He was in both Kingdom Hearts games and I'm sure he'll be in the 3rd (Not including CoM) whenever it comes out. Kingdom Hearts does not follow the established Final Fantasy VII timeline. It's generally regarded as an entirely different universe. Make no mistake, Sephiroth will still make appearances in Final Fantasy VII games and cameos and such, but it just won't be if the game comes after Advent Children story-wise. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a game where he's the main character from sometime in the past. --- The winner begins with Z1m and ends with Zum... This is the truth! It doesn't matter and the Sephiroth fight from Kingdom Hearts 1 (I
haven't fought him in 2 yet) is one of the few things I actually like
about the KH1 and 2. --- Let's welcome Chaos. |
