Mario may not be actually closing the vote gap (Haven't been keeping up
with it, sadly), but he's sure cutting into the % something fierce,

Heh, I called this match breaking Link/Cloud's record one day before
LoZ/FF does it a day later. Still, I never expected Mario to be so
close. Hopefully the day vote can at least make it interesting come the
final few hours... or not. At least I'm convinced that LoZ/FF will be

FFT Cleric SSCC (Limberry) As in "solo straight challange challenge" or "special stright character challenge". That's Alma's class right? Cause thats insane if its solo straight character challenge. Too good. I'm trusting extrapolation less and less here. Super Smash
Brothers is 4th strongest, no question, but it's not head and shoulders
above everything else like the Big Three are. I don't care how well you
age or how Nintendo-oriented the site gets, you're talking about a game
that nearly lost to FFX and very well may have on a different day or
with a different picture. Adding SSB makes it powerful, sure, but not
to the ridiculous extent that these performances imply (and if Final
Fantasy beats Zelda tomorrow, it'll be even more). And if you want to
say it was potentially SFFed... If anything, it makes Sonic too strong. --- Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal. These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace. These are codes of behavior. |

He was in 2002, but that's because Sephiroth won over Samus in a really
close fight, giving him a higer place in the x-stats than both Mario
and Cloud (Who almost doubled him in 2003) --- Tails would nominate you for the next character contest if he could. |

Wow, I had no idea FF would take the night vote THAT badly. Mario
needs complete domination during the day to even make this a match. I don't think there's any realistic hope for a comeback or a photo finish match - not when the lead is already 4500. Still, after the first round, this match was easily presumed to go 60/40 in Final Fantasy's favor. Yeah, that's what got me thinking this is...problematic. Virtually every series outside of the Big Three struggling to break 40% on SSB? I wouldn't go so far as to completely assume rSFF yet. If Final Fantasy
still wins tomorrow -- or, insanely, actually beats Zelda by more than
Mario -- I'll be more suspicious of Mario overperforming than anything

If Mario stays above 47% for the rest of the match, Zelda goes in as
the definite favorite. This is not even slightly debatable unless you
believe at least one of the following theories: 1. Mario, as a series, is pretty damn close to Zelda in terms of strength. 2. Mario is getting some Nintendo support that Zelda won't receive. Now, unless the vaunted "voter shift" has favored just Mario more than it has actually favored Nintendo, I see no reason to believe #1, especially since Link would have still broken 60% on Mario last year. Of course, #2 just sounds goofy. If any Nintendo site is linking to today's poll, they'll link to tomorrow's one. I also expect Nintendo fanboys and rally-ers to be even more tenacious tomorrow - last chance and all. --- Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your WOOOOOOOOORLD!!! |

I dunno, maybe it's the match picture, but the more I look at those
ultra-badass pictures of Mario against nose-picker this just feels so
much like an overperformance. I'd like it not to be, even if it means
Final Fantasy loses tomorrow (I can handle the lesser series winning if
it means Mario is that strong). I wish Ceej had just gone with Advent Children Cloud in place of Ashe, if only to soothe my fears. In my eyes and the eyes of many, Cloud = Power. Well, actually I'd *really* like Final Fantasy to beat Zelda by more
than it beats Mario, and thus have Mario be the second strongest series. Actually, I'd REALLY *REALLY* like Mario to come back with a vengeance now, cap off the biggest comeback of all time, and whomp The Legend of Zelda's candy ass from here to next Sunday. *sigh* I don't usually get what I want. --- Do not kill.
