I was going to make some sort of sixth sense joke about how the reason you didn't notice them was because you were in fact... hardy har har? anyway, the match isn't changing drastically just because of that picture. That said, these themes are just....vastly underwhelming. I know people really love the sprites, but I think the Round I matches were the best pics so far. Maybe it's just easier/more....exciting to do/look at character battle pictures, but the series pictures, for me, were bleh. --- Revenge is a dish best served cold. ~ Old Klingon Proverb |

I hate to bring it back up, but with the LoZ/FF/Mario ordeal from
earlier...I got to looking between MG and SSB, and if we were to assume
that LoZ and SMB were equals (not the case, of course), then an
arguably-SFF'd SSB would get 65.32% on MG (MG is at 26.52% at the time
of this post). Considering that we debated before the contest about who
would be the fourth strongest and many of us agreed MG would be
stronger than SSB, this would obviously not be the case. So now let's
say SMB gets 40% on FF and we assume FF wins it all. SSB now gets
56.65% on MG, which is much better...but I for one know that I would
stand by taking MG > SSB right now, and I doubt I'm the only one.
So, if we were to rely on the stats to prove that MG >= SSB, not
bothering with any SFF and still assuming FF wins it all, SMB would
have to get 34.68% or worse against FF...and the more SFF there was in
SMB/SSB, the lower that goes. I'm not calling for that kind of beating. However, again, unless the statistics look VERY different in the end I'll stick with MG >= SSB...so to help keep that in line, either SMB will not impress tomorrow or LoZ will beat FF in an Ulti-blowout or better. Of course, this arguement relies on MG/SSB being close together -- if SSB really is leagues ahead of MG, wow, but I'm not buying that one. --- Miss my Four-Pack Of Fun? Yep, pretty underwhelming on the whole. Of course, this probably was
CJayC's toughest contest as far as pictures are considered. Capturing
an entire series of games within a few square inches doesn't sound like

Yeah, barring an absolute massacre from FF (and I stress
this) followed by a great showing from Zelda, SSB *is* leagues ahead of
Metal Gear. And I just can't see Mario not getting over 40%, even if it

I've never ever seen a bigger fan of anything than future is a MG fan. And just you wait. In two weeks' time HM will downplay MG as a thing of the past. Speaking of the dashing hero himself, where do you guys expect FFXII
characters to end up placing in strength? I suppose it might be best to
wait to see how GameFAQs takes to the game, but what are expectations

From what I've been told, the characters themselves are not very
important, sort of like FFT (considering it's made by the same guy, not
surprising). More story driven than character driven. --- As you wish. |

I see FF12's characters below FF10's myself. I'd probably still put

From the sound of it, it is definitely more story driven than anything
else, but I wouldn't imagine that really stopping any of the characters
from being strong. I could see Ashe and Balthier, in particular, being

FFXII will be very controversial, I think. About half the fanbase will
love it and the other half will wonder where the hell FF went. So I
think that because of the split, FFXII's cahracters won't be as strong
as most other FF games. I could see Baltheir maybe being as strong as

You have the option to have the battle system go back to you choosing what each character does on their turn and what not. I really doubt you'll have very many people complaining about any of the others, with the sole exception of Vaan who doesn't look like too good a character anyway. The real question is, after as universally panned as the demo was, will they even give the game the time of day? I'm in the minority, as I lvoed the demo and am eagerly looking forward to the game, but I still think there's gonna be something of a split. FF12 will likely be the next FF8 in terms of splitting the fanbase.

I think the people who primarily complain about gameplay will be quite
pleased with FFXII. FFXII's cast of characters definitely looks better
overall than FFVIII's, where Squall was really the only notable one, I think. Most people on GameFAQs, at least, should really take to the game. But like I said early, I'm only expecting two, maybe three, characters to be pretty strong. Still, that's two new strong characters not from FFVII!! --- Give you 10G if you act like a chicken! Yes. Tetra and Kefka = WIN, Moltar And FFXII being to FFX as FFVI is to FFIV is just fine with me. Yeah, it might be ensemble, but the strongest character from FFVI is *still* stronger than the strongest from FFIV. That picture is awesome. The only two things that could maybe be
improved are the Zelda picture and perhaps the Top left corner of the
Zelda side. With Zelda, I'm just not a fan of the cartoon artwork, but
then again, if melee picks are ineligible for Zelda (I was sort of
worried about that, too for Sheik), she does look fairly awful in
Ocarina that I wouldn't switch to that. And I'm just having difficulty
