IMO, SMB/SSB is probably only a tad higher than their non-SFF strengths
individually. I'm thinking that there was very little SFF in that match. After what Metal Gear Solid did to Resident Evil in 2004, I'd never
take Capcom's series. There's no way you'd make me believe RE4 was big
enough to reverse all that, especially when MGS3 was released only two

A MG/RE match would be positively disgusting. I wouldn't give any edge
to either opponent. A lot of things can get the edge on Snake in the

Keep in mind that Final Fantasy had 73.79% against Resident Evil right now, compared to 72.27% for Zelda against Metal Gear. --- As you wish. |

Though, we actually don't have as much reason to believe RE suffers from pictures as bad as Snake/Metal Gear does. But yeah, a scenario in which I'd take RE>MG is extremely unlikely. See, that's ridiculous. Those four series being that close in the stats? I'd take DMC to get at least
60% on DQ, I'd call for a doubling. And I'd take GTA/Warcraft to defeat
DMC without sweating much, either. (just to show that this isn't just
pro DMC Lopen talking here) The series are just so large in their appeal. They're all "sff matches"... moreso than characters or games are. Hell, I still think Mario has a shot tomorrow, despite getting way less on SSB than FF got on MM, and me not thinking that SSB owns Mega Man hardcore. It's funny to note for how in 2 contests in a row, the Ultimate Loser
will turn out to be one in which many picked to win the division,

One thing in Final Fantasy's favor that I forgot about is the
Cloud/Sephiroth factor, as they've been absent so far (possibly
contributing to a RE overratedness relative to Metal Gear anomaly?).
Though I don't consider pics a factor when dealing with user-series,
especially Final Fantasy and Zelda. So it shouldn't mean much. But, it

I'm guessing this is ignoring extrapolation. Of course, you guys are better with that stuff than I. But assuming LOZ finishes with 74% on Metal Gear, and assuming LOZ = FF, it makes RE and MG awfully close, which I don't buy. |
