We're reading far too into this... it says the twist is readily
apparent, and if we didn't get two 32 character sections, one male, one
female, I'd be shocked. It'll suck, yeah, but oh well. I honestly don't
understand why any of the users ever wanted a female contest, but now

The problem is, all fodder vs. fodder matches will be on the female side. God I hope Ulti's right about Sheena being stronger than Lloyd, if only because I'd love to see her kick Terra's teeth in. Not stat-related, but still fun to think about... Something just struck
me like lightning. I'm pretty much certain CJayC put Sephiroth and
Liquid Snake in the same division on purpose. *FF7 and MGS spoilers* On one side, you have a superpowered, yet uber-pansy, super-soldier who goes nuts after discovering he was the subject of a genetic experiment, and who gets his ass kicked repeatedly by another, inferior, subject from the same experiment. Said super-soldier has the ability to NOT ****ING DIE, no matter how much he gets killed, and likes wearing a trenchcoat while still revealing his upper body. On the other side, you have a superpowered, yet uber-pansy, super-soldier who goes nuts after discovering he was the subject of a genetic experiment, and who gets his ass kicked repeatedly by another, inferior, subject from the same experiment. I just realized that in FF/Diablo, FF had the picture advantage, with
Cloud and Squall taking the headlight. In the other pictures you've got
Cecil, Terra, Yuna, and Zidane (among others), who are not part of the
most popular games in the series. FFVI is strong, yet Terra is not? Anyway, the semifinals and final matches could have different outcomes depending on who's representing Final Fantasy. But if it's Mario/Cloud and SMB wins, I will laugh my ass off. --- This space reserved for a new sig. |

For whatever it is worth, I noticed that Chrono Compendium is
advertising the nomination period on their site -- it was created by
someone who originally came from the CT board, too, just to throw it
out there. "I know just as much as the next guy that the character battle is a stupid popularity contest. But it's still something passively fun to watch unfold. Nominations have just opened, and the time has come to get the Chrono series assuredly represented. You have to sign up at Gamefaqs to nominate. You are allowed 7 males and 7 females this contest. I realize you may have other characters you'd like to nominate; once you've typed them in, just fill the remaining spots with Chrono entries. Do it in this importance, as listed on the full Chrono ticket: Males: Crono, Magus, Frog, Serge, Lynx, Glenn, Cyrus Females: Kid, Marle, Schala, Lucca, Ayla, Harle, Queen Zeal That order. Serge, Lynx, Glenn, Kid, and Harle are from Chrono Cross, so mark that in the game box. For everything else, mark Chrono Trigger. So if you've already nominated a few characters and only have three spots left (one for males, two for females), you'd nominate Crono, Kid, and Marle to round out your choices. Since Chrono fans blew the series contest by misspelling the prefix "Chrono", this is a chance to make up. Don't misspell the names of these characters. Use copy-paste if you have to. Since I'm bored, random thoughts on female nominations. Megaman: Roll and Tron Bonne are the big ones I've seen mentioned. I'd suspect that Iris (MMX4) would be the third strongest and might even be strong fodder. Leviathan (MMZ) is probably below the fodder line. I can't see any of Mayl and Yai (both MMBN), Alia (MMX), or Ciel (MMZ) having any useful strength; there's a bunch of random Command Mission/late MMX series robots that aren't even worth mentioning. Metroid: Samus, Mother Brain. Nuff said. Mario: Peach. Techinically Birdo's a boy, and Cackletta is fodder. Chrono: I've said before Ayla>Marle>Lucca. I wouldn't be surprised if Schala was stronger than Marle, or even if Zeal was stronger than Lucca. Somebody ought to rally Flea nominations for fun (even if he is male). All others are fodder. Metal Gear: I'm surprsed that there isn't much love for Sniper Wolf; is she really that far below Revolver Ocelot/Liquid Snake. |

where a Chrono character is among the six most popular. If anything
those guys should be thankful things are the way they are. (Granted,
Magus and Frog being so weak compared to Crono is really hard to

I'm going to be picking up the Diablo Battle Chest sometime soon.
Includes Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo II: LoD, and the Prima guide for
Diablo II. I haven't played Diablo II since 2002, but from what I

Because picking attacks from menus is REALLY SUPER AWESOME!!! I think something might have happened with FF/Diablo, because I really don't see The Elder Scrolls beating Diablo, and I think Street Fighter would struggle as well. I think Street Fighter would crush Diablo. I can't see it being on par
with series like Resident Evil and being that close to Mega Man. Hell, I'd take Mario Kart over Diablo. FFF (Fodder Fluctuation Factor, for the scrubs who don't know) FTW. The weaker the opponent, the stronger fodder becomes. I personally think fodder fluctuation is a load myself. Vyse looked the
