Yeah...looks like RE won't match Mega Man's percentage, but should be strong in its own right. ...whoa...that makes Street Fighter pretty tough, too. Something I did not see coming. --- Do not kill. What's so wrong with that? I wouldn't say MMX would be stronger than RE
by much, and I certainly expect FF to do better as the day progresses,
but I don't see how this performance is anything but disappointing. --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |

It's not a pathetic performance, but I figured (SINCE DAY ONE, MIGHT I ADD) that Zelda would definitely look
like the favorite heading into the final. So far, that looks to be
exactly the case, but even though I expected this, siding with Zelda

But you were expecting "SFF" on par with Zelda/MMX? You've gotta be kidding me. At least people who said Snake/Sora could cause Metal Gear to overperform on Kingdom Hearts sorta made sense. "But Metal Gear Solid might have overperformed on Resident Evil, and Final Fantasy VII overperformed on Metal Gear Solid! So... Remember right after RE/SF when I said that RE would do better on FF than MMX did and everybody gave me a hearty "WTF?!" I realize the day vote has yet to roll in, but I will point this out now so that either A) I get to smile at my correctness or B) You can laugh at my stupidity. I remember someone here talking about Resident Evil having a shot at
the Chrono series, which I said I couldn't take seriously. I said RE might
break 25% against Final Fantasy, which for some reason I think was
actually disputed. One would certainly expect Final Fantasy to finish

Resident Evil may look like the favorite in such a match now, but
before the contest started, there were people who thought that Mega Man
X would be stronger than the original Mega Man. There were also those
who thought they would be about equal. Dunno about anyone else, but

Why does LOZ/MMX make sense but FF/RE does not? Outside of one game which was eventually ported to the PS2, RE has been a Playstation series. MMX has actually spent most of its time as a Playstation series. --- --NL-- Where am I? |

The only thing surprising here is a lack of SFF to me, this is almost exactly
where I'd peg RE to be without it. It's not as strong as Mega Man, so
it doing significantly worse is expected, but it wasn't going to get
flat out killed without SFF. And SFF doesn't even matter. It might have in a situation like Mario/Samus, but FF and Zelda will be going up against each other pound for pound, strength for strength. What exactly do The Legend of Zelda and Mega Man X have in common? More than Final Fantasy has in common with Resident Evil, that's for sure. Nintendo SFF is always the most blatant and painful anyway. Super Mario Bros. / Madden NFL Final Fantasy / Diablo Super Mario Bros. / Warcraft LoZ / Metroid LoZ / Civilization Pokemon / Metroid LoZ / Mega Man X Pokemon / Star Ocean Resident Evil / Shadow Hearts Street Fighter / Resident Evil Metal Gear / Kingdom Hearts Final Fantasy / Mega Man Sonic / Devil May Cry Mega Man / Mario Kart Metal Gear / Fire Emblem Fire Emblem / Silent Hill Sonic / Super Smash Bros. Kingdom Hearts / Harvest Moon Super Smash Bros. / Dragon Quest Metroid / Kirby The Elder Scrolls / Street Fighter Metal Gear / Soul Calibur Suikoden / Mega Man X A match's excitement usually comes from what my expectations were; if the outcome was vastly different than what was expected, then it's more exciting, with how high Pokemon's matches were. If a match went as expected but didn't have anything particularly interesting about it, then it ranks lower. RE being stronger than Mega Man (which I also meant, not MMX) makes
little sense, and it clearly isn't going to match MM's percentage

It may just be that Final Fantasy isn't able to get SFF in the first place...just because it's that powerful.
