Since it looks like it's going to be crucial in the upcoming
contest, I'd like to know everyone's thoughts on the Aeris/Tifa/Zelda
trio. I'd go with Tifa > Aeris > Zelda, but I wouldn't exclude
any combination. Up until SC2k5, I firmly believed Aeris was the third strongest from FF VII, but I don't think so anymore. I'd probably take Aeris over Zelda out of wishful thinking, but Zelda could easily be above her or above both of them. So, you're basically telling me every last RPG character on the male bracket HAS to be from Square? Riiiiiight. No, but in this bracket every male character has to be strong. There's not much room for low midcarders like Diablo. He'd easily belong in the field if there weren't a cap on male characters. --- Nominate Aeris for SC2k6 |

No, as Kaxon said, just because he's a non square rpg type doesn't mean he deserves a spot. Personally, diablo never did anything for me. And to the whole name nomination thing, I don't think it's as obvious as saying, "Didn't you read the directions omg you fool?" For Celes in particular those FFVI names were only ever created in the manual; it's more than reasonable to assume people don't use them. Also, Princess Peach can be validly referred to as Princess Toadstool, Peach Toadstool, or Princess Peach. It changed with the games, and the wikipedia article on her says as much, too. Are people going to nominate Luigi or Luigi Mario? Even though CJ snubbed chrono trigger, it feels like this year he'll be a bit more careful. I don't remember having to say what series the character's are from in the past, but that could just be my bad memory and nothing more. Hmmmm....From the looks of things, SMB was dominant with the morning
vote, even getting 70% updates at times. However, SSB has come back
with the afternoon vote, and SMB is struggling to get 60% updates now.
Smash Brothers is looking to get at least 37% before this is all said

And as far as people worrying about Celes not getting in because of
people listing her only as "Celes" and others listing her as "Celes
Chere," I wouldn't worry about it too much. That's why there's an

Of course there is some SFF. I mean, it is two popular Nintendo
franchises going at it. SSB is just alot stronger than we thought and

If that's actually true (as in, this is almost entirely SSBM), then
Mario is in biiiiig trouble. I still say SSBM doesn't break 40% in a

Use a character's full name when possible, and make sure you spell
the character's name correctly, as it is used in the English-language
version of the game (i.e. "Crono", "Aeris"). Am I the only one who found it hilarious that CJayC said to always use a character's full name, and then called her "Aeris" instead of "Aeris Gainsborough"? --- Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent. |
