oh, Samus gets the majority of her strength from Metroid.. it's just
that it's an SFF match. this is like asking where Ganondorf gets his
strength from. it's just massive SFF. But the thing is, Link/Samus was a SFF matchup too, and Samus was likely SFFed and still to this day has performed the best on Link outside of Clinkeroth. Summer 2004. Samus had one kickass run that year. Samus has been impressing since 2k2, really. It's Metroid that I don't get. --- Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal. I think this is mostly another example of the Big Three being miles
ahead of everything else. Metal Gear isn't escaping a tripling, I'd
say, and only it and the Mega Man classic have a shot at finishing over
25% on the winner. Incidentally, if Metal Gear does get tripled exactly, Fire Emblem beats Metroid, like, 60/40. --- Mustache...and green... |

Metroid isn't going to beat most things soundly after it couldn't beat
Pokemon soundly. Yes, Pokemon has strength. But would you take it to

People are going to severely underestimate MGS against LoZ. Sure LoZ is
still going to kick it's ass, but I don't think avoiding the tripling

Hmm? Zelda with more than 75% on against Metal Gear either means Zelda

Overall, my thoughts on this contest so far go like this: After FF beat down Diablo so hard, I thought like everyone else that this thing was over. However, after witnessing the big three in action in round 2 it turns out that they're all just dominating like they did in the villain contest, and the championship is still somewhat open. Back to square one, as one would say. Anyone think like that? I mean, this is an obvious SFF beatdown, but Metroid would likely get tripled by FF to begin with. --- i thought people on gamefaqs had good taste in games i guess i was wrong -EstUmbra |

I didn't expect Zelda to break 80%. I do enjoy watching LoZ and FF try to 1-Up each other. XD LoZ: I broke 100,000 votes in my first match! FF: I made Diablo look like fodder and ALSO broke 100,000 votes! LoZ: I broke 100,000 votes AGAIN and held Mega Man X under 20% FF: I ALSO broke 100,000 votes twice, and almost tripled Mega Man, with NO SFF! SMB: Screw-a you! I got more votes than any of you! And held War-a-craft under the 20's! --- This space reserved for a new sig. |

Metroid would probably get more than tripled by FF. No way Pokemon

I almost feel like I *have* to give Pokemon the edge over Mario Kart, because if I don't Metroid just looks pathetic compared to Mega Man and other series. Pokemon 20% on Final Fantasy? What? I can't see it getting that at all. Frankly, I would take Pokemon over a select few series in the bracket...but if I use that logic it puts Metroid at the bottom of the barrel. I feel like it deserves better than that. I know, but I wouldn't have guessed Pokemon could go nearly even with
Metroid either. It's between Pokemon being (much) stronger than we
thought (comparitively, anyway - 20% usually isn't much to brag about),
or Metroid getting Ulti-destroyed or worse against your Mega Men, Metal

Super Mario Brothers getting 55% on Super Smash Brothers would be the
most depressing thing ever. I mean, sure, at least the stats would look
a helluva lot better...but SSB getting 45% on the godfather of gaming
is just a notch below Shadow doing the same. And there's no proxy

I took Warcraft>GTA, and before this contest I would've been sorely
tempted to take Diablo>GTA as well. Now I don't know, it seems

And there's no proxy nonsense to excuse it, either. There isn't, but I just thought I'd say the contest n00bs think this is going to be Mario vs. all of Nintendo (plus Metal Gear to boot). As if a bunch of popular Nintendo characters was going to help. This is a fighting game that just so happens to feature Nintendo all-stars, not the reverse. Much the same, yes. Warcraft needs 60%+ on Diablo for SMB to stand a chance against FF. Not happening. Why, though? I don't believe that Warcraft can go lower than a 55% in that match.
